Despite repeated, reasonable efforts to engage in a direct conversation with the Au Pair USA team regarding their decision to remove our family from the program, we received no meaningful response or opportunity to clarify the situation. We were labeled as “not a good fit” without a transparent explanation, despite years of commitment to the program and full compliance with their policies.

Throughout our time as hosts, we supported multiple au pairs and addressed several serious incidents responsibly—one involving drug use during work hours, and another resulting in a major injury to one of our children due to poor supervision. We documented and reported these events in good faith, followed staff recommendations, and provided a safe, welcoming, and communicative environment.

The lack of accountability and unwillingness to discuss these matters raises serious concerns about fairness, transparency, and how host families are evaluated. Our experience reflects not a failure on our part, but systemic issues in match quality and program responsiveness. We remain deeply disappointed in how this was handled and hope future host families are treated with greater professionalism and care.
