I was based in Houston, and that part of my journey became especially meaningful because of the incredible support I received there. Like many au pairs, my experience didn’t start perfectly—I went through a challenging placement that was emotionally difficult at times. However, what truly made the difference was my Local Coordinator, Muna.

Muna was absolutely amazing. From the moment I needed help, she was there—supportive, understanding, and genuinely caring. She took the time to listen to me, guided me through a tough situation, and made sure I felt safe and supported every step of the way. Being far from home can feel overwhelming, especially when things don’t go as planned, but Muna created a sense of stability and trust that meant everything to me during that time.

Thanks to her support, I was able to move forward, rematch, and find a much better placement where I could truly enjoy the au pair experience. From there, everything changed for the better. I built a wonderful relationship with my host family, created strong bonds with the children, and fully embraced life in Houston. I was able to explore the city, meet new people, and grow in confidence and independence.

Houston will always hold a special place in my heart—not just because of the experiences I had, but because of the support system I found there through Muna. She goes above and beyond for her au pairs, and it’s clear that she truly cares about both the au pairs and the host families she works with.
