Staysure Expat Travel Insurance Bewertungen 

I took out an annual policy with Staysure Expat in October 2025 for a holiday in July 2026 as I booked my flights in October. Now we are 29 June and 1 week ago I told them about some new medical changes. They have still not confirmed these have been added and I have phoned them numberous time and seems they want me to wait another 5 days!! My holiday is only a few weeks away and this is stressing me out. Why I am being fobbed off. So now logging a complaint and been put on hold for 15 minutes so far. Once I get an outcome I will update here. All I want to know is can you add these conditions if so great, or no we cannot cover you.. then OK lets get a claim in and I can cancel may plans. Really how hard can it be!! Being left in limbo is trully awful. Lets see how long this all takes!! I

The fact I sm 80 years of age this makes getting travel insurance for the world wide travel for which I am perfectly physically fit to under take is becoming very difficult. The fact that your company offered me cover up to the age of 85 is Fantastic Hopefully beyond that age I will be able to take on single trip insurance cover..so that's why I took on your slightly more expensive comprehensive cover.

Booked a policy cannot access documents. Number provided to call rings, wait 10 minutes then hangs up. Really Bad
Edit 29/06/26. I called a different number, got through and my policy was emailed to me, however their website is confusing and I still cannot access the documents using the link sent to me.
Summary: All outstanding issues were dealt with by Staysures staff promptly, but their website is confusing causing me to spend additional time I didn’t need to spend get my documents.

UPDATE 26th June 2026
I have just experienced Staysure support from both the UK and the Spanish expats support in Spain. Given that I was very critical in my earlier comment, this update is to say that the response from both support teams was immediate and I now have my Staysure Travel Insurance Validation Certificate and Policy Document (via email attachments). The reason that I have put "via email attachments" is that the original problem (not now impacting on my travel arrangements) has not been resolved. I received a second email from the Staysure website this morning, containing the same non-functioning link to download the documents. For some reason, the Staysure website allowed me to put in all my correct data (living in Spain, travelling to UK, date of birth and Spanish postcode) but then the website sent out (twice) a non-functioning link to download the documents, which refused to accept my valid and correct Spanish postcode and my correct date of birth. If the Staysure Team is reading this, then it might be that from my initial landing on the Staysure.com website (see the Microsoft Copilot AI links below), I was somehow taken to the UK website which was the probable reason that the non-functioning link refused to accept a valid Spanish postcode. So the Staysure programming team might want to look at the process for a Spanish resident requesting travel insurance from Spain, and how that customer could somehow be taken to the UK website during the data entry phase.
To potential Staysure customers reading this, the website looks good, is easy to use and the support teams if you need them are excellent; just be aware that the website is not perfect (as per my example).

Bought expat travel insurance for a trip to the UK and cannot download the insurance documents because the StaySure website requires my (CORRECT SPANISH) postcode as well as my date of birth. Not a good experience. I have paid for the travel insurance and all I have got is proof of payment in my bank account and a screenshot of the acceptance by StaySure. There urgently needs to be a way for customers to download documents immediately without having to telephone StaySure because their postcode algorithm doesn't work.

Everything about taking out the policy was easy to navigate. The product cover met our needs and the price for the annual policy made it an easy choice.

The website for online policy/quotation is very easy to follow.
However, am disappointed with the approach to pricing.
I got a quote of 119.00 euros yesterday and that had changed to 154.00 euros today, for the same cover. My friend got the same cover for the same age category on Monday for 80.00 euros.
Why is there such a variation or is this a Ryanair type approach whereby the cost increases as with each time customer goes onto the website?

Idris, the agent I spoke to, was 'human'. He took the time to listen to me and explain any concerns I had. We have discussed the best policy for my needs and I now feel confident with that choice.
