I recently bought a 2007 plate mini cooper as a run around. (I'm still stuck in the 80's and i like a CD player, handbrake and key -although this isn't a traditional key, i don't want all the lane assist etc nonsense).

The car has a full service history at a mains dealer and one owner from new, and the garage i bought it from offered a six month warranty with Momentum.

Momentum then sent me an offer to extend the warranty for a further year giving me 18 months peace of mind.

I looked around to find out whether the extended warranty was competitive or not, only to find comparison sites don't offer warranties on cars over 16 years old.

As my warranty won't expire for six months, and a lot can happen in that time i requested a call back on their email link.

Within a few minutes i received a call from ROSS. Ross was extremely helpful and i explained that i was reluctant to take out the extended warranty today as anything could happen between now and then meaning i wouldn't have the car (always a natural pessimist!) Ross explained that the policy has a cooling off period of 30 days from when it becomes active, not today, and that should i no longer have the car, i can claim back any months of cover i'd already paid for, less any money spent on claims.

There was no hard sell, and i was offered a further discount and the option to pay 3/6 months interest free, so i opted for the first month payment today, and the remainder on the first of each month.

The dealer who sold the car liked this warranty provider because you can use your own local garage as long as they are VAT registered.

Hopefully i won't have to use the warranty, but i know the main parts are covered.

Please Do not buy a warranty from this company as it’s not worth the paper it is written on.
Avoid at all costs and read the reviews thoroughly before you commit as you will be misled and will not find a garage to carry out the required work with this company.

If you look at all of the reviews it is just a copy and paste reply and no real contact with you to discuss your claim in person.

I am Now contacting the ombudsman to review my mis sold policy and trading standards to look into the advertising policy.

Advert is misleading to all customers when they start a claim.
If there was a lesser rating I would use it .

Purchased my car from a reputable dealer and it came with a level 2 Plan.
My fly wheel failed after less than 3,000 miles from the purchase date of my car.
Took it to a local reputable to carry out the repairs.
The garage who carried out my repairs fitted a new clutch for which this is standard practice. overall it cost me just less then 2k.
The claim ref noVPX19740960 was submitted by the dealer as they sourced the parts at cost price to reduce my bill as they took out the warranty with the Momentum rep.

My claim was rejected straight away on the basis of wear and tear .
My gearbox was repaired by the dealer and there was no indication my flywheel was faulty when it was repaired .
Photo submitted as per there request and then rejected the claim straight away even though it went through the car dealer .
The rep who sold the policies to the Car dealer doesn’t want to know or help or get involved with the claim.
Typical sales person takes your money then runs .
To make things worse Iam still being contacted by Momemtum to extend my warranty .
No garage wannt’s to take on any work with this company as they fail to pay out and drag out the claim by asking for more pictures and evidence to avoid a pay out.
They just want your money for a policy that is useless.

Please avoid this company at all costs as you will not be covered for any repairs .

Got a reply back which stands up to all of the poor reviews where they fail to pay out saying my clutch and fly wheel are not covered even thought they were inspected 5 months ago when my gearbox was repaired .
Claim rejected to wear and tear .
I am still being contacted to extend my warranty even though they do not cover you .
My original review was not published and removed .
Please do not take out a warranty with his company as they will avoid to pay out at all costs.
I will continue to publish my review as they do not like honest feedback.

Hi Joe,
After investigating the notes on our system, I can see that from the evidence that was supplied to us from your repairer, there was no sign of a failed flywheel or a failed clutch.
The warranty applied to your vehicle covers for sudden failure of components only. If a part is failing due to the component being worn out, we would be unable to offer a financial contribution towards the repairs on your vehicle.
On this occasion, due to no sudden failure being shown with the parts, we were unable to assist any further.

My Gearbox was inspected on the 18th may and had a replacement part fitted.

The same garage who carried out the work also inspected my clutch and flywheel and found no issues or signs of wear and tear otherwise they would have replaced them How can you now say my claim has been rejected due to wear and tear .
As per my honest review the policy is not worth the money or paper it is written on.
The other reviews also have the same excuse for rejecting the claim.

Steve made the process of renewing my warranty really easy. Called on time and explained everything easily in a way that’s understandable.

Spoke to Ross, very helpful and polite, would definitely recommend Momentum, for your warranty. Took out extended 12 month warranty. Very good price for my Newley purchased VWT6 Vivante Campervan.

A simple one call with unhurried service to make sure I understood the process, costs and limitations before committing to a further year's warranty.

The guys at the garage were so friendly. Definitely no pushy sales men. Couldn’t do enough to help. When purchasing the car everything was in order. Tax everything sorted out.
I am really happy with the service they provided. I also feel confident that if any issues may arise they will be dealt with promptly. I would not hesitate to use or recommend this garage / car sales again. Very happy with the whole process
