Had to claim for a related issue with my dog. Was able to have payment made directly to the vet and this time things were dealt with smoothly and quickly. Waggal were great had issues in the past with the claim taking longer than expected but no complaints this time. Really happy with their service.

Simple to claim. Answered some further questions and claim approved. Good efficient service over all. Paid direct to the vets.

Very easy and quick website to use. So for quickness and proficiency was 5 star.

But we've yet to make a claim so that's when the proof in the pudding will be

I would not insure a pet with Waggel again.

When my dog Basil was diagnosed with a high-grade mast cell tumour, I submitted a claim while having to make urgent and expensive decisions about his treatment.

My claim was submitted on 15 January. Waggel did not ask for basic information about Basil’s breed until 15 February, contacted my vet for clarification on 18 February, received the answer on 19 February and declined the claim on 20 February.

I complained about both the decision and the time taken to deal with the claim. I subsequently referred the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service. The investigator did not uphold my complaint, although they concluded that the five-week claim decision was “slightly longer than we’d usually say was fair.” They considered Waggel’s notification that it was experiencing delays sufficient and did not award compensation.

Regardless of that outcome, my experience was that I spent weeks making decisions about cancer investigations and treatment without knowing whether I had insurance cover, while the basic enquiries that ultimately led to the decision weren’t made until the final few days.

Sadly, Basil has since died. Based on my experience of how the claim was handled at an extremely difficult time, I would not use Waggel again.

Highly recommend ...i lost my little man and everyone at Waggel was so lovely and kind .. I received updates on claims and even the bot was helpful. Everything online was so easy. Thank you team Waggel

You were really kind to me when I lost my Rosie. I have now got a new pup, Milo and I know he will be looked after just as well.

We chose Waggel due to their price and after eighteen months had to make a claim. They kept in contact, especially when they had a high number of claims to let us know it would take longer than usual, and then let us know that our claim had been sorted and paid, along with a breakdown of what had been paid and a personal email to hope our dog was doing well. They were always available for questions and when your dog is unwell and the vet bill comes in, it's already worrying and something that could have been so crippling they made feel a lot easier. They paid the claim directly to our vet and all we had left to pay was our excess which we already knew we had to cover. A great experience and hopefully we don't ever have to claim again, but I'm confident if we do it will be just as hassle free and mentally reassuring.

Slow in payout but sorted fairly quickly

I pay over £35 per month for my dog. Alledgely dental is covered. The vet wasn't sure if she had a cracked tooth. They recommended anaesthetic and xray and gave her a scale and polish. Luckily the tooth wasn't cracked.

Waggl failed to pay out as my dog hadn't had a dental chekup in the last 12 month.

It took a month for them to come to this decision.

The service and support from Waggel is exceptional. Currently the time to receive feedback on my pre-authorisation is slightly longer than I feel it should be. That being said, the process is well structured and easy to carry out, and the communication is warm and personalised

Easy to get the quote, used my fundraiser app and had monies donated to my paws on hearts cause, will know how good they really are if I need to use them! Colleagues have used and given positive reports.

Reimbursement of claims has been much slower recently.
However, after disputing a deduction it was reviewed & corrected within 2 weeks.

Have not been at all helpful I wished I had never used them

Waggel as always are great handling claims. No hassle, transparent and always available to communicate with.

I’d like to give Waggel the highest rating. Even though I had to wait a while—which is understandable given the high volume of claims—the team is always helpful and responds quickly. I recommend them.

Worst insurance pet company ever. Reasons why to not take out insurance with them:
1. They can take months to process claims
2. Their website is not easy to understand or use
3. They do everything they can to not pay for claims
4. Absolute waste of money
