Aura 12,000 Great unit, fairly easy to install
I purchased a new in box Aura 12,000 mini split from a consumer who purchased 3 units, but only installed 2 of them and didn't need the third. The unit was purchased to provide supplemental cooling and heating on a 700 sqft addition.
It was an easy installation but required a 37' lineset to connect the outdoor and indoor unit. Being my first installation of a mini split I was somewhat hesitant and careful to ensure everything was done correctly, installed on a second story wall, with the outdoor unit installed on the ground and around the corner from the wall.
My biggest complaint was the wall hole cuff needed to be trimmed to fit behind the unit as it stuck out the bottom, preventing the indoor unit from sitting flush against the wall. Of course, noticing after pushing the piping through the wall required a somewhat messy cut as sealant was already applied.
The rest was a breeze, except for making 2 right 90* bends in the 1/2" tubing around the corner of the house, and keeping it in the line-set corner covers. Adding the 2-3 oz of refrigerant was easy as well.
The unit works very well, and is very quiet both indoor and outside.
My last issue is warrantee. Unlike MR Cool, since I connect the HVAC lines, suctioned and checked them, then added a little extra refrigerant, I have no warranty. All the steps were done properly and the unit is running like it is suppose to. The proof is in the gauges, and the fact that it is running superbly! I will probably never need the parts warranty, but you never know when a part may fail. BTW, I installed a geothermal furnace in my house 20 years ago and except for a circuit board failure, that I ended up fixing myself, it has continued to work very well.

Initially, selection of replacement motor information wasn't clear and as a result, received the incorrect unit.
