Provide a 5G phone for free, you cannot do anything with the 4G phone.

If you received a free device as a courtesy to use with your free Lifeline service, the device type could vary. The devices are generally Android smartphones that can be used for calling, texting, web browsing and using apps. While these devices work great for essential services, if you are looking for a device with more advanced features, we offer upgrades, or you can bring a compatible device of your own that you purchased or already own.

You shut off my phone for no activity…

You shut off my phone for no activity for 3 weeks. Made it almost impossible to get service back unless I changed from lifeline to an acct I had to pay for.

We understand the concern regarding your service status. To keep the Lifeline benefit active, federal regulations require the phone to be used at least once every 30 days. If the service isn't used, the free benefit is removed and the line may be suspended. We see that you have purchased a prepaid plan. You can also reapply to keep your line active.

The service is absolutely horrible

The service is absolutely horrible. You can barely hear anything. It's not really audible, the phone is crap? It gets super hot, just trying to charge it. And you have to charge it at least once a day. And that's literally with no usage. Now this is ridiculous, it should not be overheating, right off The Rip. I don't even want the stupid service. I want to go with a different government phone company. And I can't because I'm stuck with this dumb phone company. This is absolutely the most horrible piece of garbage phone I have ever used. I had the foxx phone which was great. It ran good. I didn't have any problems with it. Well, it got stolen from me. So I had to cancel it, and I had to order from a different company. So I chose Gen. mobile... boy! did I make a huge, huge huge mistake! Because the little hot pepper phone that you sent me. It doesn't work worth a crap. You can barely even make phone calls on it and you can't hear, when you finally do make a phone call.. it sounds warbled like the Peanuts Teacher. It is absolutely ridiculous and a horrible phone. It's useless if you can't hear anything and all you hear is what wah, wah, wah sounds like the peanuts teacher..And now they want me to pay money to get a better phone. Ha! no, thank you. I'll go to a phone shop and just outright Buy another phone and just pay the bill every month.

Good customer service

The customer service has been really good so far. The phone is really slow when it starts up and sometimes it's kind of frustrating to use because it's slow. However I think this is a really good company so far and that is why I gave it five stars.

I ported in my phone number ending 5565, now I'm transferring out of Gen Mobile. I want to port out my phone number ending in 5565- I'm being told they don't have that number in my account.
