We recently had cavity wall insulation and associated work completed as part of the current Government scheme. The team were friendly and helpful from the initial first visit through to completion and were happy to fully explain the process and to answer my queries, making the whole experience a very pleasant one.

I was skeptical at first having someone knock on my door explaining they could provide me cavity wall insulation free as part of the goverment scheme. I had read bad reports of foam insulation on wales online. I had to do my own research and check the company was legitimate. I had question after question which Glyn was able to provide detailed explanations. The surveyor came round on the next appointment to do an assessment and on the following appointment they provided me cavity beaded foam insulation and also provided me free kitchen and bathroom extractor fans and vents for the windows. The workmen were very quick, efficient and even tidied up after them. I noticed how warm the upstairs landing was after and now don't have to always open the bathroom windows. I couldn't fault them. Rob the electrician especially, who I gave a hard time too didn't complain and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definitely recommend their services. They have an outstanding team of people working at A & M

THey were very efficient, worked with care and protected everywhere they worked. Cleared out a very untidy loft and took a lot of rubbish away. Couldn't fault the team at all.

One of their van drivers decided pull out on me on one roundabout and the at the next was in the wrong lane, not indicating and undertook me nearly wiping out the side of my car, which had my 3 year old daughter in. The driver then proceeded to give abusing hand signals towards me from the drivers window before speeding off.

My experience with A&M Energy has been frustrating and ultimately unproductive. After being referred through a government program (which required significant chasing on my part), I contacted A&M Energy. During our initial phone conversation, they confirmed they covered cavity wall insulation, bathroom and kitchen fan installations, and other services. I explained that my priority was to check if my cavity wall was suitable for insulation and, if not, to have it installed, along with new bathroom and kitchen fans.

They scheduled a technician visit over a month later, citing a busy schedule, which was understandable. However, upon arrival, the technician simply checked the existing cavity wall, found it was already filled, and then left, stating that was all they could do.
When I contacted A&M Energy to inquire about the fan installations, I was told: "The fans in the kitchen and bathroom are part of the same scheme. As there is insulation in the cavity we couldn’t get funding for just fitting fans."

Essentially, this means that unless A&M Energy can install cavity wall insulation, they won't provide any other services, regardless of what was initially discussed. This limitation isn't clearly stated on the government website or in their initial communications, which is misleading.

While A&M Energy may be a reputable company in other respects, this process has been extremely disappointing. I'm now left with two holes in my house for a cavity wall check which they fill of course. and no progress on the fan installations I actually needed. The lack of clear communication and the "all or nothing" approach to their services wasted my time and left me with no solutions.

Their surveyor was very professional, and had attention to all details of our house, and answered my questions.
The insulation went very well too. Thomas and Chris were very accurate. They explained everything with patience to me.
Our house felt much more warmer just right after the insulation.
We are pleased with the outcome, it takes shorter time to heat up our home, and it stays warm for longer time.

I can only say we’ve used this company before and both times they’ve done the job well, they were on time, it took them no time to do the work and their prices were very fair. We had loft insulation fitted in order to bring our property up to the standard of an EPC level 3, I can’t say a bad word about them, if I could I would, hopefully I never have to!

I was sceptical at first given the past history of home insulation stories and methods used. The techinical surveyer knocked on my door and I was plesently surprised there was no sales pitch but facts and clear detailed explanations. As an engineer myself I was impressed so we arrange the survey with him. The survey took around 2 hours where he inspected the cavities with cameras, conducted air flow tests, measured air gaps under doors, and produced detailed planned drawings of the whole house. He stated, that my house was suitable as it passed the strict criteria of survey points. It was also was free under the Goverment home insulation scheme. We agreed to go ahead and 4 weeks later the insulation team and electrical contractors turned up. The teams were very professional, tidy and experienced. They were able to complete all the tasks in the morning. We had the cavities filled, double glazing air vents and extractor fans fitted where applicable. I can report that the whole house is now a lot warmer and the central heating is turned right down. As a follow up we were independently inspected by a home insulation nominated Goverment Standards agency to ensure that the work met the Goverment Insulation specifications and it was done correctly. This meant they checked the cavities were filled plus all fans and air vents fitted. To date, we are pleased to say there are no reported issues and would recommend A&M Energy Sollutions.

Have to say, when I had the knock on the door from A&M about "free cavity wall installation", I confess I was sceptical.

However after a discussion with their representative, which was pressure free and full of knowledge, after checking some things out - I could see it was for real and their reviews on here backed up their words.

Within 3 weeks, we had a appointment to do the cavity wall installation. The team who did the actual work listened to our questions and worked hard to make sure the impact of the filling was minimised.

They were quick, efficient and the impacts of doing it were minimial and the gain of having the cavity filled, really were worthwhile.

All follow-up post installation, including a 10 guarantee were done quickly and exactly when they said they would.

In short would highly recommend A&M Energy without hesitation

We had A&M insulation do our cavity wall insulation and have been pleased with the service. Scottish power arranged them for us and everything was free. George the surveyor was a polite and friendly gentleman and was very patient with my 2 year old following him round the house and getting in the way of his measuring. Chris and Tom, a friendly pair of Geordie lads did the instalation they were hard working and did a good job. They cleaned and tidied up any dust once they had finished and were respectful. Great service from start to finish and I would recommend them to anyone looking for insulation.

The product and process was explained perfectly. Cavity insulation was completed within the day. No mess left on completion. In additionally they replaced two extractor fans and went in to the loft to check it was hooked up correctly.

Was sceptical that this was free (grants) and was suspicious of any hidden cost, however every step of the way from booking the surveyor to operative attending to undertake the works was top service, Arrived as a when they said, very professional and the installer could not if been any more helpful. Good experience. The survey before the works were arranged was quick and the person who surveyed was on time. The actual installation by A&M of cavity wall insulation (beads) went quickly and as planned. I got a telephone call telling me when and what time and the crew arrived promptly. After the job was done they cleaned the surroundings of the house. Can't complain. The only thing is that a few weeks later I found a lot of beads in my loft. Probably when they were pumping beads into the cavity some of these beads were pushed up and ended up pailing up on the loft floor at one or two locations. It is not their fault - I was not aware that there are cavity openings in the loft. So if you are doing cavity wall insulation - maybe check your loft while they are working.
The insulation works well. We felt a difference the next day. The house does not lose heat as fast as before, and when we switch off the heating for the night, it is much 'warmer' when we get up in the morning. I would say the difference is around 2 degrees Celcius. There is no dampness or other problems (the insulation was done over a year ago—two winters). I would recommend such insulation and this company.

A&M cold called regarding the insulation scheme as they had recognized that our property didn't have cavity wall insulation, and fell into a qualifying council tax band and other criteria of the scheme. There's a lot of scare stories on the internet but we decided that seen as the bonded bead product is installed as standard in a lot of new builds and came with a 25 year guarantee, it made sense to go ahead with the insulation and improve the energy efficiency of our home. A&M did a full survey prior the installation and recommended the works to improve the EPC rating without compromising the integrity or damp proofing of the house. Come the installation day, the team turned up bang on time, drilled the holes in the external walls, filled the cavity to the required level with the insulation and filled the holes back in with a grouting product that closely matched the colour of our mortar and our rendering on the front of the house. Afterward we received the guarantee in the post - all that at no expense to us, and covered via the government scheme. The house is warmer in winter and cooler in summer, and our energy bills less expensive. So far no issues with damp at all as the internet may lead you to believe you'll encounter. I'd recommend A&M as a reliable company to have your home insulated if you choose to do so based on our experience to date.

Had 2 fans fitted then they were supposed to return to do the wall insulation but have never made contact with us since. Waste of time.
