Large Holiday Houses have some merits but a few drawbacks. Communication via their "no reply" emails and broken forms was frustrating. Lilac Cottage in Kilmuir was peaceful, well-equipped, and had lovely views, though furniture could use updating. Hosts at other properties were helpful and welcoming. Overall, an average experience with room for improvement.

This is a follow up. We have found it very difficult to communicate in writing with LHH. This is partly due to their use of "no reply" email addresses. When we have tried to complete their online survey forms, pressing the "send" button simply produces a page stating "website not found". This has to be deliberate.

With so many holiday letting websites around you need to have the edge to make visitors want t9 choose you & return. LHH does just that. Great website, the photography is excellent giving a really good feel of the properties available. They were brilliant during the pandemic & very accommodating.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend & look forward to booking with them again.

We spent a wonderful week at Lilac Cottage in Kilmuir on the Black Isle. The cottage was comfortable and well equipped, and owners Penny and David were friendly and welcoming. We loved the utter peace and tranquillity of the location - it felt like a real escape, but was just a ten to fifteen minute drive from Inverness.

Excellent company to work with. We had an issue with our bank and their sending a wire transfer and LHH was very patient and helpful. 1 Priory Court was the most beautiful property. As we do not drive any more, we needed a property that did not require a car. This beautiful cottage is right in the centre of Beauly, walking distance to everything and bus or train service to Inverness. It has everything you could ask for. Elizabeth, the housekeeper who lived next door, was a gem - so helpful and kind. There was not one negative to our booking with LHH or our stay. We hope to return next year.

Lilac Cottage at Kilmuir: Accommodation is well equipped & spacious (there were two of us) & the views across the Moray Firth were relaxing. Decor & furniture would benefit from being updated & create a bit more comfort.
Garden furniture in rear garden would benefit from being updated.
The road leading to the accommodation is narrow in parts & has passing places.
Kilmuir is a small community of houses with no shops, so a c5mile (round-trip) stroll along the pebble coast to North Kessock where there is a cafe & shop. Or get in your car to go to Inverness.
It’s a v quiet & peaceful location.

Myself, my husband and our two children enjoyed a wonderful stay in Loch Cottage at Dalbeg back in April.
You'd be hard pressed to find a better location! A view out onto the Loch made for a peaceful and calming vista at any time of the day or night and a great way to watch the changing weather! The patio doors open up onto that view and to sit on the bench or the sofa inside of an evening overlooking this was very appealing.

A very short walk down to the beach at Dalbeg was just what we were hoping for with the cottage location (the one thing no one could change was the weather but it was only April after all and as it was mixed we didn't sit on the beach itself but it was lovely to be able to just wander down whenever we wanted and I don't doubt in hot summer it's ideal). We were also allowed to explore their croft and follow the trail up onto the hilltop for an amazing walk and view.
The cottage also provided an ideal location to be able to drive out and explore Lewis.

The cottage itself was amazing! It had everything we needed and so much more - it is a great cottage for children as well as the hosts have catered for all that is needed for a stay with children, and you can borrow anything for going out exploring so you don't need to bring everything yourself from home, the cottage even had LEGO! (my boys were delighted)

The rooms in the cottage are spacious and relaxing, with comfortable beds and a large bathroom with bath and separate shower, lots of storage everywhere and also great to have use of a washing machine and dryer when it was required too. Great outdoor space around the cottage with picnic table and seating and also parking on the drive. We really felt we could switch off from the usual ties of busy life and have time to reconnect with each other.

We were greeted by Lesley after we had settled in the cottage and she was at hand for anything if we needed it. Lovely, friendly and helpful owners.

We would love to stay at the cottage again in the future and wouldn't and haven't hesitated to recommend to other people to do the same.

First time booking with LLH and could not fault the process. Excellent communication from start to finish. Lodge in Gairloch was exactly how it was described, which made for a lovely, relaxing holiday.

We have just stayed in the most wonderful property, Glen Cruick via LHH. We already have another reservation with the company and are delighted with the service, which is several levels above our experience elsewhere. The communication, quality of the property, accuracy of description and care and attention overall means that we are very unlikely to ever book with anyone else. We wish we had discovered LHH years ago - but look forward to exploring their quality properties and returning to Glen Cruick ! Thanks to all for a job well done

We had a wonderful week in Seaview on Barra. The Boyd family were amazing. So kind friendly and helpful. All the people we met on the island were so warm and welcoming. The house was perfect. We’ll be back! Thank you.

A very comfortable cottage in a peaceful area but with easy access to necessary facilities e.g. shops, pubs, and cafes. And not far from ferries to Mallaig and Barra. Some lovely walks close by. The cottage was very warm and cosy.

Stayed in Am Blàr Beag in Ness on Isle of Lewis. Wonderful stay, house super well-equiped, hosts Christina and Angus warm, friendly and helpful throughout with very generous welcome package. Would thoroughly recommend a stay there. Ness has several lovely beaches, places to eat and drink and is the perfect spot to hear Gaelic spoken as the language of the day and place. Lovely people.

This is the third time we have booked a holiday with LHH and have found them to be very helpful and efficient. We've stayed at Taigh na Beadan, Tigh en Leigh and Skylarks and thoroughly enjoyed each house. Such a pleasure to have a great brochure to look at and excellent website. We will certainly use LHH again.

Fantastic cottage , exactly as described. Photos do not do it justice. Cannot fault LHH, excellent communication right from the start. Would not hesitate to book with them again.

A great property in a great location. Great base for Munros and road cycling routes. Well equipped kitchen, welcoming public rooms, space for storing and drying kit. Would happily return.

A wonderful break which the whole family ages, 7 to 70 enjoyed!

Beautiful accomodation, warm, peaceful and confortable

All three holidays for this year booked with my favorite holiday company...after many years still as reliable as ever... I am so glad they rode out the Pandemic ...I would really struggle without you all

Overall, we loved this house at Culkein Lodge. It is large, comfortable and civilised. The spotlit book collections were a joy. There was everything in the house that we needed with generous supplies of starter fuel for the stove. We also appreciated very much the comfortable sofa and seats downstairs and the quality beds and bedlinen. We also appreciated the supplies of cooking essentials in the kitchen All this set in such beautiful surroundings. We had a really lovely week there at New Year. LHH were easy and flexible to deal with. Good value for money.
