Getting 0.10 Mbps down at my grandparents house. They’re total scammers. These rates in 2026 is absurd.

They rob the elderly, people!!! Gonna have to tell them that it’s a scam and show them all the other reviews and get them to cancel their subscription with this dogwater company

I took a call yesterday on behalf of my mother whose in her 90s from Sparta Telecom. The caller claimed to be working with Openreach and Utility Warehouse regarding the digital switchover. It took me 30 minutes to realise that they are just trying to get customers to change contract by confusion and move to a new company. Absolutely appalling behaviour and I'm so cross it took me so long to realise. It was the talk of new Direct Debits, contracts and that they had no customer details that made me hang up. Also the name given by the caller should have set alarm bells ringing. Avoid the company.

They pretend to be British telecom and try to sign up 82 year old ladies and signing them up for contracts and asking whether son or daughter has power of attorney to intervene! Absolutely scandalous scammers don’t touch with a barge pole!

Just called my elderly parents and started with the scare tactics about the digital switchover, then to tell them they are taking over their current provider.

By the end of the call my parents had signed up to a new broadband connection and phone switch and only at the very last minute did they say they were calling from Sparta.

The saddest part is their website bangs on about their vulnerable person policy that includes AGE but judging by the reviews on here, all they do is call vulnerable folk up to trick them.

I urge EVERYONE who's elderly parents have been duped by this firm to report it to Ofcom, they need closing down.

I have the same problem as others in that I have an elderly mother who has been told that Talk Talk has been bought out by Sparta Telecom and that they were migrating customers over. Total lie, reminiscent of what happened in the electricity market 20 years ago. Had the pleasure of phoning their customer services - they’re going to investigate and call me back (yeah right) - so filled out an ofcom complaint form.

SCAM company cold calling my 98 yr old elderly relative and conning him into a contract. I cancelled on his behalf within the 14 day period and surprise surprise no refund has appeared. reporting to national fraud and trading standards . company linked to Reliable Appliance Repairs

This company contacted my parents who are in their mid-eighties and not very tech-savvy. They convinced them that their TalkTalk account was migrating to their company and made them change router.
They've had endless connection problems and phone line is down and I found out today that TalkTalk have now fined them £200 for endling their contract early which they had no knowledge of.
Sparta's phone line claims to be "busy" with an illiterate message and despite emailing them have received no reply. SCAM company that I will be seeking legal advice against.

Our neighbour received a call purporting to be from Sparta on behalf of Talk Talk, migration to digital landline via Openreach. Total scam. Not sure if Sparta are involved or maybe callers are impersonating them. Either way he refused to give information over the phone despite threats that his computer would crash!

Got cold-called by these dishonest people,
He claimed he was from "the broadband supplier" and wanted to talk about "digitising the broadband".
When questioned further he suggested he was from "BT the broadband" about upgrading the account to digitalised. Then he claimed he was "working with Openreach". He was very cagey about saying what company he was working for to the point of lying. It turns out he's from some tiny company "Sparta Telecom" who are being very dodgy in trying to get people to switch their broadband service without knowing it. I've since read about how they take advantage of old people who end up having Direct Debits taken from their account without knowing it. He was really a horrid man, and I'm glad i could call him out on the scam.

Had a realy scammy phone call from this company. An asian man very shifty and unwilling to say where he was calling from. Said he was calling about digitisation of lines connected to BT. Then said he was working with Openreach. When I pressed him to say where he was from he said "Sparta Telecom". Couldn't understand what name he was using - Sounded like he said "Ryan" by the asian accent was too thick to understand. Sounded very evasive and dodgy. Clearly a scammer in India/Pakistan

Received a phone call today 08/07/2026 advis ing that my phone line was being digitalized and would need a new hub for my broadband. Implied that they had the authority to handle the changes. Challenged why my existing supplier could not provide the same service and only then did the caller accept that he was trying to sell a service and did inot have the automatic right to my service. Could have stated straight away that he was a salesman for a different service provider. Very disappointing,v lose to scamming.

Stop hassling & pressurising OAPs! And with untruths too. I've had to spend the morning trying to calm my elderly parents down after one of your sales calls. Rest assured I'll be keeping an eye on their bank account to make sure you do not take any money from them!

Constantly harassing my elderly father to move from Talk Talk claiming everything under the sun. They push for information like DOB, bank details etc and claiming to be sending out new kit etc. Thankfully my dad has said go away but they are always rude and aggressive, "Do not leave sir, do not dare go away!".

Its worth noting that I called 0800 915 9396 and they added his number "DNC" list so they wouldnt contact him again. They also called back to say they found the last call in question and it was not up to the standards they expect. The individual is now under investigation and will be reprimanded.

Serious concerns about the way an elderly, vulnerable household (including a person with dementia) was transferred from BT to Sparta Telecom. We believe the switch was made through a misleading sales process without clear informed consent.

Three formal complaints were submitted in May 2026, including one sent directly to Managing Director Gopal Prasad Singh, but no meaningful response was received. When I eventually reached Sparta by phone, I was refused help and the call was ended. Further calls were unanswered.

Invoices have continued to increase while the account remains disputed, and Sparta has now threatened legal action.

We attempted to escalate through independent dispute resolution but were informed Sparta Telecom Ltd is not subscribed to CEDR/CISAS.

EDIT 21/07/26: We will now be reporting our concerns to Citizens Advice Consumer Service, who can refer appropriate cases to Trading Standards.

Very poor company, avoid completely, they prey on the elderly and have poor sales people who constantly call the person on the phone a liar when challenged by them to say how they extracted the details required, thankfully for them they where at the other end of a phone line and not sat directly in front of me

This company harassed my elderly uncle constantly phoning and asking for his details. When I got in touch asking politely for them to stop as he was confused upset and didn’t know what to do, they pushed back arguing they did nothing wrong. And then further asked me for my uncle’s details. Disgusting behaviour honestly. Says that they are all for customer service but when you express a concern all of a sudden you’re the one at fault.

Same experience as others. Fraudulent direct debit set-up on my 90 year old mothers bank account. Thieves!!
