I would definitely use Tier1 to buy a recon laptop again
I was recommended to tier1 by my old IT manager who uses them to buy reconditioned laptops for his clients. I found the website easy to navigate and the listing of the spec easy to follow. I did phone the company for confirmation on one laptop which didn't list which version of bluetooth was installed but after speaking to someone who promised to phone me back but didn't I made another choice (hence only 4 stars). The laptop arrived quickly and was well packaged. The spec is as I ordered and at a brilliant price (under £300). I have recommended Tier1 to a couple of friends who need to update their home laptops.

Unfortunately the first laptop was faulty, however Tier 1 wasted no time in sending a fully working replacement. It's beautiful! It's a grade B machine and looks like new. Very impressed with both the laptop and the company!

After 3 laptops
After 3 laptops, at least, they take computers with a cpu designed for a specific use MICROSOFT XP for example, but load windows 7 e.g. BUT then upgrade other hardware WHICH leads to overheating, motherboard failure, HHD failure (both experienced by me) and a lot of trouble to rectify IF within warranty period.
AVOID. Too many failures for me to ever use them again. Just buy new computers designed for the job. This company fails; they even asked me to do a remote ‘fix’ which failed and a replacement laptop was sent out- I cloned the HHD myself to a modern SSD - more resistant to heat - but it cannot be relied upon.m according to the way it is degrading owing to heat build up.
ZERO STARS - avoid- save money and trouble - buy new in a sale.

Absolutely excellent
Absolutely excellent. Very quick to answer phone, very quick to check and give exact feedback concerning a specific actual machine, and made a special effort to expedite delivery, which arrived even sooner than hoped for.
ALSO, the staff member concerned was easy to re-contact by phone, voicemail and email, and responded very quickly every time. Most impressive experience I have had in a very long time. :-)

Fast service and laptop received in…
Fast service and laptop received in perfect condition. This was listed as grade A but was even better and almost 'as new'. I have used Tier 1 since their early days in 1997 and they have always provided great refurbished quality PC's and Laptops at a great price.

Desktop arrived in good time and condition
Desktop arrived, working, up to date, clean, and ready to go.
However, I wanted to put in an extra ssd, but when I looked there was no thermal pads!
Initially I thought, no big deal. So I looked on Amazon, but nothing. So I looked on the Dell website, and to my horror, they are £35s each, for a tiny bit of sponge.
Apart from me needed to spend a small fortune to put an add ssd in the pc. All good.

Ordering was made easy
Ordering was made easy. Delivery was fast. One product out of three of the delivery was badly damaged, but was replaced with no fuss. Packaging was excellent and not at fault for the single damaged item. Laptop was listed as Grade B and I was happy that the received item met my expectations of Grade B. Customer service was fast and effective with regards to the one damaged item
