xtremely disappointing experience with Splend. I would not recommend them.

From the outset, I raised a service warning issue at the time of vehicle handover and was assured it had been resolved and would clear. This turned out to be incorrect. Despite raising the issue repeatedly over several months, no meaningful action was taken.

The situation escalated further when the vehicle was removed from my address without prior notice or proper communication, and without resolving the underlying issue.

More concerning were multiple attempts to debit significant amounts from my bank account without clear explanation or agreement. These attempts were unexpected and remain disputed.

Overall, the experience has been stressful, poorly handled, and lacking in transparency and accountability. I am now pursuing this matter through formal channels.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Splend.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience, but we do need to clarify several points.

When reviewing the outgoing inspection photos, there is no evidence of a service warning present at handover. Our records show this was first raised via a call to our Customer Service team around three months after collection, at which point you were advised to book the vehicle with our service partner, Kwik Fit.

Your account also experienced repeated missed payments and ongoing arrears throughout the agreement. As outlined in the contract, this resulted in the vehicle being repossessed following non-payment.

The charges applied to your account relate to the agreed terms, including notice and minimum term charges, repossession, and missing items. There was also unreported damage identified across multiple areas of the vehicle.

We understand this has been a frustrating situation. If you would like further clarity, please reach out to the team.

I came to Splend for an accident. Jordan assisted me on filling out the forms and reports. I now have a replacement vehicle in less than 24hrs. Excellent service from Jordan and I appreciate his help, very kind!

Warning

I must warn everyone before you go with them. Initially, they will be incredibly polite and friendly, making me think, “Oh, these are very nice people.” However, after a year, I had to return the car. Again, there were no issues. During the offboarding process, they inspected the car, which returned without any new damage. I even saw him type this in.

48 days later, I woke up to find that Splend had attempted to charge my card £340 without any communication. It was completely unexpected. I had to call them and ask what was going on. Surprisingly, they found broken glass 48 days later. Thankfully, I had taken pictures of the damage even before I took the vehicle. I am grateful that all my money was in savings.

Having dealt with OTTOSCAM and WESCAM before, I was aware of their potential tactics. The one thing they missed was that I recorded every conversation, took pictures and videos, and recorded the offboarding meeting where the guy assured me there was no new damage. However, how scammy you need to be to charge the card without any communication is truly astonishing.

I want to offer some advice to all of you who are considering going with these scam artists. Record everything. Take pictures of everything, and block them from payment authorization as soon as you leave them. Trust me, it will save you a lot of trouble in the future.

Add:
Disregard this reply. I did e-mail them and guess what? Yep, nothing. No reply, absolute 0. Imagine if they charge your card 4 months later when you do not have any proofs anymore, what then? They charge your card and you will not get anything back. And they don't even reply. Be careful.

We take feedback like this seriously, but we do need to clarify the situation.

Our inspection records - both prior to and after your return - clearly show damage to the windscreen. While this was not identified during the initial offboarding inspection, it was later picked up during a subsequent vehicle check and review of the inspection history. Based on this, the charge was applied in line with our process.

We understand you have your own photos and recordings, and we are happy to review these alongside our records. We also have full documentation of the inspections and can provide this if you would like to see it.

If you would like us to go through the glass damage in detail, please get in touch and we will be happy to review everything with you.
