I lost my beautiful dog Ellie in May and had to wait until June to put in my claim due to issues with my vet,I have to say I was most impressed with both the speed in which my claim was paid and the way it was handled.I chose to have the money paid directly to me due to the issues with my vet and discovered that there was a short fall in the claim amount my vet had sent to waggel.I had to put in a further claim just last week after my vet argued that the blood test I had paid for could not be claimed.I contacted waggel and was advised to put in a further claim and it was accepted and I have received the money in less than a week.It has been a prolonged and upsetting experience with my vet but Waggel showed total compassion and sympathy.I thoroughly recommend them.

There is a 14-day waiting period for pre-existing conditions which ends 29/06/2026
The first chargeable visit to the vet was 30/06/2026
Symptom start date mentioned to the vet on the 30/06/2026 as being 28/06/2026 (which could’ve been MINUTES before the end of the end of the waiting period).
Claim denied - £650 vet bill.

Reviewed my claim quickly, with no fuss, and paid out just as quickly. A huge weight off my mind when I was worried about my dog.

Good service
We sadly lost our dog recently and had to make a claim for the surgery. I have to say that everything Waggel had promised was true in our experience. It was straight forward and the portal was easy. They're paying our vet directly up to the agreed excess.
We will use them again with our new pup.

Easy to set up
I applied for pet insurance to start on the day i collected my puppy then the breeder said they were providing 4 weeks free insurance so i cancelled my Waggels insurance which was easy and reinstated it for 4 weeks on.
I have not yet made any claims so cannot comment on that yet.

The claims process wasn't simple but the team did support us well and answered emails and phone calls quickly and politely. And claim was successfully paid. Although it was a faff.
Less endearing was a 90% premium increase which would recover payment made over 17 months.

Claim wait times are unacceptable
I chose Waggel because they had good reviews; however, i am disappointed and frustrated and wish I'd gone to another company. My cat has Pet Plan and their response time for claims is super fast. I've been waiting almost 5 weeks and despite my reaching out numerous time nothing has happened. My vet sent them the requested paperwork 3 weeks ago, yet today they called my vet asking for the exact same information...why??? My ckaim has supposedly been 'escalated', whatever that means.
