Scammers, charging elderly & venerable people £165 every 6 months to manage broadband services.

I suspect that there is some misunderstanding, as we do not charge anything to manage your service. However, it could be a payment for the services for 6 months for phone and broadband and I would say that it is still cheaper than most of the big brands in the industry.

Have taken two unauthorised payments out of my father’s bank account without permission. When you contact them to discuss the matter they are very rude and obnoxious and unwilling to listen but have plenty to say. Had to end the call out of complete anger and frustration so have contacted the Financial Ombudsman. The company seem to like to pick on the elderly and vunerable. Be aware of this company. When you come out with the same responses it's not you its someone else, I think alot of people that add negative reviews about yourselves and get these same responses, may feel whats the point, you are clearly not interested you are an absolute shower of .... the reason we have put this scathing review is we did approach you and called you and your call handler was rude, belligerent didn't want to help and had a negative approach response to everything, so please don't try and want to help now and want to reach out and resolve anything, what's changed from your side ? You thieve pensioners of their hard earnt money and are an absolute disgrace and vile on the phone this is my response to your we can't do anything if you don't respond. You don't respond in a satisfactory manner, dismiss everything that is told to you, lie and make out it's not you it's everyone else. I have had to respond on here to the pathetic comeback below as there is nowhere to reply wonder if you ask trust pilot to do that on purpose ?????????? I am sorry that you feel this way. I would like to inform you that as per the regulations, the gaining service provider processes the request for switch over with-in the cooling off period and sends a written confirmation to the customer with the go live date and cooling off period end date, which ends before the go live date. The losing service provider is also simultaneously notified by the network to ensure all the formalities are performed before the switch over date along with sending a written confirmation to the customer notifying of any cancellation charges (if applicable) and the services customer will be losing as a result of the switch over from losing service provider to the gaining service provider. So, this is not some questionable selling technique but a standard switch over procedure in the UK telecom industry.
I respect your decision for cancellation of your order but would like to clarify that we as a company do not target elderly customers as you alleged in your review and have customers from all age groups.
Criminal scum
Criminal scum. Businesses like these pay organised crime gangs for details of older people with dementia to set up fraudulent payments for services that are run illegally. When they "Scammers don't send you payment confirmation letters". That is not true. In order to achieve the scam, scammers have to send these letters out to prevent money being clawed back later, otherwise a victim could easily claim back the money at any time and the criminal scammers do not want that. They prey on elderly people with dementia. They are some of the scummiest people going.

I am sorry to know, how you feel about us. You have not responded to our request for information to know about your issue specifically. Also, you have not mentioned if you are sharing your own experience or giving your general viewpoint after specifically reading only low star reviews and our replies to them. I would disagree with you when you say, sending payment confirmation prevents claw backs, it is actually the other way round. When you send payment confirmation, you are highlighting the amount taken from customer's account or a direct debit activity to the customer. So, I again reiterate that "Scammers don't send you payment confirmation letters".
I urge you to kindly contact us on 0800 915 9396 should you wish to discuss any payments that have been taken out by Sparta Telecom and we will do everything possible to resolve the matter for you with your utmost satisfaction and hope this will change your perspective towards our company. I understand that there are many companies out there who prey on elderly and vulnerable people but I assure you that we are not one of them.

SCAM - They have preyed on my elderly mother and once they have the bank details they take £149. They have written to her as Reliable Appliance Services then take the payment as Sparta Telecom, I guess so you don't know it's them.

I also urge you to revisit your review and the words you have chosen. Scammers don't send you payment confirmation letters or rarely have a customer service, let alone having a public platform for customer review. Sparta Telecom is a reputed company and has been so for over a decade, I understand you are not happy with a transaction and assure you that we will do everything for the satisfaction of your mother should you contact us.
Fraud
I have just had to have the bank deal with an erroneous direct debit set up on my mothers account; yet more fraud from these type of companies trying to con the elderly!

Payment facilitator for scammers
My elderly mother had a direct debit from this company and when I contacted them to ask what it was, they informed me they were a payment facilitator for Reliable Appliance Repairs. The company has had many reports of scamming and therefore Sparta Telecom are assisting scammers.

You can also contact us should you feel that we can be of any assistance to you in resolving this matter. I would like to clarify that Sparta Telecom has been in the market for more than a decade and we do not assist or facilitate scammers, however, if there is any discrepancy related to payment collection (which is possible with any service provider) Reliable Appliance Repair should be able to resolve it for you.
Good Service
I have found sparta to be very good I have had very little trouble with the service, when I have had any issues, they have been dealt with quickly and efficiently, I would reccomend them with no hesitation.

I was without broadband for about a…
I was without broadband for about a month. You sent me a new router, which did not solve the problem and eventually you applied for help from Openreach. Nobody rang me but apparently this solved the problem ... except that when I and my computer professional tried, we still didn*t get any broadband. Aaron went away and did something wonderful and now everything works. Three cheers to Aaron (sorry if I spelt your name wrong).

I am sorry to know about the inconvenience you have faced in past months. I would like to add that the issue was related to an internal system error, which was caught in the checks Aaron performed when you reported the issue to him. He eventually resolved the issue by flagging the same error to the internal technical team. I would also like to clarify that Sparta Telecom, just like any other service provider follows the guidelines given by the Openreach to report and resolve any faults reported by the customer and we follow the same standard operating procedures.
I am glad that Aaron could help you with this issue but I accept that the error should have been picked up in earlier checks and the issue could have resolved earlier as well. Consequently, we have put measures in place to ensure the same situation is not repeated for any other customer in future.

Been with sparta telecom for over seven years it’s the cheapest phone and broadband I could find and the price has never increased over the past seven years
The Internet speeds are good considering we don’t have fibre in the area it’s been perfect for my business needs.

Scam! Scam! Scam!
This company seem to targeting elderly people- they thought they were speaking to a 86 year old.
I had to ask three times to get the name of the company, eventually having to get the caller to spell it. It was also a very poor quality line - not a great advert for selling telephone rental. Everything about the call screamed "scam"! Why do scanners always ask if you're having a nice day first?

I am writing to inform that we are unable to find any information by your name and number, which you have shared in our request for information. Also, there can be many reasons for a poor quality line and this can happen to any company or customer as it is a technical thing and can also be from either side not necessarily from the calling party.
Also, I am not sure if asking how are you doing today or if you are having a nice day is something limited to scams or scammers only. According to me these are just greetings that people use when talking to each other.
Kindly call us on our customer service number i.e. 0800 915 9396, so we can check the number in our database and put it in DNC list to avoid any future calls.

A fraudulent scam company. They scammed my elderly parents out of money. When you call them they say the invoice on behalf of a company called Reliable Appliance Repair. They have a phone that is not answered. Disgusting they re allowed to operate.

I have never received such exceptional service from any company in my life. My business landline was unexpectedly disconnected and moved to another network without my knowledge, causing major distress and resulting in lost sales and missed connections.
I contacted Sparta, and their service was nothing short of incredible. They spent hours tracking down the company that had wrongfully taken my number, working tirelessly to get my service resumed and back up and running.
A special thank you to Chris in their legal department, who took ownership of the issue and got everything sorted while maintaining a friendly and professional attitude throughout. Also, huge thanks to George and Arron in the customer service team for their support.
Massive well done to everyone involved! I’ve never experienced service like this anywhere before. Sparta truly went above and beyond, and I am incredibly grateful for their help. Highly recommend!

Fraudulent Debits
This company continually tries to re set up direct debits when they have been cancelled under the DD indemnity scheme, they just use a different reference. They will not provide evidence of the sales call of who has set up their services via their complaint procedure. Please be aware they are linked with other company names of Vee Network Ltd, Reliable Appliance Repairs and Live Telecom. We keep getting phone calls trying to confirm bank details and saying we are in a 3 year contract and offering money off. They have been advised to cancel any services and do not have permission to take any money !! .. BEWARE.
