I paid my money (91$) for this terraplanter/tevaplanter in 2020 (4 YEARS AGO!!!!) Terraplanter/tevaplanter continually put off the production and delivery of their product. When I tried to contact them and asked where my product is (4 times), they came up with excuses. Then they were pretending like they can’t deliver the product to my country (but why I paid 29$ for shipping!!!???), when I asked for a full money refund they said: “unfortunately we do not provide refunds. Indiegogo is a crowdfunding platform where we, the creators, fund the production of new products using the funds raised during the campaign. Once payments are processed, platform and processing fees are deducted, and we start using the funds to finance our production, therefore, we are sorry, but rewards are not refundable. We thank you for the support and look forward to assisting you further with any questions or comments you may have. We are here for you.” – What does it mean?!
Terraplanter/tevaplanter received from people $7,680,766 (on indiegogo.com) and $6,391,763 (on kickstarter.com) which is $14,072,529 !!! WHERE IS ALL THE MONEY?! WHERE IS MY REFUND?! This whole campaign is a huge scam. Many customers have reported not receiving their orders, receiving damaged products, or receiving products that do not work as advertised. Additionally, the company has been unresponsive to customer inquiries and has not provided refunds. Thieves work in Terraplanter/tevaplanter company.

Ordered one item from a FB ad. took some time to grow but it is incredible. It looks great, and it's such an incredible idea. All day I'm working on it, and its something I've never seen before.
You can do the simple stuff like grass, but if you are advanced, you will fall in love with it. And also, the quality of the build is really good and feels strong. Strongly recommend, and ill definitely but more of those

The only faster way to kill a plant is in the microwave. The water does not diffuse out of the container on the surface as advertised. The surface is bone dry. I tried different plants and different rooting methods as suggested and the plants die after a couple of weeks and they only survive because I spray them a couple of times a day. I have a ton of experience growing plants on different substrates and I can't believe how bad this product is.

I bought this for my son’s birthday. He told me that it leaks from the bottom. Doesn’t hold water. Disappointed because I was going to buy one for myself ☹️

I have had mine for 6 months and have killed 6 plants, just dried up. Even though I made sure it had water. Mine does not get wet, tried filter and bottle water, nothing worked. They only give you 30 days to return. Mine was a gift. So disappointed 😢

I got mine several months ago and it’s simply the most magic product I’ve ever owned!! Chia worked like a charm and now I’m trying some ferns. Definitely worth the long wait

I got mine by backing the Kickstarter. The first planter did not work at all. The tevaplanter company replaced it at no cost. The second one worked for a few months. However, the planter became covered with a white film that blocked the whole. This caused the loss of two orchids. Customer support suggested soaking the planter in a vinegar and citric acid bath. They recommended using filtered water. I have always used filtered water.

It simply doesn't work, filled with water (+1 month) but stays dry as a bone

Product does not work…. The lime scale clogs up the tiny holes straight away and does not let any water though….. bad design and a waste of money…. I now have 3 very expensive pots!

Tevaplanter is really a great idea and I wished honestly it’s working. I tried it several times now, with different kinds of plants and water but it does not work. The water doesn’t come through the material and every plant dried out.
So I only have two very expensive ceramic- vases now.

Backed the kickstarter something like 3 years ago and received the products this autumn.
Box is cool, pots are cool, first try with chia seeds worked super.
Then, every other plant I tried has been a complete disaster.
First of all you are forced to use rain or distilled water, and there is no way to put any fertilizer in it unless you want the "holes" to be crippled by white salts.
Then, the pots itself does not keep wet, but the water keeps flowing in the saucer, eventually filling it, wetting everything and of course emptying the teva itself.
Orchids must still be manually moisturized, everything else does not receive enough water to prosper.

Sadly, it was really a waste of money.

Update: eventually they reached out and sent me a new planter. Customer service was extremely helpful and responsive. I think it’s a tough product and a lot of people have issues due to individual environmental factors (dry air vs. humid air and water quality.) The planters are working, not quite as well as I’d like, but I live in an extremely dry climate. Plants are growing on my first planter still (~7mo. now). Just keep in mind, it’s extra work. Collecting rain water/buying purified (my water is very hard) and having to fertilize from the outside. Extra work, but looks cool. Just have to decide if it makes sense for you.

Looks cool, really wished it worked, but unfortunately it does not. I’ve only used it with distilled or rainwater, and water stops making its way to the outside surface. I even cleaned it with vinegar, distilled water, and citric acid; as recommended by the company. It seems to help temporarily, but quickly declines. If you’re thinking about buying one of these; do not. Save your plants and use a regular pot.

Beautiful but useless. I got mine on Kickstarter and doesn't work at all. Water didn't even wet the surface of tevaplanter, impossible for a plant to grow. Assistance were terrible. They asked for a video and they just disappear, even after many mail. Maybe someone can found a working one but mine were not worth it.

Received the planters x 3, set up with chia and, vines on a mother plant.
The pores continue to seep water and break the water tension so the drip tray fills then overflows, regardless of how little or much water is in the vessel. Water damage on two pieces of furniture.
Wouldn’t recommend.

Kickstarter campaign took way longer than promised, but this happens, my 2 planters arrived in the end.
Sadly since then, I've been less than thrilled about them. The first plant, the chia seeds that came with the planters, worked like a charm. After that though, no water is coming through, neither with mine nor with the one i gifted my mother.
Checking the previous forum, I tried cleaning with vinegar, with a toothbrush, but all this did was make the water come through the bottom instead of the pores on the planter. The creators are just telling us to mail them, instead of providing a solution.
They migrated to a new forum, which took ages and led to the deletion of all the old posts. Sadly the new forum hasn't improved their response.
Can't recommend this product.

This is a £60 piece of clay that does not work.

I'm going to defend the "scam" accusations against them as part of the $6m raised. Yes, it took way too long to ship a product, but I see that happen on every kick starter product. That said, it's still a waste of money and would advise against buying.

My first attempt at growing cress was a roaring success. Since then, two weeks after receiving the planter, nothing has grown since.

The pores no longer allow water to come through.

This complaint has been made frequently on the old forum, as well as on the new forum and directly on their Instagram posts.

The solution offered by the team is to DM them directly for a solution, it would be great if they could just publish guides on how to fix the issues directly on their website, there is a section for it but it doesn't link anywhere.

I've emailed the team for assitance over a week ago and have chased up the email only to get the same message back "currently experiencing a high volume of inquiries we are trying to complete, resulting in a queue for responses".

Either they're getting a massive number of complaints similar to this one that the planter isn't working, they don't care about the fact they don't work, or there is no fix for the planters and they do not work as intended. In terms of the product aestetic look and packaging, they were all top class, but unfortuantely practically speaking the planter does not work as intended past the first use/two weeks.

Despite contacting them numerous times I have never received my item. Terrible rip off. The company claimed they had sent my item, but nothing was received. I invested over 3 years ago and just keep getting despatch updates, but no product

I am still waiting for my terraplanter…I am from the U.K. and basically trying to find out what is really happening…it seems that you had already made deliveries since 2020 to Europe but nowhere U.K. to be seen on your list. It seems to me you’re taking advantage of people just to give you money but not delivering on your promises??? Sent already a couple of emails and no responses still…con artists???

This product does not work. On the kickstarter website, comments are mostly about people with useless products where nothing can grow. I got two, none are working, water does not permeate, seeds cannot grow.

Avoid that scam...

I too waited for a long time, but it was worth the wait. A few issues with logistics were dealt with quickly and they respond in a prompt manner. I order it a few years back and was surprised at the delay, but I'm pleased with the end result. There may be alternatives out there, but this is the risk you take with Kickstarter and Indiegogo. I'm pleased with the end product.
