Emails would not send

Although I was initially dealing with AI, when it couldn't resolve my issue I was transferred to an Agent who very quickly resolved my problem and I was up and running in no time. The communications from both AI and the Agent were clearly set out and each step I needed to follow was explained, with the option to go back if more assistance was needed.

The gross failure by Plusnet to move…

The gross failure by Plusnet to move their customer email service to Greenby without written approval and advance vetting of the service is scandalous. The incompetence of Greenby is a warning to everyone using the service of the risk to their identity and personal details being seriously compromised. The solution is simple, avoid.

Plusnet dumped on us by outsourcing email to Greenby

Plusnet's email gave me no problems for over 20 years but migration to Greenby has been fraught with problems. Help is unavailable, there's never a response to reported problems. The latest is Gmail's security update that prevents Plusnet exchanges between Gmail addresses. Is anything being done about it? Not for the last few weeks anyway. Plusnet, you shat on us passing us off to Greenby. They are BAD.

Genuine desire to help fix my email…

Genuine desire to help fix my email problems demonstrated by Greenbys online chat advisor Shehin who would not stop until my problem was solved.
I was sent lots of communication over a period of many hours containing precise information which resulted in my being able to resolve my issue.
Well done Greenby, you certainly have an asset in Shehin.

First impressions awful

First impressions awful ! I have been with Plusnet for 26 years - broadband, telephone & email - never had a problem - and if had some questions always had someone to talk to . Called plusnet today to discuss my email as changing computer - found out that I moving to Greenby ! A surprise - no comms have come my way ! Apparently my migration was on 17th December 2025 - no comms at all - either from plusnet or greenby. Now having to go through process of checking set up , transfer of mails , folders etc ....as my mails are NOT on their webmail server /system.System is sooo slow - like going back to dial up connections ! I will get through this and then transfer over to Gmail - should have done it years ago ...but I was loyal to Plausnet . Now thinking about changing my broadband too ....Plusnet - this has not been managed well , and is on you !

Unable to send emails

Shehin was very helpful and patient and was always clear in requesting any details needed, then providing precise details and instructions for resolving the problem.

email stopped working only a bot to assist no humans involved

email stopped working. Grenby's on line chat bot was the only means of communicting with them. Tried everything that bot suggested without success. Bot stated there had benn a problem earlier in the day but this had been fully repaired. It had not and other people according to Plusnet were having similar problems. Finally bot gave up and said someone would contact me by email. Ha Ha this was exactly why I was intereacting with them - because EMAIL WOULD NOT WORK. What a joke. Messed about for hours and finally installed Ouylook a purely web based email service. Got this to work eventually. Following day Greenbys must have fixed their supposedly already fixed system and my email service from them resumed. What a joke and what a waste of all my time. After the trial period they expect to actually get paid for their service. Wish Plusnet had continued supplying email service which always worked.

In desperation I rang Plusnet today and…

In desperation I rang Plusnet today and spoke to a helpful agent,who promised to arrange for a call from a Greenby agent.

A text duly arrived advising a set time for tomorrow.

To all fellow sufferers: call Plusnet and ask for help.

The saga continues : agent finally replied to ticket.

Login to Greenby webmail failed repeatedly,despite the agent having put in the correct password-which had been overlooked!

Messages now received by IOS mail on iPads, but no longer on gmail,which had been functional until this latest change.

It seems from the exchange of messages on the Greenby ticket, that only one agent is available for these problems.

Who exactly is running Greenby and why is the bot giving incorrect instructions?

Yesterday the advice was to remove SSL from email account settings. This is entirely wrong and was corrected by agent today.

What an utter shambles.

I have now spent over 4 hours trying to resolve this: every setting change has resulted in failure of email service,meaning that I've had to restore the original settings 3 times.

One voicemail which I could not understand, another exchange of Greenby ticket messages but no progress.

Back to square one and another call promised for tomorrow,but I'm not hopeful.

Plusnet must have chosen the worst email service possible.

Service restored today,so no callback needed and duly cancelled.

However, I decided to contact Apple for advice as their customer service is excellent.

Agent Sheeta installed remote access and guided me through adding the Greenby email settings as an extra account.

Success and now all resolved,thanks to Apple's expertise,which I recommend to others who are struggling with Greenby.

Awaiting agent assistance for over 30 minutes.
Abysmal service.What possessed Plusnet to do this.

After over 20 years of uninterrupted email service from Plusnet I can’t help but feel that Plusnet has done itself and all of it loyal customers a great disservice by handing over its email service to Greenby. I for for one feel terribly let down by Plusnet and because of this I shall not be renewing my contract with them after it expires. Though I’d never say this. SHAME ON YOU PLUSNET FOR PUTTING YOUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS THROUGH SUCH AN ORDEAL

What a miserable experience

As with many people, I have transferred from Plusnet to Greenby (enforced, not by choice). I was very happy to keep my email address which is truly unique to me. However, Greenby's service is abysmal. I have had repeated instances of sending and receiving emails not working (I have not changed any of my email client settings). Tonight, I have found that my mailbox does not exist!! Trying to login directly to webmail on the Roundcube website results in a message "Database Error!".
The problems have been going on for months. Greenby are exceptionally unreliable. Thanks a lot, Plusnet, you've transferred my email to an organisation who are literally useless.

Abysmal support

Abysmal support. Greenby have trashed Plusnets reputation for excellent service.

Took me a month of repeated contact with Greenby and Googling plusnet email settings to work out that they've changed my mailbox name, removed an email alias and are giving customers incorrect information. I've got my mobile phone working but Thunderbird on multiple laptops still wont send and they now blame me!!

Like many people I was a happy customer…

Like many people I was a happy customer at Plus.Net but they ported me over to Greenby.

The transition was chaotic with many issues that should not have happened. A 24 hour delay in email delivery because of changes to DNS (domain name server) information was not unexpected. But there have been many other issues too.

One of the worst was the automatic rejection of emails sent to certain domains. Especially (but not exclusively) Microsoft. I had to complain to get this sorted out and let it be known that I was willing to go further (ie: third parties) if it was not resolved.

Happily this has now been resolved.

Dreadful.

I had a trouble free email account with Plusnet for many years. The Greenby transfer worked until early June 2026, when it became impossible to send emails (no fault of mine). I am sure the Greenby AI help desk is designed to string people along until they lose the will to live. I had a frustrating week taking repetitive ‘advice’ from the help desk which made no difference whatsoever. I was advised ‘as a last resort’ to delete this email account from my device, and then re-add it as a new account. This process produced a ‘535. Authentication Rejected’ message. Eventually I had an hour-long phone conversation with a real person at Plusnet, who then arranged for someone from Greenby to ring me the next day. However, the Greenby line was poor and incoherent, I suspect from a remote call centre. I did receive an email offering me a ‘Greenby Remote Support Session‘, However, when I attempted to use it (after allowing time for my blood pressure to stabilise) I got a message that it had ‘timed-out’. Despite my Plusnet email address being vital to me, and used by many of my contacts over many years, I have now conceded defeat. As others have said quite rightly, one star is really far too high a rating for this company.

Greenby + Plusnet = DISASTER!

With Plusnet who now are migrating my email & all folders to Greenby. Cannot access my Plusnet account or get a Greenby account whilst this debacle carries on. It’s a complete mess, thinking of signing up to either of these pathetic excuses for service operators…DON’T!

Horrible

A service I have never used from another provider has been migrated to this without my permission and they have told me I will have to pay to continue the service. They have provided no log in details, have no contact details on their site (not an email, phone number nor address) so I cannot contact them or log in. Absolute sham and I will be reporting this to the ombudsman.
