The online application process is easy to follow.
And I thought relatively inexpensive at approximately NZD300. However, it was not clear that I would need to obtain a copy of the person verifying my identity's passport until after they had completed the verification process. Make sure you get a copy of the photo page of their passport when you ask them to verify, if you are on a tight time frame.
It was just good luck that I had my dad's original birth certificate. A very old certified copy was accepted for the marriage certificate.
The longest delay was the time it took to send the passport application from Auckland to the UK. This cost NZ$126 and took 14 days, via NZ Post. And you need to file a customs declaration (to avoid standing in line at the Post Office twice).
Once received by the passport office, my passport was approved and printed within 8 days.
I have been notified by DHL that it will be received next week, 6 days after printing.
The passport office advised that it would approximately 3 weeks before I receive my documents back, and they are sent separately to the passport.

I am amazed with the whole process of renewing my passport. Such an efficient service with keeping informed of what stage of the process and the speedy delivery-Royalmail first class on time. The whole process from application to receiving my new passport only 12 days. And didn't pay extra for a fast application. Super service thank you 😊

As a dual British and Australian citizen, I needed to reapply for a UK passport due to the new UK travel entry requirements. I hadn’t had a UK passport for over 20 years, so it initially felt like a daunting process. However, Juan-Pierre from UK Passports guided me through every step and made the application simple and stress-free. Juan-Pierre was always quick to respond to any queries I had and was extremely efficient and professional.

After all the flak they received a few years ago, I couldn't have been more impressed with the service I received. Using a digital photograph made life really easy - the shop uploaded it and got instant confirmation it met the requirements. I then completed the application online and sent off my old passport. The new one arrived 4 days later. That's it. Straightforward, good use of digital services, no hassle and, to top it all, good communication at every stage - emails to tell me they had received my old passport, the new one was approved, was printed and then dispatched. I genuinely don't think they could have made the process any easier, or efficient.

I wish all consumer experiences were as good as this.

Just experienced brilliant service from the Passport Office on renewing my passport. The whole process was sorted within one week and they sent me clear communication throughout on what was happening. Very impressed.

I purposely decided to renew my passport in the new year as I thought the office would be a lot busier nearer Easter and the summer holidays. I certainly didn’t expect the whole process to be so easy and so fast. They keep you informed every step of the way so that you know what’s going on and the whole thing took exactly one week from the office receiving my application to receiving my new passport. Applied for a new passport having reverted to my maiden name. This was the first official document I had applied for in my new name. The supporting documents required were difficult to obtain as many companies wanted an official document as proof of my name change. However the passport service were extremely supportive. They called me within a few days of receiving the documents and talked through what else they needed. The texts were very prompt confirming receipt of documents. When the application was finally approved I received my passport within 2 working days. Super efficient service.

Efficient and seamless service. Applied on line for a renewal passport, posted my old one the following day via the post office. Was kept up to date daily by the passport office via email and text from Royal Mail re delivery. Whole process took only one week. Well done Passport Office.

Excellent online service for my passport renewal. Applied on line, sent my old passport the following day, my new passport and my old one arrived 4 days later. Each day I had an update of the process and when it would be sent back to me.

I used the Post Office check and send service to renew my passport. I found the extra cost well worth it - no tedious form filling - and received my new passport in one week! There were updates from the Passport Office throughout the process. Excellent service - thank you.

I ordered my new passport on December 20th, needing it for a Jan 30th holiday and thinking with Xmas the suggested 3 week timeframe might be longer4-5 weeks…

Nope, it arrived on the 27th! WoW - just one week (I paid for standard not expedited)
