Absolutely rip off, I was quoted £249 and they took out £295, I wasn’t aware off the vat when taking my card details, that was very slyly put in. They sub contract the work out to local contractors who they pay £60. I’m a 60 year woman and this is the first time I’ve been so ripped off, lesson for the future, read reviews first!!!!

Absolutely appalling!!!! First the way they speak to you over the phone when going to book or enquiring about it is discussing!! Rang about my wasps nest at the back of my house, came out and paid £132 for 2minutes work!!!! No wonder they ask for the payment before they come out! Wish I had read the other reviews before getting them out!! Came out and said the nest was in the roof but still sprayed the stuff, but where did they spray if saying the nest is in the roof…plus didn’t even go up to have a look to see where it was!!! TOTAL SCAM if you ask me!! They need everyone reporting them to the trade and stands!! DO NOT use these!!!!

Got a phone call to say they could do the job till Thursday!!
When I asked to speak to a manager I was told there wasn't anyone in the building. Really!!
I have now found a proper company at is doing the job tomorrow morning for half the price.
He warned I should have look at there reviews before wasting my time.

Disgraceful company. They even lied to me about being a local company - THEY ARE NOT. They charge double what a local firm will charge. All they do is sub-contract a local specialist who gets paid half of what they charge. When I challenged them about being a local company, the very same person said they didn’t say this… oh yes you did Debbie! DO NOT USE!!

Disgraceful company. Called out to deal with a wasps nest, when I was away, my 17 year old had to deal with them. Told her they couldn't find the nest, charged £130 to spray a few wasps with a spray in my dining room (which we could have done). I have found the nest, which is on the roof and they now want another £78 to come out and deal with it. Do not use this company.

Absolutley shocking. Here to treat wasps nest. They took around 2-3 minutes to spray powder. Never looked for the nest, blamed it on the fruit trees which have been there for at least 10 years. Never had a problem before. My garden is surrounding in fruit trees and we have never had this problem. Phoned them for a return visit and they said would charge again because its the trees. Told them not to bother! We know there was a nest as we found some of the remains of it on the floor. £130.00 for 2 mins work - Calculates to around £3,900.00 per hour. Why are they still in business? Need reporting to trading standards. People are going to them for help and being taotally ripped off!

Great service, seen within 4 hours on a Sunday afternoon for a wasp nest that was making its way through our ceiling. Reasonable price, friendly and efficient service, and effective pest control on the first visit - definitely recommend.

This company is shocking and can't get hold of anyone until you pay I've said I'm in touch with trading standards and citizens advice and would hate for anyone else to waste money on these low life money grabbing company that can't even pay their contractors who I spoke to and maybe that's why they have put a statement up saying they are no longer using them

We are a pest control company who did work for ERG. They do not pay their contractors. We did several jobs for them and 3 months later have NOT BEEN PAID. We know for a fact they took exorbitant amounts of money from several customers ON THE DAY we did the job and 3 months later we have not received a penny despite emails from them promising payment. They are crooks basically and I cannot understand why they are still in business. Every review I have seen about them is negative (apart from one which I believe they wrote themselves) We are taking them to court and have instructed debt collectors to visit them. We will also be contacting the customers we did the jobs for to inform them of ERGs non payment and warn against using them again. AVOID THESE THEIVES AT ALL COSTS

I can only echo the previous negative reviews. I got in contact with the company six days ago to remove a wasp nest. They first cancelled because apparently their technician had been stung so badly on the previous job that he was in A&E [not a great reflection on the technical skills]! Then the customer service team rang me twice and rescheduled. At both appointments no one showed up. I have now cancelled the job.

Do not use this company, absolute joke. I called them to treat a wasp nest. I described where the nest was. I was given a same day appointment. The technician turned up late, spent all of 2 minutes treating the wasp nest, advised he would return after 10 days if the treatment hadn’t worked. At this point I had paid £132. I contacted the company after 10 days as the wasps were still active and was advised they would come back out but I had to pay another £70 & VAT for the pleasure. I told them I had not been advised there would be a further charge for a return visit. There customer service is very poor.

Called Erg at 1300 and explained I had a wasp nest in the grass in my back garden after answering various questions and providing card for payment I was given a guaranteed time slot from 1300 to 1700.At 1510 no one had come so called to ask what time engineers would be coming to be told “no mate no one’s come today” no apology just told someone from support Will call. I had organised a family bbq for the day with small children being there we could not let them play in the garden due to the amount of wasps that were very active. Needless to say I would not recommend this company for any work required totally unreliable and not one care for the customer. AVOID AT ALL COST

Appalling customer service. After two no shows, no follow up calls and no apologies, I will take my business elsewhere. This company is just a disorganised call centre. Call centre don’t even know if their pest control product is animal friendly. Best to avoid at all costs!

This company is NOT a company local to your area as there website would suggest. They are just a call centre based in Southend. Once they have pressured you into giving them your business they contact a business local to you but charge you twice as much for doing so. My wasp nest was dealt with on the day as promised but the local guy that did the work told me if I had contacted him directly he would have charged me half what ERG Pest Control had. Really disappointed in myself for being sucked in by this non company

Absolute joke of a company. Sound proffesional on the phone. Wish I checked reviews first. If you look they are a company that does plumbing pest removal and a thousand other things. 5000 5 star reviews apparently on Google what a load of nonsense. Some guy came sprayed the bees and buggered off. Gets paid 50 quid a visit and didn't show up. They charged 130. Please avoid at all costs I'm going to report this to ombudsman and trading standards. A company like this shouldn't be able to steal your money like this.

Having found a wasp nest in my shed I wanted it removed as swiftly as possible. ERG promised to come the same day (Friday) so I was willing to pay the high cost (3 times that of a local company). But it turns out they are a call centre not a pest control expert. They failed to come because they couldn’t find a local ‘sub contractor’ to do the job. Said they’d come first thing Monday instead but didn’t. So I cancelled and instead got a local professional to do it within the hour and for a fraction of the price. Cannot recommend ERG at all and would never use again.

Having booked ERG in a hurry on a Sunday afternoon and then read the reviews posted I was very concerned about what might happen. We were given a 2-6 Monday slot to remove a wasp nest. The guy turned up at 3 and cleared the nest quickly and effectively, taking as many of the wasps with him as he could. He then checked to see if there were any other nests in the vicinity of our garden but it appears there were not. Very happy with the service, although it is a little pricy, hence 4 stars rather than 5.

Unprofessional, unknowledgeable and not worth the money.

We had over 15 calls with ERG to sort out our case. They asked the same details over and over again and we were still charged wrong. We stated that we wanted all rooms which were effected by the pests to be treated (5 rooms in total).

They outsource their engineers from local companies which caused a lot of miscommunication and wasted a lot of time.

Initially, the Monday was booked in - our parents had to be present to let the engineer in as we had to work. The engineer shows up, refuses to do more than one single room as that’s all he had been told to do by ERG - he leaves.

Okay, book in for the next day the Tuesday. Same thing, parents show up - wait for 4 hours. I get a phone call at work “we can get to you this afternoon”. Get another phone call “we didn’t actually book anyone in yesterday to come again today. Sorry, going to have to come tomorrow”.

Wednesday, my partner has to take half day off work. Pest treatment finally gets done. I get overcharged in comparison to the quote which was agreed upon (and I asked for it to be in writing in an email for proof as I didn’t trust them at this point but just wanted the flat treated). Had to spend further time calling them up to get the refund which wasn’t a quick experience.

I asked about compensation due to the multiple mistakes ERG had made with booking in the treatment - they said “compensation isn’t something we do”.

There were no instructions/communication from the outsourced engineer so we didn’t even know what was physically done. ERG also said that they would have inspected for a link to birds - nothing was noted about that.

We were so unhappy with this experience. After we looked at prices of other companies (that wouldn’t have responded as quickly as ERG) ERG cost x4 the amount. But just because we were in a rush and their phone lines were open on a Sunday and they said they could send someone out the next morning to sort it - we went with it.

With that in mind, we expected this company to provide quality customer service and customer journey throughout. Instead were left feeling uneasy, out of pocket, our time completely disregarded and quite honestly, scammed.

Like many others who has left a review here I wish I’d looked at reviews before contacting ERG Pest Control!!!
Why?
1. They are not a local company despite their website giving this impression.
2. Their rates are not competitive.
3. The “pest control specialist “ did not inspect my home or garden which their website says he would.
4. He sprayed powder in large quantities in my garden (where there was NO problem) because he couldn’t get the pump on the canister to work!!!!
5. He then sprayed a large amount in the area of my home where we had seen wasps, I asked if this was safe and he replied “probably “!!!!
6. He left no information about what he had sprayed but did leave a card asking us to contact him directly if we had any more problems as he would charge us less than ERG.
7. Did not get a receipt or information about chemical used. (which I eventually discovered was because they had taken my email incorrectly). This was only sent after I got in touch with them to ask about the pesticide and gave them my email address again.

It was only a few weeks later when I rang a proper local company (as we still had a problem with wasps appearing) and I explained what had been done and showed him the powder which was still in situ, he asked what they had used and I said I didn’t know as he had left no information. This new company said the powder shouldn’t have been left without me knowing what it was and advised me to contact ERG to find out what the “specialist” had used.
ERG very unhelpful, did tell me what had been used but not if it was safe to be left where it had been sprayed (near fireplace). Even when I explained I was very concerned because my husband has got cancer they still had a “couldn’t care less” attitude.
I rang them again and they just said that the product was safe….

I have found out a lot of very concerning information about ERG Pest Control and ERG Facilities since and would advice everyone to go elsewhere. DO NOT USE ERG Pest Control!!! Take the time to find a local company or contact your local council who will either come out or have details of local companies.
