I don’t like to be insulted

I don’t like to be insulted . I don’t like to be told I have to take tests for dementia by big men in scrubs. I said no- I won’t take the dementia test. I was told I have to. What is it with the word NO that you don’t understand? You should take the dementia test. No I don’t like Oak Street Health. It’s insulting & an insurance company scam

Getting a call back is non existent

Getting a call back is non existent. You call a call center and hope for the best. They make it sound so wonderful. Seeing an actual doctor is maybe like once. They actually called to prescribed my husband heart medication without even testing. They said because he had diabetes. He went to an actual heart doctor...no medication. They need real doctors and stop the crap commercials.

Don't believe the commercials!

I liked the concept of Oakstreet Health. Now I wish I NEVER came. First, they changed the patient transportation. They no longer pick up patients who live over 10 miles from the office. I live 12.8 miles, this means I have to take an Uber and as a 100% disabled veteran with multiple illnesses, this is very expensive. I paid $28.00 one way to meet with Dr. Mucha. I had called the office and informed them I was in an Uber on my way. They told me I could still come and be seen. I arrived 5 minutes later. Dr. Mucha refused to see me, in spite of them telling her I had taken an Uber. I have been diagnosed with several chronic painful conditions and I’m not being treated for any of them.
I was referred to 4 pain doctors, non would take me as a patient. Two of the doctors said they did not know why Oakstreet referred me. I have yet to be referred to any new pain managemen physicians. I have nerve pain in my left leg, 3 Degenerative discs in my back, Sciatica, Lupus and Sjogrens, Myalgia Encephalitis and Fibromyalgia.
I was assigned a new physician, named Meredith Mucha. It's been 8 months and I still have not been able to meet her. Dr. Mucha, yet she is supposed to be my primary? Every month I have to call for days just to get a refill of 28 pain pills. That’s one (1) pill per day! I was lied to by her nurse Natasha who told me it was the CDC guidelines. I informed her that I have a Masters degree and the actual page that states “the physician has the ability to adjust the patient medication according to their condition “. I’m always told if my pain becomes too much, then I should go to the ER. In the month of July, I had to go 3 times! This is unacceptable! My advice to future or potential people, RUN AWAY! If I knew I'd be treated this bad, I could have stayed with the VA!

This company talk the talk but do not walk the walk. It has beeen brought to my attention that he nurse practitationer has written false information in my medical recorders, that was not decussed with me and Oak Street Health is giving me the run around about getting it corrected. I have been dealing with since july and situation has not beed resolved yet It is very important that your medical records is truthful, because false or inaccurate information can be detrimetal to your health.Oak Street Health dose not take information in your health records seriously

Terrible communication

Terrible communication, mass confusion to return a simple phone call. Consistently provided the central call center phone number as a central point of contact. Call center is totally lost; can’t identify the correct clinic for your appointment, nor the physician. Well I decided to go elsewhere. Good Luck!! Not Mad just disappointed after a six week wait.

I have a stronger disappointment

I have a stronger disappointment than other reviews. I am almost 70, and have great medical needs but was told at my last appointment I am only am only allowed an appointment ever 3 months and the intake was not at all as advertised. DO NOT FALL FOR THE ADVERTIZEMENT.
my qualification is as a Imaging / Bio-med engineer since 1979. The fact I am almost 70 is because my hard push on Doctors and not because they want to do the work needed. As of this last visit now they want to send me to a shrink. This has happen before when complaints are made and the Doctor wont do the work necessary. The "it's all in your head" approach can be fatal and the med's are the reason you will end up with Cholesterol (look it up) and blood pressure problems. Also the "psych Doc' is is effectively 'the brush'
Oak Street Health is NOT a fix for BAD medical care

Not What They're Supposed To Be

I chose Oak Street when I lived in University City. They provided transportation and it was convenient since I use a walker for radiculopathy. I moved to 15th & Spruce in Sept 2025. Four appointments were made over the course of about 4 months and no one showed up to pick me up each time. Thats the first complaint.
At my initial evaluation with Marketra Reese, she was pleasant and I liked her. I told her about a serious problem with cellulitis in both legs for which I needed 30 day hospitalization in 2021. She did not look at my legs and was only concerned with my blood pressure. In August 2026 I changed primaries and my new MD sent me to UPenn Wound Care as I had a flare up of cellulitis. The doctor there did a culture which showed cellulitis MRSA. He prescribed topical ointment fir the skin rash. I went back to Oak Street (insurance problem) and saw Markeetra. She agreed that I should have been given an oral antibiotic and prescribed doxycycline 100 mg which is for topical skin ailments and did nothing. I have called the clinic at least 5 times to try to get a call back from anyone who will speak to me about an antibiotic for MRSA which is a highly infectious bacteria that, if left untreated, leads to sepsis abd even death. It is immune to most antibiotics and there are only a few that work. NO ONE HAS RETIRNED MY CALLS! Meanwhile, I am in constant pain, can barely walk and the redness in my legs is spreading. Personally, I don't believe the nursing staff has any clue about what MRSA is or how to treat it, which should be urgent and immediate. I don't think UPenn Wound Care had any clue either. I don't understand how medical providers cannot know how to treat more serious maladies or ignore patients' concerns and requests especially concerning something so life-threatening. And, no, I will not go to a hospital! Thats where I got the MRSA bacteria in the first place! I knew the antibiotics I needed, but no one listened to me. I am totally disgusted with the response of the clinical care team I have received and their ignorance of something so urgent.

Nonresponsive…

I have had two experiences contacting them when I needed a prescription right away. Once when I needed a medication, once when I needed a CPAP machine. Both times they didn't repond after numerous calls over a 2 week period.

Terrible service

If I could give it less I would. I called the Berwyn, IL location with a concern about my mom. They scheduled an appointment with her and when she got there, they told her that they had called and cancelled. Which is not true, my mom, sister or I never received a call. They rescheduled for the following week only for her to have a video appointment. Why? What evaluation is that? I needed someone to look and evaluate her. How can they evaluate thru video and why did she have to go in for that. Then they told her I had called when I told them not to. I just wanted her to be evaluated in case I was seeing things wrong. Now my mom is mad at me and doesn’t want to talk to me. I don’t think this clinic knows how to do things right. I am very disappointed.

They don't return calls or care about my health concerns. I left my last doctor's office because of this issue. They advertise that they go above and beyond for senior patients. I feel that their claims that they advertise on TV are false.

Oakstreet Health Roosevelt in Philly is…

Oakstreet Health Roosevelt in Philly is the absolute worse ever, they call back after I’ve left numerous messages when they feel like it, they absolutely don’t care a hoot about their patients, nobody seems to know anything about anything, their so called call center that takes their calls are the worst, I don’t believe for a second that every message I’ve left with them for my care team has been given to my care team, all they say is to leave a message and someone will call back, they never follow instructions for the correct meds to be electronically delivered to my pharmacy which set me back unnecessarily, never ever again !!

Went to an appointment on 7/31/2026 Was given a referral to see a neurosurgeon here in Rock Hill. It is now 8/27/2026 and they still have got nothing accomplished. The lady from Humana reached out to them to see why it was taking so long, and said to expedite the referral that day. As of today, Nothing!

Oak Street Health: Not As Advertised

I handle my mother's medical affairs and decided to set an appointment with Oak Street Health (Based on the benefits and promises touted in the commercials).

The sign-up requires an initial 90-minute 'orientation' appointment - which from the start, seemed very inefficient.

I accompanied my mother to the appointment for evaluation and was immediately disappointed, as the appointment was largely sitting and waiting (Empty lobby with little staff).

The actual meeting with a doctor was 15 minutes (No friendly banter, attention, 'Get to know you' conversation, or concern as purported in the TV commercials).

The staff (What few in the office), were standing around complaining about their employment conditions and almost appeared hostile.

Again, NOTHING like the environment advertised in the Oak Street Health commercials on television.

Additional obeservations made over a 30 day period include:

1). Lack of proper follow-up (If any).
2). Inability to explore other locations (Surprisingly, Oak Street Health offices are not connected and function individually - you have to sign up all over in another 90-minute orientation).
3). Difficulty scheduling an appointment in a timely manner (Month later).
4). A largely worthless website - a manual phone call is still required to accomplish basic tasks, such as setting an appointment.

We had a total of two appointments - both were an absolute waste of time and the overall experience with Oak Street Health was negative on both occasions.

Bottom line: Oak Street Health is nowhere near the company, nor experience as advertised and I would not recommend.

I am writing this review as a follow-up…

I am writing this review as a follow-up to a previous review. I made an appointment over a month in advance at an Oak Street office in Columbia SC for my Signicant other whom I serve as a Caregiver. She is 83 years old, has one lung and with hip replacements, she walks with a Walker and is on oxygen.
Before the day of her appointment, in the middle of the night, going to the bathroom, she fell. She had bruises on her left arm and hip, but didn't experience pain at the time.
I took her into Oak Street in Columbia, SC. We go between Augusta and Columbia where our Families are living.
She not too long ago had a stroke and painfully was in ICU for over a month moving from there to PCU and as she got better to a hospital room, then to rehabilitation at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. When she got better, we went to our Columbia home to further recover so she would not be left alone once the homemade Nurses were pulled as a result of insurance coverage limitations.
A legitimate appointment was made at Oak Street in Columbia a month in advance so she would have Primary Care there. She had also seen a NP at Augusta Oak Street when she was there. We went in, her fasting, anticipating testing and SHE WAS REFUSED SERVICE. AUGUSTA OAK STREET CALLED AND INSTRUCTED COLUMBIA SC OAK STREET NOT TO SEE HER. Apparently they were territorial and wanted her money spent there.
We were flabbergasted after the trouble we went through, her being 83, now experiencing pain and on a day when it was 100 degrees outside. After much pleading that the Doctor see her, they would not.
We left and went to the Emergency Room where they discovered the SHE HAD A BROKEN CLAVICLE. How she sustained the pain only GOD can say. We were in the Emergency Room until midnight. They took Xrays and did other tests. I can't begin to tell you the rage and disappointment I felt as a retired Health Care Professional of 30 years where Patient Healthcare comes first, not territorial concerns of money or whatever. This 83 year old Women with a walker, one lung, on oxygen was made to suffer and refused Healthcare. Why?
Oak Street advertises Care for Seniors but dropped the ball on basic concerns.
I am or was a Patient. They called me today, I waited on hold, then was cut off. These are the facts. I have loss trust in the ignorance exhibited and lack of concern and priorities. I want this known so no other Seniors are put through this. She is had to follow-up with an Orthopedic Surgeon. Her life was put in jeopardy and her recovery took a setback. I can't begin to express what I feel about what happened having experienced first hand the ignorant lack of concern for someone I have known since I was 14 years old. We are both Seniors now, myself, a disabled Veteran but still a Care Given as much as my ability allows.

We were assigned Dr

We were assigned Dr. Morland. In December of 2025, we were informed she left Oak Street Health. We would be informed when we are assigned a new doctor, a month later I called to ask why it was taking so long. I was informed it was the insurance company had to okay the doctor. I was also informed that we were reassigned to a doctor they made an appointment for us, two days before the appointment, I called to confirm the appointment. I was informed it was rescheduled for a month later, i called 2 days before that appointment. I was informed it was rescheduled for two months later, i called 2 days before that appointment. They informed me my wife was rescheduled with another doctor I was scheduled for a separate doctor, i informed them when we came into Oak street Health I was promised this would not happen. She replied, I could transfer you to my wife's doctor temporarily. I said, why was it the first doctor took a month. We Had to do paperwork for the insurance company. She replied that was misinformation sir. I don't know why they lied to you. That ain't what happens. Then, she sad they can reschedule the appointment for the tenth of August
2026, on August 8th I called to confirm the appointment. They informed me it has been canceled. I asked when has it been rescheduled for she said it has not been it's been canceled
So they rescheduled us for an appointment on the 18th of September. I call two days later, realizing my wife was running out of a prescription called Xarelto, it is a blood thener medication she has to have, i call Oak Street Health to get a prescription. I was told since we have not been there since December of last year. We probably will not get one I reply That's because you all kept moving our appointments without telling me, then you canceled it. We cannot get in to see the doctor because you all will not let us, she replies to me. I'm sorry, sir. We have no record of this, i replied, no kidding if you did I have a record I would have a lawsuit and win automatically. While we were talking from there on out, she just kept saying, I'm sorry sir we do not have a record of this. I finally informed her. I'm making a review on Oak Street Health onto 2 website, she replied I would not advise that. I am not trying to say you will have a bad experience all i'm saying is this is the experience my wife and myself had with Oak Street health i am not speaking for any other person.
