Terrible rip off. £294 for 2 'visits'. Bait was placed at the first visit (about 20 minutes work). No one turned up for the 2nd visit, which was rearranged. Then someone turned up for the 'visit' and just took the bait boxes away, with no check or inspection of whether there was still rodent activity. A local pest controller told me that it's common practice for a job to involve 3 visits, with extra bait laid at each visit where necessary. I have been ripped off and may not need to employ another company to finish the job. Really awful - they just subcontract and charge the earth. Please don't use.

Do not go near this company, total con and waste of money! I had reported a squirrel problem and the sent a cowboy who wanted to put poison down and then return in 2 weeks despite this being against the law. The law requires squirrels to be caught using cages and these cages being checked daily. Also he claimed I had 2 active wasps nests that he would get rid off as long as I paid him direct and off company books. A professional from another company said I had several wasps nest which were all redundant and that I had no squirrel problem after I got my eaves fixed. Do not go near this company!!

Rats are worse now so am having to get another pest control company in.
Being a pensioner I feel totally let down and and really cannot afford to throw money away like that

This company needs to be AVOIDED at all costs!!!!!!!!!!!
They are simply a call centre and outsource any work. They then charge double the fee which would have been charged by the company doing the work.

They don't deserve any stars. £294 of hard earned money to still have a rat in the loft. The contractor who came back to supposedly collect the dead body was asked what they do when the problem isn't solved, he said the company would charge another fee for a 3rd call out This company charges an extortionate amount of money for a DIABOLICAL service . Smell a rat and stay well away from this company.

Just a call centre and not local ! I notice the director Lawrence was on Rogue Traders 2018 !!! So how are they still trading !! Run a mile , steer clear .

Wish l had read reviews before booking with this company.DO NOT USE them l was charged £294 for someone to put 4 pieces of bait under my sink,then turn up unannounced and check the mice had gnawed on the blocks that was the full service.They we’re in my house less than 15 mins both visits no access points filled,At all costs avoid this company

This is the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Avoid at all costs. Extortionate prices, they insist on taking card details to ‘secure the booking’ and then take full payment without completing the job. No phone call prior to visit as specifically requested and agreed. Engineer was at our house for less than ten minutes, no proper inspection then just threw some bait under the sink. Engineer never returned for second visit. Waited in for two days and no show. Eventually told the engineer was in Newcastle (approx a 7 hour drive from my house)!! So clearly no intention of attending! Eventually got a refund for half (although should have been full amount due to awful service)

Cancelled at the last minute having waited all day for them to turn up. Left me with a swarm of wasps and too late to get another company to come and help. Should have read the reviews...

Do not use ERG pest control! They are effectively a call centre with no skills or knowledge around pest control. You book through ERG and all they do is over-charge you and then subcontract to another local pest control company their fee to come out. What I established was that the local company only charge £145 +VAT, whereas ERG charged £265 +VAT, which ended up being £318!!!!

£318 to put a bit of bait down is an extortionate fee. There was no survey and minimal effort to prevent the issue longer term. Nothing that I hadn't already done anyway. What makes this worse is that the issue isn't resolved 4 weeks on!!!!

I attempted to engage with ERG, but they have been completely disinterested and unsympathetic.

A terrible service and verging on a scam. I am tempted to consider involving Trading Standards, but that is more hassle than it's worth.

Awful service no improvement after 10minute visit and will not return .this is Southampton area do not waste your money .

Awful! Charged us nearly 300 quid problem isn't sorted!!

I have only clicked one star so as to initiate the review but for the service received they don't deserve even that.
We telephoned on a Sunday and were immediately told the call out would be £20 extra on top of a £165.00 plus vat plus materials?.. but so desperate were we to rid the house of a nasty smell from up in the loft, we agreed.
He didn't come until the following morning.
The operative looked in the loft and agreed there was a smell and that this would last for two weeks - a rat, had probably died up there - We asked if he could find the body and disinfect the area as per request upon initial telephone call.
No,
..we were to provide a spray and he would supply a dilution of air freshening liquid. Not a disinfectant and a pretty useless concoction at that.
He said he had found a mouse and produced a very dead, dry rodent and proceeded to bag said object.
We had looked in the loft several times prior to his visit and not found this body which was so very evident.
We were then told we had a bat colony and shown droppings that can only be bat. This was a complete surprise to us and rather a nice one as we have no objection to bats living in our attic.
That was it.
We could have sprayed Febreeze in the loft and the mouse he found was dry and not giving off a nasty smell so we are still left with the dreadful odour of the original, unfound culprit.
We did manage to get the £20.00 Sunday charge removed from the bill but only after the aggressive telephone operator told us she would report us for disturbing bats which is a criminal offence!
What an awful company to deal with - we are very upset and considerably poorer for our experience.

Awful. The only thing they managed to do was take my money. 2 no shows and when they did show up they were hopeless. 5 minutes to spray a nest from 12 feet away and made no impact at all. When called to return was told that an additional visit would cost extra. DO NOT USE THEM.

Absolute rubbish.. came to get rid of bedbugs.. didn't work. Man showed no ID. Said he was going to use smoke bombs. But opened windows first. Rude people.. cowboys . Total scam

Pure and simple rubbish company, should be struck off, money up front 294 pounds. 2 visits, mice still there. When I asked them what they proposed to do about there failure to provide a service I had paid for i was told they would be happy to come.out again for another visit but would charge me again and could not guarantee it would work. TOTAL SCAM CALL CENTRE, DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES。

I’m echoing many, many bad reviews. Just a call centre with no knowledge of pest control. Misleading website that made it look as if I was phoning a local company. They gave incorrect information over the phone during the booking phone call. No action given by the tradesperson who came (not their fault) but extortionate fee still payable. Stay local guys and stop companies like this taking advantage of people.

I am repeating what a prior person has said, because this has just EXACTLY been our experience too (except that the ladder was higher). They charged £132 and they refused to come back to do a second nest they had missed, without wanting another £132 to do so. They were supposed to do further nests for a reduced fee of £45, which I would have been prepared to pay. The man doing the job was perfectly charming and efficient, but this company appears to be a call centre, and routes the business out to different independent people – often from quite some distance away. They wouldn't let me talk with the person who did the job, or get him to call me, hiding behind "Data Protection".
So I recommend that you DO NOT USE ERG PEST CONTROL. VERY EXPENSIVE. VERY INFLEXIBLE. Clearly just want your money. Use someone local who you can deal with directly. I really wish I had. I will never deal with ERD Pest Control again.

The problem still persists and they will not came back out. They wanted another rebooking fee £132 for the same job. Can't believe this company is still going with service like this.
