Ordered Alessi items on 2 March 25, to date 9 April nothing has been received, contacted them numerous times. The promised to dispatch items next day! AVOID.

Scam company. I ordered a spare part which has never been sent and the money was taken immediately. Despite several attempts trying to contact the company, I have had no response over the last few weeks.

Excellent products, speedy delivery, well packed. Unfortunate manufacturing issue discovered upon arrival was with dealt with efficiently and without fuss by the amazing Viv. I've seen some bad reviews, which I find very surprising given my experience. I have nothing but praise for her. Customer service with a smile. A real person, not a faceless machine. If you have problems, contact with the 'hello@' email - the 'contact@' one mentioned in some of the site info is defunct. Well done, Viv. Will defintely use you again.

Having read various reviews about Richmond Cookshop, I was a bit reluctant to buy from them, however, I went ahead and ordered (by phone), an Alessi Coffee Maker Moka pot. The girl who answered the phone, confirmed that the Coffee Maker Moka pot was not in stock - and would have to be ordered-out. Nevertheless, I went ahead with the order, which was sent via Royal Mail (tracked). No problems or disappointments. The coffee pot arrived within a week - and I was kept up to date with it's anticipated delivery by the tracking system. Good service by Richmond Cookshop customer service - and at a good competitive price. I will buy from them again.

I ordered and received an email saying the items were out of stock but would hopefully be delivered in 5 to 10 working days. After this time emailed asking for an update which Viv provided and from that point onwards she gave me regular updates on the order's progress until it was finally posted. It arrived safely today. Customer services were excellent. Thank you Viv.

ABSOLUTELY AVOID. Zero customer service, order was made and paid for more than two weeks ago, no indication it’s out of stock whatsoever, no communication until you chase, no goods received of course! It’s rubbish, time wasting and it is a scam!

Unfortunately these guys seem to be fraudsters and I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. It seems a lottery as to whether they have the stock or not and I have received one of the two products ordered and they have taken full payment. Now i cannot reach anyone by email or phone (phone goes unanswered and no ansaphone) to get an update or a refund. Will be starting the whole painful process of reporting them to my bank now to try and reclaim the money they have taken from me. Avoid.

I placed an order over a month ago and there was no indication that the product was out of stock or needed to be ordered in specially when I made my payment. After a while I received an email stating that I should get my knife within 5-10 business days. After waiting that time, still no knife and nothing from Richmond cookshop. I then started chasing and emailing with no response to eventually get a call one day saying that I should receive the product by the end of the following week and that I will get an email updating me on all of this and with a delivery date. Once again nothing happened, no delivery and nothing from Richmond cookshop. I then started chasing again finally managing to get a response where I asked for a refund. I would avoid this company they do not have their stock available for order and rely on suppliers, also very poor customer service. Managed to find the same product for a similar price elsewhere with free tracked 48 hour delivery.

Been buying from Viv at Richmond Cook shop since discovering the shop when it was nr Richmond Bridge many years ago. Always a very competitive price, fast dispatch and delivery and only ever received a first class service. That’s been my experience!

Bought an expensive Scanpan and it wzs not made clear it was not suitable for induction.
When I tried to return it I only got radio silence.

Avoid this seller, goods not received, had to go to payment provider to get a refund.

I ordered a Japanese kitchen knife for £120 on the Thursday, I received a phone call on the Friday morning confirming the knife was in stock and going through the legal bit re sale of knives. The same afternoon I got an e mail from DPD to confirm collection and it was delivered a couple of days later. Couldn’t ask for better service.

I am appalled by the lack of professionalism and customer service at Richmond Cookshop. I ordered a £125 knife from them, only to be met with false promises and delays. Despite confirming the knife was in stock before placing my order, I have yet to receive it after 3 months. Viv, the customer service representative, has been unresponsive and unreliable, leaving me without the product or a refund. It is clear that this company cannot be trusted to fulfil orders or provide adequate support. Save yourself the frustration and avoid purchasing from Richmond Cookshop at all costs.

I ordered a knife that was 89 pounds it never arrived. The phone number does not work and no reply to e-mails - do not buy from there!

I have had no reply to my various emails. The phone is answered by a recorded message and there is no way of leaving a message. I was unable to message them via Facebook, where the age of the posts also caused me concern.
And I can't find this company on the Companies House register - which may only reflect that it is trading under a different name.
Now that I've read the reviews on Trustpilot, I'll buy elsewhere.

I should have read reviews before ordering from this totally inefficient company. Having ordered and paid for (£89.00) a gift for my daughter's birthday, the gift did not arrive in time.
I emailed the company but heard nothing. I phoned many many times and rarely got through. There is NO answer phone. When I did I was told by VIV that 'they were moving premises' or that 'my emails kept going to junk mail" or that she 'made a mistake and the item wasn't actually in stock.' or "I have had personal problems.' I requested a full refund but kept being told that I would receive my item soon. Eventually, after a myriad of lame excuses I viewed the reviews and realised that I am not alone.
When I asked VIV if she had seen the reviews she said "they are probably from my rivals"!
MY ADVICE IS DO NOT USE THIS SHAM OF A COMPANY unless you want a lot of disappointment, frustration and meagre excuses from this non-business woman! If there was a category for minus stars I would give her -11!

This is a "drop-shipping" site. They carry no stock and only order from the supplier once they have received your payment. After placing an order, I heard nothing for a week and enquired about an update, only to be told they were expecting the item soon—maybe the following week. I cancelled the order and purchased elsewhere, with delivery in 3 days. Don't be tempted by the discounts unless you can wait weeks to receive your purchase.

Items arrived as described, well packaged, slight delay but was kept up to date. Overall good experience.

The company took payment for goods they did not hold and could not source, and therefore were unable to ship. After a few weeks, not having received my order, I queried the situation with them and asked for an update. I received one email in response, promising further info soon, which did not arrive. They did not answer their phone - ever - or reply to subsequent email querying status. However, when I sent an email saying I needed a resolution within 48 hours or I would initiate a chargeback with my payment provider, they rang back within minutes. I asked for a refund by reason of inability to supply the order and restated my intent to initiate chargeback if a refund was not forthcoming within 48 hours. They agreed they had not able to source the goods they had advertised for sale and that I had paid for, and my refund was processed very promptly. For that I give them one extra star over the minimum, but it's very very grudging. A bad experience that could have been worse, but I cannot recommend.
