Poor experience…
Whilst seeking classic car insurance quotes, one company suggested that I add on public liability cover for when I attend car shows, something I've never been asked to consider before.
When I subsequently contacted Peter Best for a quote, I enquired about this extra cover and was told that it was included in the policy we were discussing, on this basis, I took out the policy.
Having paid the premium and received my policy documents, I couldn't find any reference to public liability cover.
I emailed the company querying this and was told and it wasn't included. I pointed out how frustrating this was ( I should have stayed with the first company) but have had no further follow up from Peter Best.
This is first time in forty years of classic car ownership that I've had a problem like this.

I PAID A DEPOSIT THEN I DIDNT FOLLOW UP ON THE £100 POLICY I TOOK OUT SO AROUND £8 A MONTH.
THEY HAVE SINCE CHARGED ME AN ADMIN FEE OF £50 WHICH IS 50% OF THE PREMIUM.
AND DEMANDING I MAKE FULL PAYMENT FOR THE POLICY PLUS ADMIN FEES OR THEY WILL SEND ME TO COURT. 😂
APPRENTLY YOU CANT PAY MONTHLY WITH THEM EVEN THOUGH THATS WHAT I CLICKED. YOU INSTEAD GET ALOAN FROM A BROKER.
THEY ALSO KEPT MU POLICY RUNNING FOR 39 DAYS FOR SOME REASON AFTER THEY HAD ZERO CONTACT FROM ME.

What a shocking company to deal with…
What a shocking company to deal with refused to accept I had four years no claims bonus I sent them proof that I had but received countless emails requesting proof. The new policy with them was due to start after my policy finished in a couple of weeks . I requested a refund as the policy had not started and I had not used any of there services as yet . They said there would be a charge of £55.00 for doing absolutely nothing despite other companies not charging a fee for a policy not yet live. I was fully aware that if I had lied on my application my new insurance policy would be VOID. I requested a transcript of my online chat with them and Emily informed me it would take 30 days to produce this probably knowing her customer service skill left a lot to be desired. So I decided to pay them my money so they did not supply me with insurance. They need to ask themselves why a customer would pay not to insure with them. I called them after a forty five minute call I spoke to David who helped me leave this company David was very helpful and knowledgeable and worked within his company’s policy to extract me from this shocking company.

We understand your frustration regarding the requests for proof of No Claims Bonus. As part of the policy validation process, we are required to obtain and verify supporting documentation to ensure the information provided to the insurer is accurate. We appreciate that receiving multiple requests can be frustrating and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
We would also like to clarify that our cancellation fee is clearly advised prior to purchase and forms part of the policy terms and conditions that are accepted when taking out cover. While we appreciate that cancellation fees are not welcomed, they are applied in line with the agreed terms. In recognition of your circumstances, we can see that our agent reduced the broker fee from £55 to £25 as a gesture of goodwill.
With regard to your request for a chat transcript, the 30-day timeframe advised is correct and reflects the timescales required to process and provide this type of data request.
We are sorry that your overall experience fell below expectations. However, we are pleased to hear that David was able to assist you and provide helpful support when you contacted us. Your comments have been noted and will be used to help us review and improve our service going forward.
