When I first joined your credit union my credit wasn't the greatest but you trusted me . And because of that my credit score is much better . Plus your staff is very noligable and friendly . Love you guys don't change a thing
I have been with NECU for a number of years.
Patrick in loans, was particularly helpful. - the loan officer? No.
I requested a car loan recently and, frustratingly, was refused.
I have years of perfect dealings and ALWAYS pay on time, or early.
I always pay more than required.
If I meet ALL of my obligations and specifically request a loan, for which I am more than financially capable. I wouldn't waste anyone's time otherwise.
What I do with the vehicle is MY business.
To say I'm disappointed, is a massive understatement.
I am 61 years old.
I've worked extremely hard for my credit.
I care for the special needs, counsel others in need, and strive, incessantly, to be a supporter of my community.
I wish to say ty for Patrick's support and belief in my ability.
So much for NECU's advertising campaign touting how they "take care and support the community"
Not so in my case.
Close to an 800 credit score, perfect payment record, I work over 95 hours a week.
This... is my reward.
Basically someone else babysitting my capabilities...
Ridiculous.

the bank is a very good bank it keep you up to bate on everything that there do
Everyone is pretty nice and knows their job and how to do it. Occasionally you'll get someone that could've done better or differently. But thats life. Overall pretty good financial institution.

I appreciate the fact that can walk into the Branch and be known by so many people on a first name basis. Also the experience is similar when i am on the phone with other folks at NECU who don't know me but make me feel like a customer who has been with them for 30+ years...which is true :-)

I’m tired of this credit union’s incompetence.
Thier app is buggy as all hell. Because it’s so buggy it does stupid things on its own, This time for instance it did a double withdrawal from my external checking account to my NECU auto loan. When I called on a Monday to get it resolved I get some chick at a call center that clearly doesn’t know her job. Seems every time I call the person I speak with can’t fix anything and it has to go to a team leader or some stupid crap. This time I was told “ooops well we will have your money back into your account in 3-5 business days”
WHAT!!! Total BS at the highest level of stupidity. Not only did they “steal” my money (technically stealing since I didn’t authorize 2 transactions) They make me wait to get it back???
Oh and it gets better… so after I waited…. I see they sent the money to the wrong account!!!! Causing overdrafts in my external checking account.
Not to mention a crappy nearly 10% APR for an auto loan. That’s really the best they can do? Especially when I find out there building a billion dollar new central headquarters!!???
Scum. If I could pull out and get a loan through someone else I would.

NECU is always pleasant and helpful. They are quick to offer more than one option when discussing a loan. They are always professional while being kind and friendly. You get the sense that they don't only want to do what is right by the company but also want to do right by their patrons whenever possible. This is hard to find in the world of business these days. I tell everyone about them.
Helpful on the phone. Easy to pay online but needs some attention on setup..

I was a victim of credit card fraud. Credited the amount stolen only to have it debit back out again after the poorly executed investigation

Prime lending rates are very competitive especially on long term loans, number of branch locations is convenient, and all of the actual human employees that I have interacted with have been nothing but pleasant and helpful, but the app is hot garbage, lacking any semblance of intuition and capability almost as if after coding, nobody bothered to try it out in the slightest, the customer service via phone is comparable to that of Comcast or maybe AAA, and the lack of reminder system for payments not on auto draft is disappointing. NECU should try using the mobile apps for Discover and Navy Federal Credit Union and use that as a guideline on how an app should function. Understandably both of those institutions are significantly larger than NECU, but for the size, NECU should be able to keep up with the likes of Service CU, not stuck in the 2010 app world like Triangle CU. In summary, the initiation of a loan with NECU is great, but servicing that loan is subpar.
Every one is a pleasure to work with and they are so pleasant and professional from top to bottom. Every time I deal with them they are top notch.
The bank representative was patient and thorough. It wasn’t a straight forward request and she handled it VERY well.

NEC is always helpful and understanding. Whether it’s applying for a loan, questions on my account, or needing a new debit card they have always solved the issues or provided answers in a respectful and effective way. They have been my bank for many years. Love them!!
