Superprof Reviews Are Misleading – Here’s Why
Superprof’s review system is fundamentally unfair and misleading. A tutor gave me a 1-star review based solely on a single courtesy message where I informed them I’d chosen another tutor and suggested possible future collaboration – we never had a lesson! That review was published immediately. When I submitted my own 1-star review, Superprof never published it. They claim negative reviews are ‘moderated’ to prevent fakes, yet no one contacted me about my genuine feedback. This means tutors can post damaging reviews without ever teaching, while students’ honest reviews are suppressed. The system shields tutors from criticism but offers no protection for students, which has completely soured my experience with Superprof.

We’d like to clarify that students on Superprof do not have public ratings or scores. Any feedback a tutor leaves about a student is entirely private and can only be seen by the student themselves. It is not visible to other tutors, other students, or the public, and it does not affect a student’s ability to use the platform or find lessons.
Tutor reviews, by contrast, are public and are intended to help students make informed choices. Because of their public visibility and the potential professional impact, these reviews are moderated more closely to ensure they are authentic and compliant with our guidelines.

This is a scam.
I searched for a tutor offering face to face beginner guitar lessons. When i found a tutor offering what i wanted, she informed me she only did online lessons. I initially decleined, but she pursited and offerd a free lesson to see how i liked it, so i accepted.
When it came to the lesson, i logged in and the person was not the tutor in the profile. Not even close. This lady was Indian. After i got over my shock, she explanied that tje tutor i selected was confident in her skills to provide a beginner lesson, but dont worry, they had Ben ready to take the leson. After i explained to her this was highly unprofessional and that this could of been explained to me days, or even hours ago, she informed that they thought they had, but ben was ready to take the lesson.
I beleive this is nothing but a scam trying to fleece you.

In order to connect to tutors and enquire about a lesson on our platform, you first need to have a Student Pass subscription.
The Student Pass is a monthly subscription that gives you access to the platform and allows you to contact teachers on our site and access their personal contact details. It is not related to a tutor's hourly rate nor does it cover the cost of any lessons.
Once you have found a tutor, you pay that tutor directly their hourly rate for lessons.
It is also worth mentioning that if you only need the Student Pass for one month or for a specific tutor, you can cancel it after a tutor has accepted your request. This way, it can function as a one-off payment and you still have the remainder of the month to reach out to different tutors if you desire.
Once the Student Pass expires, you will still be able to use the chat, lesson booking, and payment function with tutors with who you have already connected.
I hope that this helps clarify the fees.

Superprof is a stupid app as you have to pay a monthly fee but you only need one tutor and once you get someone, why should you keep paying. It’s a strange model.

FAKE website. Stay Away! False advertising. Red flags everywhere. They said it was a special of $45 joining and they charged $69.00. Then when you go to remove your bank details there are no such pages to remove it even though it directs you to empty pages. Many of the profiles are FAKE. You are better off going to Fiverr and at least you have real people on the other end and the payment is agreed. Wasted $140.00. Also their email address is not serviced. It bounced back. Stay away from this website. RED FLAGS everywhere.
