Having bought a substantial number of blinds from ‘The Blind Factory Leeds’ when refurbishing my home, I am absolutely disgusted and shocked by the appalling aftersales service I have been given.
My Louvolite One Touch motorised blind has gone faulty within the 12 month warranty period, resulting in the roller blind fabric getting jammed in the motor mechanism. I contacted the company and an appointment was arranged for Neil to attend.
Neil arrived and immediately told me that this was not covered by the warranty, despite the fact it was obviously a mechanical fault as the blind is only operated remotely and not by a physical touch. He managed to remove the jammed fabric and when I asked if the fabric would be replaced as it had been kinked and now had several creases which could potentially lead it to jam again, Neil was very abrupt and adamant that he would not be replacing it. When I remarked to him that this was ludicrous as the fault had occurred within 12 months and therefore damage to the blind caused by the motor should be covered by warranty, he became agitated and I found his demeanour very alarming.
He also could not set the blind so that it would sit level, and refused to acknowledge that he had installed it like this at the outset. He accused me of taking the blinds down and reprogramming them, rather than accepting this was due to his defective workmanship. As previously stated, I have no reason to touch or take down the blinds as they are set on an automated schedule to open and close. When I explained I was not happy with his response, he was extremely unprofessional and spoke in a very aggressive manner. Despite this being a prearranged appointment, he told me that he did not have the ‘time’ nor did he bring ‘tools’ to resolve the problem.
I have found that if you question Neil on his workmanship or work ethic he refuses to accept responsibility for any faults and becomes highly irate and forceful in his manner. I found this very disturbing as my young daughter was also home at the time. He caused deep distress to my daughter as she was concerned by his aggressive tone of voice.
When Neil had initially installed my Sunwood blinds, he was insistent that the safety cleats had to be screwed into the frames of my new UPVC windows and refused to accept any alternative suggestion. As I felt, Neil lacked knowledge regarding the complexity of safety regulations. I contacted The British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA) for further advice who confirmed that it was not necessary for the cleats to be screwed into the UPVC frame and that it was perfectly acceptable for them to be fitted to the bay window ceiling as it was within reach for an adult and more than 1.5m from the floor, which is what the regulations stipulate. When I relayed this information to Neil he begrudgingly agreed to fit the cleats to the ceiling as I had evidence to support my suggestion.
I would say to anyone that if you are spending a lot of money I would most certainly look elsewhere for a much more reputable company. My experience here has been that Neil comes across initially as a pleasant character but if you dare to question his knowledge/workmanship, he becomes extremely unprofessional and aggressive.
Would I recommend him… ABSOLUTELY NOT!

I was trying to find a way to make my conservatory less hot in summer and Neil was incredibly helpful with quotes and suggestions. I eventually decided on solar film and the company installing this were also very helpful and pleasant. All in all a very good experience - and most if it done by email!!

We had a short notice need to motorise a bedroom roller blind. I chose The Blind Factory to contact because of it being a local company and the reviews that said how helpful and professional was the service that Neil and Emma provided.
At a very busy time of year ( just before Christmas) Neil spent the time to investigate whether we could simply motorise our existing blind. This was not possible due to the tube inner of our existing blind being too small for a motor.
So we visited Emma at the showroom and, thanks to her knowledge of the roller blind materials available, she was able to match our existing blind fabric with one they could provide.
Neil and Emma reassured us that, due to our urgent need, they would be able to get the blind manufactured straight away in the new year and it was!
Due to the tight time scale we collected and fitted the blind ourselves, otherwise we would have been very happy to use Neil’s services for this.
We are extremely pleased with the blind and that we have ‘found’ Emma and Neil, the whole process was a pleasant experience and we would have no hesitation in recommending their services.

I don't normally leave reviews, but this was customer service at its very best. I was looking around for blinds for my flat and didn't really know what i wanted or where to start. I looked at a few companies online and was so impressed when i read the reviews for The Blind Factory that i got in touch.
From the start, Emma and Neil were incredibly helpful, professional and responsive, a real breath of fresh air. I was in a hurry as i had nothing at all at any of the windows and feeling a bit exposed.

I'd had bits of work done in the flat in the previous weeks and had been messed about by various people not turning up on time or changing things at the last minute, and not keeping me informed. So my experience with The Blind Factory was just so refreshing and easy, even though it was just a couple of weeks before Xmas.
Everything was done within three weeks of enquiry, and Neil's professionalism during the survey visit and fitting was second to none. The blinds look great, are of very good quality, and well fitted.

It's so good to find a company who are this reliable and professional. I wish they did more than blinds! Thank you, Neil and Emma.

The team of Neil and Emma has been fantastic. From the point of quotation/estimation visit to the delivery/installtion day experience was great. Neil kept us informed about every step until completion. The site was left clean and tidy after the blinds installtion. Great company, very professional and awesome service. Put up our blinds when we moved in with the minimum of fuss and at a great price. Needed some further work recently and they carried out the work professionally, with the minimum of fuss, and again at a great price. Would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Welcomed from the first minute at the factory and showed numerous blinds and materials. Neil quickly established what we were looking for and produced a great number of samples, bringing them to the house, to check the colouring, before measuring up. Really delighted with speed of service, along with the quality of materials, as well as the fitting, which is first class. We would have no hesitation in recommending Leeds Blind factory, for speed, quality and really good value for money.

I found The Blind Factory online wanting to repair 2 blinds. They speedily repaired them like new, were a pleasure to deal with and will definitely use again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I took in a roller blind for repair yesterday, and it was fixed straight away - at a very reasonable price. Very helpful.

We have just had a large bay window and 3 bathroom/cloakroom windows fitted with INTU venetian blinds. Neil came out to measure and fitted them a couple of week later. Unfortunately one of the blinds didn't work correctly so a replacement was ordered without any fuss. Great service. We would recommend Neil to anyone.

Should have mentioned that the balance of payments did not need to be paid until the replacement blind was fitted.
