I purchased a Drew and Jonathan reclining sofa with a 3 year warranty when the white paint on the sofa starting rubbing off my claim was denied as just normal wear.

This is a subpar organization. They engage in fraudulent practices and waste your money. Terrible company.
An absolute horrible extended warranty. I bought furniture from Rooms to Go and got the extended warranty because the salesman basically sold the warranty as “return or repair for almost any reason”. Boy was that completely wrong! I got the run around because there are a thousand different stipulations that come with getting a claim approved; so many that I’m shocked that anyone gets a claim approved through them. The customer service reps were also very rude and dismissive. Needless to say my claim was denied. Money wasted. I will NEVER buy another extended warranty thru Fortegra.
These service contracts are not worth the paper they are printed on.
Noticed a hole in the cushion of a dining chair so I called to file a claim.
While their contract says they cover "accidental punctures, rips or tears" they have a catch-all that claims anything "inserted" that causes damage is labeled as "misuse". How can something be punctured without insertion? I even told the lady, I have no idea what cause it, and noticed it when I was wiping down my chairs. "Based on what you told me, I have no choice but to deny your claim..." No amount of rebuddal on my end would change the outcome.
I normally steer clear of these types of service contracts, and this is a good lesson as to why. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Very sad experience. I had an extended warranty on some furniture I purchased last year. The table suffered some surface damage from
A scented oil spill. They seemed determined to deny my claim. I was given a different reason each time I refuted the previous one. Lastly, they claimed that it was impossible that the spill could have caused the damage in the pictures I sent them, based on the information they alleged they saw on the air fresher manufacturer website. When I said it depends on the surface in question I was told that Fortegra did not build the table so they know nothing about that.
Unfortunately based on other reviews and complaints filed with the BBB my experience is not unique.
Note: their contract limits the recourse you have, including waiving the right to be part of a class action lawsuit. This explains a lot considering the number of customers they have betrayed.
DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED
Do not add this to your furniture this is the second time we add to our furniture waste of money!!! Wood chance color not even 2 years old and we paid for a 3 year protection they refused to replace this is just a SCAM
My husband and I purchased a reclining sectional from Rooms To Go in August 2022. I had to submit a repair claim through Fortegra, and it was a 3 month nightmare!!!! DO NOT purchase their warranty plan, it is a SCAM!! The claim was denied at first, but I fought with Fortegra for an approval, which I received, but I had to call 6 times from February through May to find out when the piece that was to be repaired would be shipped. I kept getting the runaround, stating that the tracking number was not available and the repaired piece was coming from Vietnam. Finally on May 6th, I was told that they cannot get the part and that the sectional had been discontinued. No one can provide an exact date of discontinuation, I am only being told that it was sometime in early 2023. Why did it take 3 months to find this information out? I have spent at least 10 hours on this with phone calls. We are authorized for a reselection, but we would have to pay taxes, a delivery fee and the difference if the resection is more than our original sectional. That means that our monthly payment would go up! We would NEVER purchase another piece of furniture from Rooms To Go, no matter how great the price is!! Do yourself a favor and DO NOT purchase the 3 year warranty SCAM!!!!
Don't waste your time and money for this scammers, you will not get anything if you need to claim.
Baware of the the biggest scam of furniture insurance never buy any thing from rooms to g$0 ask your sales persons every detail they say marks cocerd stain coverd they lie to you for 10% commission after sales something happens you go to rooms to go care they fwd call to fortegra and then forgetegra say no sir we dont cover this type of stain (so do a phd on stains , cut , marks then buy the forgetegra) .
Contacted this company to make a claim for my ripped Sectional, was denied because they don’t cover stains despite the fact that I was not making a Claim for stains. They never tried to contact me regarding my claim, rescheduled my appointment to evaluate the damage of my furniture multiple times and still denied me after doing a poor job. I went back to Rooms To Go to purchase new couches after finally giving up on dealing with Fortegra and Rooms To Go suggested I file a dispute. I tried to file the dispute but of course now my Warranty has expired and there’s nothing Fortegra can do. They never tried to contact me regarding my claim, nor advised me of my options after the claim was denied. All they do is get that payment you make for extended warranty and offer no kind of help when service is needed from them. I will not be buying any warranty from this company due to the lack of communication and poor customer service when service is needed.
Fortegra, is full of BS! I purchased my daughters bedroom set from Rooms To Go and bout the extended protection. The headboard has fabric and because it needed to be cleaned slightly I took a little cold water and Woolite and wiped it off. However, it stain when it shouldn't have. You can take Woolite and soak you gentle fabrics. The rep who came out to look at it took pictures and said they should replace it or send someone to clean. I called numerous times and got the run around. I finally called again today to hear that they denied it because I used a chemical other than the Rooms to Go , are they serious? I'll never fall for this again with using Fortegra. It's the crappy make of the headboard because Woolite does not stain but lesson learned!
Poor service company. We bought the insurance( I blame rooms to go too) and put in 1 claim. We have 3 bar stools and all 3 started pitting on the chrome base. Now to give you a better picture the chairs are 3/4 chrome. They denied the claim related to no coverage on the chrome peeling and almost any other issue to the chrome. Needless to say no further business goes to them or Rooms to go for selling this coverage.
I bought living room furniture to include a couch, love seat and a powered recliner. The recliner cost as much as the couches alone and just after a year the recliner collapsed on one side. I put in a claim and the first tech could see there was an issue but didn't know why. His comment was "I've never seen anything like this" and he would not be able to fix it on-site. They would need to pick it up and fix it at the warehouse. Claim Denied! I put in a 2nd claim and another tech came and he said he could tell immediately the issue. The springs are shot on one side and he said some mechanism as well. Claim Denied!!! When I received word on the 2nd claim that it also was denied, they said it was put in as regular wear and tear. This is not wear and tear by no means. I am a small women, 4'11" and petite and the only one who sits in it. I bought it for my back issues after an injury. I can't sit in it because it makes my body off kilter so it is not recommended. I want to do something but don't know what. I want to so badly drop the recliner at Rooms to Go at the front door or at a Fortegra location since they are not taking responsibility but have no way to do that. I'm just so pist and can't afford to buy another recliner. I'm still paying on this one. I paid $1400 so no chump change, to me anyway.
These guys are a total scam they will somehow or the other find a way to not file a claim and if they do they will find a way to deny it.
I got couch warranty from them and they dont even cover scratches, even though there is accidental coverage in their clause.
Even if there is tear they will classify it as negligence and not cover it. Do not buy their services, it’s as good as not having them.
The worst insurance company. I have purchased an extended warranty for my oven. The thermostat was malfunctioning. The technician from Metro appliances had submitted an invoice for close to 1000$. The insurance company denied the claim since “the part is not covered “. I guess the only part that is covered is the company logo on the oven. Don’t waste your money on a fake extended warranty
Thanks to Fortegra for listening to what I experienced with my extended warranty. In todays world it is good to know there is still a company that cares about the little people. I was having issues with the warranty department but once I got in contact with Hunter, he was very considerate and knowledgeable. He immediately started working on my case and gives constant updates regarding the status of my claim. Hunter returns all phone calls and is a great asset to the company
This warranty for furniture was not cheap and they are denied my claim for a rip and huge stain
I have a car accident on Malta, someone hit my car during the night. I went to police to make report which is must to make claim reimbursement.
They have positive attitude, quick response to messages and prompt payment. From my side everything correct.
Thieves. They try not to pay the damage of the car, even if I have an insurance made by them
I knew that buying from Rooms To Go and getting the "insurance" was a mistake, but my brother talked me into it. I'd been better off to give my money to a homeless person that would appreciate it rather than these THIEVES!!! I knew they would rip me off, that's what they do best!! My brochure says, no kidding!!!
"Getting a repair is as easy as 1-2-3!"
NONSENSE!!!! 3 months later, even after a technician came out and confirmed it was their responsibility, I do not have my couch repaired. I call and they are always "closed"! I wonder if they are even still in business. Probably taking new stupid people's money, but most certainly avoiding every repair. This is the same NONSENSE that I have dealt with through purchases at RTG for many years, I'm talking 20+ years. I knew better, I knew this would happen. Lying thieves they are, no intention of repairing anything. Lip service. Must be run by a man, a woman would have more integrity. RTG is no help either, "We'll check the status and call you back". No call back. This started April 21 and now is July 30. "Getting a repair is as easy as 1-2-3!
False advertising.
I've dealt with warranty companies before trying to avoid paying your claim. These guys take the cake. Don't give them your money. They'd do the world a service going out of business.
