The boots looked great but were so narrow, with the zip and laces undone I still couldn't get them on! These were a style of jodhpur boot not long boots and other brands fit me normally. I ordered them as I thought the zip would be a fast way to take them on and off for convenience. Anyway, after struggling to get one on I realised they weren't for me. 3 stars as the return process is easy, sent them back today.

I received my Quebec Boots in September 2023. I wore them for beach and country park dog walks for the first time in October 2023. I found them very comfortable. I wore them intermittently over the winter, preferring snow boots on the colder days.

I returned to wearing them more regularly (3-4 days per week) in February 2024. It was during this period of wear that I noticed that the boots were letting in water. On the wetter days, I returned to using my old walking shoes.

I returned to wearing the boots again recently and my feet were very wet. I've stopped wearing them.

I am incredibly disappointed with my Quebec boots. At this price point you expect greater longevity.

I contacted Bareback, they requested a photograph of the boots and signposted me to their warranty (6 months). The problem is not visible and having read their warranty, and the reviews on here, I realised that any further engagement was unlikely to be fruitful.

A 6 months wear and tear warranty for high-end, leather boots is poor. At this price point you expect greater longevity and the design/production should ensure that.

First time I have dealt with Bareback footwear, and apart from being really pleased with my boots, the customer service I received was absolutely fantastic, query’s were answered very swiftly, and resolved, I have had a terrible experience with Dubarry footwear, and customer service in the past, so it was an absolute treat to deal with Bareback footwear. Would highly recommend them.

Absolutely lovely boots and really good and personal customer service. The company take time to work with you rather than providing generic answers. The Kentucky boots didn’t work for my feet and ankles, so they advised me to swap to the Blair and they’ve barely been off my feet since! Warm, waterproof and somehow surviving a very muddy Fenland winter with minimal care - but they scrub up beautifully too! I’ve been recommending them to everyone I know.

Love my Bareback boots. I now have 3 pairs - and there will be more. Comfy, stylish and well made.
Great customer service too, they have helped with suggestions for my wide feet several times and there have been no quibbles on returning or getting replacements for any styles that did not fit.

Bought Kentucky Jodhpur Riding Boots - Navy. After 3 wears one of which was indoors they leaked badly - I only walked across some mown grass with the dogs, I was not crossing a stream or standing in a puddle. I went back to customer services politely to ask if I should return them, as I personally expect boots costing over £100 to be basically waterproof.
Their comment is basically tough!
"there may be some confusion regarding the waterproof feature of the boots "
"Please keep in mind that boots worn outdoors, assuming there is no manufacturing fault, are typically ineligible for returns or exchanges"
Apparently "these boots do not include the bootie construction and waterproof membrane" although they are described as for Everyday, Riding and Walking.

So unless you are going to wear these boots on sunny days or entirely in an indoor school then don't both buying them as you will get wet feet and they will wash their hands of that matter.
I am really upset about this and have told them so.
These boots were a birthday present from my teenage son, who saved hard to treat me to them. I feel he has been robbed.
Never had this problem with leather Ariats, Tredstep or Mountain Horse riding boots. They have all allowed me to walk across wet grass without getting soaking wet feet!

So buyer beware. Buy these and don't ever get them damp! Good luck trying to do that round a yard.

I now see that Bareback have replied. They have not offered any solution or "Fair resolution" to quote. Their customer service says not their problem. Very disappointed indeed. They are happy to sell products not fit for purpose and offer no resolution other than to buy a different product.
The product on the website say "need maximum levels of waterproofing" which implies to me that these should have a basic level of waterproofing which they clearly do not.

The company clearly does not like HONEST reviews on an independent review site preferring just their "happy" customers on their own site!

note that the boots themselves had only 5 star reviews on the seller's own website, which might not be trustworthy.

within 2 weeks of owning the boots, the foam padding in the heel of the boot has folded over, leaving a large bump that digs uncomfortably into the heel and has caused blisters. seeing as these boots cost 129 pounds, i would expect them to take longer than 2 weeks before they start to fall apart.

I have contacted the company and will update the review if they are prepared to do anything about this.

I know it is always a gamble to buy footware online and in my case, with arthritic feet, unfortunately the ankle boots I ordered did not fit comfortably.
However, with a free-return of the boots and within a few days of returning, I received an email from them to say a full refund was already in my account.
Therefore I would say buy with complete confidence, their customer service is first class.

A really great pair of ankle boots, beautiful quality and comfortable already.
They were delivered very quickly and well packed too.
Delighted with this purchase, l saw my friend wearing some, tried hers on and decided l had to treat myself!

I now own 3 pairs of Bareback boots and my family are also now sporting them. I keep coming back because they are the most comfortable boots I own, and they do exactly what they say on the tin. I live in my Hudson Storm and Rocky Winter waterproof boots; they are unfailingly comfortable and my feet stay dry and warm. They are just at home round the yard, doing the horses, walking the dogs or tramping over the hills on longer walks. The staff on the end of the phone are super helpful (and accurate) with advice on sizing and fit.
Today I happened to be in the area and made a trip to the shop. It is an Aladdin's Cave of boots! If you're in the area it's definitely worth a trip. I ended up buying a pair of Andalucia boots because they were too gorgeous to leave behind and I know from previous experience they will be a good investment. Thank you for making such brilliant boots!

I love these boots I wear them on the yard when I ride and have a pair to wear at shows they are so comfortable and smart.

Despite testing my Bareback boots around the house, I found they started to rub my heel when dog walking. The heel area is made of very thick leather which appears to make the boots likely to rub.
Only when I contacted the company did I discover that they believe that their boots may need ‘wearing in’. According to the list of advice they issue, it may be necessary to a variety of things such as putting Vaseline on your feet to avoid rubbing.
I have tried hard with the boots but they are still sitting unworn.

Despite what it says on their website the company is not interested post- sale. They will be very polite and roll out platitudes, but that’s all.
Whoever writes their website wording and follow up sales emails is very convincing but the product and company doesn’t live up to the promises and expectations they set.

Found this company by chance. I wanted a decent pair of waterproof boots and thought I would take the gamble , I’m so glad I did . I ordered the Ottawa boots they are Fantastic , fabulously comfy and well made . The thing that stands out though is the customer service. Uk based company I called they answered and they gave great advice . I’m sharing with everyone , they deserve the business ❤️

Ordered boots from the company. They arrived scratched. The company helped by upgrading postage for a second pair, that arrived the following day. Even included some care products. Just awaiting refund on the pair I returned however, good quality shoes and helpful customer service.

I thought that’s choosing a different style this time they be close but never imagined that they be like putting on a pair of gloves, comfortable slippers.
I’m waiting a hip replacement and finding shoes that are comfortable is near impossible, today I slipped my feet into these boots and instantly my ankle pain disappeared and less stress on my bad hip

These are THE BEST boots anyone could ever have the pleasure of wearing!! Straight out of the box, no blisters, no other issues- just incredibly comfy, warm and properly waterproof! I wasn’t sure about which size to order and although they offer free returns I got help right away- very nice personal email answering my question and providing support. Delivery was quick and you could see that everything is done with love and care! To say I am very happy would be the understatement of the century. I also have custom made insoles and when taking out the super soft ones the shoes come with, they fit in perfectly including my foot (which is not a given at all!)

Bareback footwear is simply AMAZING . Their site is easy to use the hardest part is deciding which pair you want . I got some Kentucky storm boots and they are by far the warmest , prefect fit pair of boots I’ve ever owned .

I would normally avoid buying footwear on line; my instinct was that Bareback Footwear could be an exception, and I was right. Emma's detailed and expert knowledge about the footwear she sells, and the quality of the product (I bought a pair of Quebec boots) leads me to highly recommend this company.
