Question on the authenticity
I recently bought two perfumes from Scent Outlet; one for myself and one for my husband. Unfortunately, both scents disappeared very quickly after applying them. I could understand if one perfume had a lighter scent, but having the same issue with both seems unusual. It makes me question the authenticity or quality of the fragrances. I’m quite disappointed, especially after paying nearly £40 of my hard-earned money. I expected much better longevity from both perfumes.

Please rest assured that every fragrance we sell is 100% genuine and sourced directly from trusted UK distributors. We never deal in imitations, though scent strength and longevity can vary quite a bit depending on the type (Eau de Toilette vs. Eau de Parfum), skin chemistry, or even things like temperature or a recent cold without realising.
If you’re unsure, we offer a free independent quality check service simply get in touch with our customer service team and we’ll arrange for the fragrances to be verified independently. If there’s any issue at all, even if a faulty batch, we’ll happily replace or refund them straight away.

I don't know what I was expecting from my first order when it said damaged packaging. I thought they might be loose bottles, but most were perfect, with seals. I have discovered some new favourites that I would never have tried at full price, and am about to place a second order straight away. Fast delivery and updated with progress from start to finish. I've ordered from Scent Outlet about fives times over the last twelve months. I'm generally happy with my order, prices, dispatch and delivery. I've had a couple of very low cost items either cancelled or substituted due to availability but because my orders were relatively large it wasn't a problem for me. Stock accuracy is probably the area they need to improve on but apart from that, all good. :)

The MOST bizarre experience I have ever...

So here goes again, in case you didn't catch it the first time.
Scent Outlet have never explained why they had the bare-faced cheek to ask a fully paying customer for personal data or why they never fulfilled the orders placed...even though they are super quick to take payment and try hold onto it for dear life. 🔐 Just as well I got my money back and then some 😉

The MOST bizarre experience I have ever encountered shopping with a retailer. I have bought perfume from here before without much issue, save for slightly delayed deliveries. The most recent purchases with them left a really bad taste in my mouth. Scent Outlet were happy enough to take my money for several orders but after a week, have yet to dispatch anything. I waited patiently thinking I would give them the benefit of the doubt. But by the following week, I emailed the customer care team asking about my outstanding orders.
I received a reply asking for a letterhead with my name and address on it because of the value of order. The most expensive being about £60 I might add. 🤔 Hmm that’s strange, never come across that before and I’ve spent way more at other retailers without ever being asked to hand over proof of ID. I can’t help feeling that this is simply a delay tactic and maybe something else shady going on.
Why would they need proof of anything when they have already taken my money but not delivered the goods? The last communication I received after chasing them up yet again, is that it’s now with another team for review. WTAF is this? I’m buying perfume not a vehicle on HP or a phone contract requiring a credit check. Imagine being a grown adult being subjected to data protection infringement, just to obtain some value priced fragrance? Is this real life?? I went back and forth with them via email, even copying in the CEO/Director Sanjay Jayantilal Vadera . You won’t get any straight answers on the tel. no. 0161 541 8000. Even though Scent Outlet amongst others is a subsidiary of The Fragrance Shop, sharing the same director. I’m still waiting to hear whether I’ve been ‘approved’ and deemed worthy of spending my coins on some perfume that has yet to be delivered. I don’t know if I ever will receive my orders from Scent Outlet or whether I will need to take this up with PayPal and Trading Standards but I will update. Needless to say I will never shop here again. Too many similar and better fragrance retailers out here, to be dealing with this 💩
UPDATE 4 days later: I still haven’t heard anything from Scent Outlet. They are actively avoiding my emails and calls at this point. On 2 occasions I have been told by agent on the phone that a manager would be getting back to me on the same day - of course they never do. So I have referred to Trading Standards and raised a claim through PayPal to get my money back. It is the only way to get a refund of the money taken by these con artists.
Do not trust this company!!
Info: Scent Outlet is a dormant company since its incorporation in 2020. Therefore it’s safe to say that essentially SO is The Fragrance Shop using the trading name Scent Outlet. As a matter of fact, Sanjay and his brother own & run quite a few companies like this and all operate from the same address: Fragrance Quarters, Mosley Road, Trafford Park, Manchester, England, M17 1LE
(in case anyone wants to send their complaints there)
Sanjay does appear to be aware of the shady practices that these businesses engage in.
Need a refund? Go through your bank, credit card provider or PayPal.
Also report to Trading Standards or even MP.
Breaches of privacy or GDPR (private info rights) should be reported to the Information Commissioner.
Any misuse of your finances? Report to FSC or Financial Ombudsman.
Hope this helps any potential victims of these unscrupulous sharks. Do not waste your time going back & forth with the non existent customer services, apart from to keep a record that you put them on notice of non delivery/partial delivery/request for refund etc. Their tactic is to delay and obfuscate. So they will say things like “someone or another team is looking into it”; “wait another 10 days”; “manager will contact you”…you get the gist.
In the end I was satisfied with Paypal's resolution and received compensation. Scent Outlet, be careful with the customers you play with, they might just match your energy.

They sell copies of perfumes, the perfume stops smelling after 10 minutes. I wrote to them in gmail, they didn't find anything. They are scammers. And I don't recommend anyone to buy perfumes from them.
