I bidded for what I thought was a 1st…

I bidded for what I thought was a 1st class upgrade.

I feel rather cheated as I seem to have bidded for a standard upgrade.

Apparently a first class seat, but no food, drink or access into the lounge.

I don't think I will use them going forward

Outstanding

I run the risk of exposing this best kept secret! However, I feel obligated to let the world know how amazing Seatfrog is at allowing you to bag that last minute upgrade at unpublished prices. The app is a breeze. As for their Support, I have had to used them once, and they were outstanding. Wish I could give them more than 5 stars!

Reluctant to refund ‘admin’ fee

When the rail service was cancelled, although LNER accepted the claim for refund (including upgrade fee), neither they nor Seatfrog apparently take responsibility for refunding Seatfrog’s ‘platform’ fee.

Although, as a one-off ‘gesture of goodwill’, Seatfrog have now offered to refund the fee, that this isn’t automatic seems to be an attempt to subvert UK consumer laws.

To clarify how this works: Seatfrog acts as an intermediary and our service is to facilitate and issue the upgrade on behalf of the train operator. The platform fee relates to that service, which is completed once the upgrade is issued. When a train is cancelled, refunds and compensation for travel (including the upgrade itself) are handled by the train operator, which is why LNER processed that part of your claim.

Platform or booking fees are not automatically refundable across the ticketing industry, as they cover payment processing and delivery of the service already provided. That said, we always aim to be fair and helpful, which is why — on this occasion — we refunded the fee as a gesture of goodwill, even though it isn’t something we’re required to do.

We take UK consumer law seriously and are sorry this wasn’t clearer at the time. We appreciate the feedback and will use it to improve how we explain this process going forward.

Brilliant customer service

Brilliant customer service from Eibhilín.
Refund sorted out instantly when are train had been cancelled.

I use seat frog regularly, so it’s great to see when I have had a problem it’s been a seamless experience.

I booked a ticket from London to…

I booked a ticket from London to Liverpool but no ticket came through even though sent them emails they kept saying ticket was sent to your email because of that I had to purchase another ticket which cost me more very disappointed with this service no phone number to contact only email.

Simple refund process from seatfrog

Bought an upgrade but the train was declassified (no first class) - the upgrade hadn’t been scanned so I filled in the seatfrog refund form and had an email within 24 hours that they would refund me.
Not a great outcome on the train front but great service from seatfrog

Couldn’t recommend this enough!

Couldn’t recommend this enough!! Had a mini meltdown after making a mistake on the app as I was new to the platform and I reached out to customer service which was really easy and a lady called Ella absolutely saved my day, dealt with me quickly and gave me the reassurance I needed! Thank you so much ☺️

Customer service, a nice surprise nowadays.

As a company, and a product they are great for upgrading my travel at a reasonable cost. When the train company let me down, I got in contact and they’ve resolved my refund in great time, Eibhilín S was polite, professional, and almost seemed as annoyed as I was 😊. Was a really nice change from other customer service that can seem like you’re at fault somehow.

Change of train ticket

I’ve had to change my departure time to Bristol from London Paddington. This with one month notice. Seatfrog operator Ella V was beyond helpful and super organised. Excellent communication with her and this Company. Highly recommended

They are so responsive and really excellent customer service

They are so responsive and really helpful. They don't charge an admin fee to book your fare or to process a refund and they make the refund process straightforward.
Customer service via email is the best I have experienced in a very long time.
Also it is fantastic to be able to bid for first class upgrades at very good prices - and to get these refunded if through no fault of your own you haven't been able to use the upgrade. Strongly recommend using this platform.

Great customer service and no hassle refund…

My train had been cancelled due to flooding and I was expecting a painful process to request a refund. I was pleasantly surprised by how straightforward it was (although you do need a few bits of information which you can get from the app), and the response was very quick. Eibhilín dealt with my request very efficiently and with a lovely focus on customer service.

Don’t buy train tickets from this…

Don’t buy train tickets from this company.

I’ve bought many upgrades from Seatfrog before but decided to buy my first train ticket. My train was cancelled due to the storms in Cornwall on Jan 10th. Seatfrog customer services and trying to get any sort of communication let alone refund is AWFULL.

Trainline is always super easy and super simple for refunds - as it should be.

I won’t book with Seatfrog again.

Excellent customer service from Mollie.

After my train was cancelled, I processed a claim for a refund for the upgrade fee. This was easy to do, and processed within 24 hours, with a very good customer relations email, from Mollie, explaining the refund was completed and time for it to hit the bank. Happy with the service and will continue to use and recommend seat frog to friends and family

Fantastic service

Fantastic service, my trains were cancelled so I was unable to use my upgrades. I applied to Seatfrog for a refund and Mollie dealt with my claim, My refund was dealt with very quickly, efficiently and so much quicker than the train company who had actually cancelled my trains. Thank you so much
