Great team at Sallipets
Rolanda and the volunteers do a fantastic job with the dogs in their care
When we visited Sallipets all the dogs were well cared for and happy, they had plenty of room to run around and play.
Continue the good work you do caring for dogs looking for their forever home.

I can only review Sali Pets based on my own experience, but they have been absolutely brilliant. Everyone I dealt with was friendly and supportive throughout the process.
Rulanda was especially helpful and gave me all the support I needed. Nothing was too much trouble, and they took the time to answer my questions and make sure I felt confident every step of the way.
Based on my experience, I would definitely recommend Sali Pets. They genuinely care about their clients and dogs and provide excellent support.

Met with the lovely lady who runs Sallipets and she made me feel really comfortable as she talked me through her process. She has a love for all of the dogs in her care and didn’t make me feel bad or judged for needing to re-home my boy! I brought my young daughter along with me and all of the dogs where so good with her and the owner was so lovely with her too even went out of her way to get her an ice cream!
⚠️ WARNING ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE WITH…
⚠️ WARNING ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCE WITH SALLIPETS REHOMING ⚠️
We entrusted Sallipets Rehoming and Yolanda with finding our beloved dog Vader a safe, loving forever home. We were assured he would be carefully matched with a suitable family and properly cared for during what was already an emotionally devastating process for us.
Sadly, our experience has left us deeply distressed and questioning whether proper due diligence was carried out before placing Vader.
From our experience, we do not believe adequate checks were undertaken regarding suitability, experience, or preparedness for adopting a large breed dog. In our view, there appeared to be little evidence of meaningful home assessment, references, or gradual introductions to ensure the family and dog were genuinely compatible.
With reputable rescue organisations, there are usually multiple meet-and-greets, home checks, settling guidance, and post-adoption support. A dog, especially a large breed, should not simply be handed over after initial interest is shown.
In Vader’s case, the family who adopted him appeared inexperienced with dogs, particularly a dog of his size adjusting to a brand-new environment.
Within only hours of arriving in a completely unfamiliar home, concerns were raised about Vader that we strongly feel reflected normal settling behaviour for a stressed and confused dog.
We were told:
• Vader accidentally knocked over a child. Vader is a very large dog and can be clumsy, but he has never shown aggression.
• Vader growled after reportedly being physically pulled from the sofa. Vader communicates through vocalisation and stubbornness, not aggression, and responds to calm correction.
• Vader barked during the night. To us, this was protective behaviour in an unfamiliar environment, not aggression.
What deeply upset us was being told Vader had allegedly been forcefully pulled back by the neck/collar after barking. Vader weighs around 65kg, and we have always used a harness rather than force due to the risk of injury or distress.
After receiving an upsetting message from the adopter, Yolanda reassured us Vader would be safe, cared for, and given time to settle.
However, only hours later, we were told to collect Vader immediately because it was no longer convenient due to building work. After the reassurance we had been given, this came as a huge shock.
The emotional impact has been devastating. Rehoming Vader was one of the hardest decisions our family has ever made, especially for our young child who was heartbroken. To then feel dismissed during such a vulnerable time made it even worse.
After raising concerns, communication ended abruptly and we were blocked, leaving us distressed and without reassurance.
Our concern is not only what happened to Vader, but the wider rehoming process. Dogs need careful matching, experienced adopters, patience, and proper support while settling.
We trusted Sallipets to help give Vader the loving forever home he deserved. Sadly, we have been left heartbroken, disappointed, and deeply concerned by how everything unfolded.
UPDATE:
So to make this more appalling than it already is, a post on Facebook has gone up stating :
We then found out Darren Gurnett and his wife had lied. We asked him to take the dog back and he refused.
So instead of admitting he lied, he did what haters do. He did a Trust Pilot review.
Yet, he refuses to collect his dog or apologise for the lies he is saying.
#LiarsGoToHell #trolls
We have never lied about anything our beautiful beloved Vader was and still is our world, what is deadly concerning is the level of aggression by this Lady, looking back historically she has had a huge amount of complaints about her. I am stunned that she stated we have lied, we came to her as a last resort after exploring every single avenue available to allow Vader to come with us, this was not possible due to restrictions at our destination we even tried to get him certified as a service dog but Cane Corsos can’t be on those programs. When we turned to RSPCA for advice they stated Euthanasia is the safest and best way for Vaders future as they couldn’t take him in and most other rehome centres couldn’t take him in.
That’s when sadly we were advised to go to Sallipets had I have read all the horrendous previous experiences from people and the rest of the nightmares on Google, he wouldn’t have gone anywhere near her.
We are accused of lying for what exactly : We have a perfectly healthy and loved Cane Corsos that grew up beside my 7 year old child since he was 3, we only ever used positive training and he had the best temperament any dog could have, to then have a awful person yanking on his collar which is cruelty and extremely damaging but Yolanda thinks that is acceptable.
Awful lady
Wonderful Sallipets experience
We have had a wonderful experience with Sallipets since we first contacted the organisation in 2019. We got our beautiful dog Candy from them. Such a great match. And, we've been supported by Sallipets ever since, providing doggy care when we've gone on a family holiday. Thank you Sallipets.
Rolanda found me the sweetest 5yr old…
Rolanda found me the sweetest 5yr old bulldog called willow for rehoming. She made me fully aware of her extensive allergies and reactive ways from the very outset. 6 months in and we are inseparable. Rolanda knew the type of home that willow needed and it has proved to be a match made in heaven for both of us
Happy personal experience!
I contacted Sallipets due to having children and struggling to find a dog to give a forever home.
The first time we met with Rolanda she was so helpful and assured me she would help us find our new family member!
We met a few dogs they were all friendly and well looked after.
Within a week I had a message to say she had a perfect dog for us and she was right!
We absolutely love our new dog and she has become part of our family.
Rolanda was so helpful and continues to help with any questions we may have.
Sali pets helped me to re home a dog…
Sali pets helped me to re home a dog for a disabled client if mine. Don't expect to see lines of lonely dogs isolated in kennels, Sali pets offers something more of personal and homely environment. I get a sense that Sali pets has a genuine and sincere love of dogs. Thank you so much.
I adopted a mixed breed dog
I adopted a mixed breed dog. I love the rescue and the love the owner and volunteers have for these animals. We need more rescuers es like Sallipets Dog Rescue.

If only there were more places like this. They had as many dogs as they could take. Breaks my heart knowing people go to breeders instead. This place doesnt euthanise but sad reality is that some have to.

Rehomed a staffie x over 3 months ago. Did an initial 1 week trial which worked out well and went from there. Would recommend.
Disabled and discriminated against by Sallipets
A few months ago, I contacted Sallipets about adopting a dog. I explained that other rescues wouldn't let me adopt from them as I am disabled - my mobility is very poor. I was so very upset when I was accused by the owner, Rolanda, not only of being a "troll" but also being a fake. Rolanda said that I had blocked her and she posted a screenshot of our dialogue on Messenger but it was obvious for all to see that she had blocked me!!!
This is a genuine review and I can show anyone who is interested screen prints which back up this review. I am neither a troll or a liar and take exception to be called one.
Please proceed with caution because I can see that each and every negative review is duly labelled as fake by Rolanda when, in fact, all those that praise this woman and her 'rescue' are likely to be fake. I have since discovered that Rolanda uses loads and loads of different accounts under various guises.
I am more than happy
I am more than happy. Ive struggled to find a dog with rescues as i have a cat. Kai gets along with my cat very well so thanks for saving me from having to go to a breeder.
A ver nice lady
A ver nice lady. No dogs were in cages but roaming her garden albeit not huge. One dog was on its own but gad the largest area to itself. Seems genuinely a person who rescues.

Every review left less than 5 stars gets reported and removed. Not an honest company avoid using them at all costs.

Ignore the negative reviews !
I’m not sure where all the negative reviews have come from, or the stories about neglected animals and them not being a charity? The lady that runs this rescue is so invested in the welfare of the dogs in her care, our rescue unfortunately didn’t go to plan, as our adopted dog and current dog clashed, she met me half way to drop the dog back to her and you could tell the dog loved her, she was so happy to be reunited, it was lovely to see. The dogs all had access to food, water and enrichment, I think people are too used to going to dog rescues and seeing them all locked in crates rather than free roaming and having fun! The rescue was very invested in making sure there dogs were child friendly, and really understood the impact that a dog can have on them and how useful they can be for autistic children.I hope our paths cross again and we can find a dog that will fit in with our other dog :)
A great experience in funding a dog
A great experience in funding a dog. She had about a dozen dogs, all healthy and a good weight. Not sure why there are so many vicious lies. Was also impressed that she takes in powerful dogs that no one else seems to take e.g she had multiple mastiffs and in comparison the local last chance only ever has more sellable small dogs.

Rehomed our dog
After contacting various other rescues without success with huge waiting lists and most of them full, I contacted Sallipets when we needed to rehome our family dog we had for just over 3 years, sadly we were working more hours we just couldn't give him the time he needed. Ro was so understanding, caring and kind, she understood our situation. After meeting with her she showed us round her home and we met the dogs in her care which were well looked after.said she would find him a lovely home. She kept us updated all the time with videos and pictures of him and how he was doing. He has now found a lovely family and she has put us in contact so we can see how he's doing.
🙏 please don't believe all the negative comments and trolls that give her such a hard time, Ro is a totally amazing person who would do absolutely anything for the dogs in her care.x thank you so much Ro for all your help and support with our very difficult decision.x
