Long waiting for authorization.

My doctor sent the request for a prior authorization of LIDOCAINE 5% OINTMENT on 4/9/24. First time I’ve been told it can take up to 3 days. Next time I called on the fifth day and asked representative Angelica(?) to submit a grievance for such a service. She’s got disconnected. Representative Dan said the process can take up to 17 days. What kind of patients can be satisfied with such service waiting in pain for 17 days?!

Worst mail order pharmacy ever!

Ongoing issues for last two weeks. Given different prices for my meds every time I called. Website is slow and cumbersome. Once I finally got my prescriptions, the website would not let me put my credit card number in. I called, got transferred from one incompetent person to the next, and spent over a half hour on the phone; their system wouldn’t accept my payment either! I will likely switch back to my local pharmacy and use GoodRx and break even $.

Worst Prescription Coverage

I recently got a letter stating that my sons' asthma medication had to be changed because there was a medication that was just as safe and effective and cost less. As I had no choice, the doctor switched the medication. The "COST EFFECTIVE" nonsense is a difference of $12 for me over the course of 90 days, so who is this medication really more cost effective for? After talking with several professions, the new medication they will cover, is LESS effective and often does not work. So the bottom line is that my sons health is less important that your bottom line. Additionally, the medication he was on previous (that works great and controls his asthma) is now available in a generic form, which CVS Caremark also will not cover. I wonder how many pockets are getting lined at the expense of my child because this medication is safer, more effective and cheaper for only one person and it is NOT my child.

Negligence = Caremark

My refill prescription has been stuck in "Ready to Ship - Check back soon for your tracking number" mode for 7 days but it never ships. Every time I call their reps say it will ship that same day or the following morning and if it doesn't ship to call back... so I call back nearly every day and I get told the same thing. It's like Groundhog Day with clueless CS reps that don't know how to use their own system or troubleshoot. I spend 30-60 min on the phone each time asking them to please for the love of god figure out what's wrong with my prescription. Maybe my doctor just needs to resubmit it again so it's a fresh and new order because Caremark seems to hate me and my existing order. It's in stock, the prescription has been processed and approved, my credit card and shipping address are approved and valid. My credit card has been charged 4 times in the last 9 days but it never ships and the pending transaction falls off. First I was told it was caught in the system with a different order, I only had one order. Then I was told it was marked out of stock but it's really in stock. Most recently I was told it cant ship because there's a storm, somewhere, not sure where, just somewhere. What?? It's just absolutely unacceptable that no one can be bothered to fix this mistake with their system and every time I call I get another runaround response. I am completely out of my medication and past due for dosages I am supposed to be taking with this prescription Caremark is holding hostage.

Zero Stars!
It is impossible to use your website. I've been ordering online from vendors for the past 20 years. Your website is impossible to even access. I've attempted on many occasions. I'll continue to phone order.

Worst Pharmacy Ever!

Worst pharmacy ever ! They do not deserve any stars at all. Customer service is terrible and they are all so rude and not at all knowledgeable. Nobody should use this pharmacy!!

I would give CVS Caremark 0 Stars if…

I would give CVS Caremark 0 Stars if allowed. Unfortunately, my company switched insurance companies and I had no choice but to use CVS Caremark for a pricey prescription. My issue is that the company processed a payment of $230 from my debit card on Jan 17th, when I removed this as a form of payment and replaced it with my FSA account. Numerous calls to CVS Caremark and speaking to their Senior Account Resolution team and my funds are not back in my checking account a week later.
I asked for an explanation from the numerous representatives and supervisors that I spoke to, and not one could give me an answer. I was advised this matter would be resolved and my funds would be back in my account in 1 business day, and that did not happen. If this happened to me, then I can assure you it has happened to other customers. I will no longer be using CVS Caremark and have transferred all of my prescriptions to another pharmacy (albeit it will be more expensive), but I refuse to give CVS Caremark anymore.

Irresponsible, Unreliable, Untrustworthy, ZERO Stars

Another BIG company that just doesn't care about their customers.
Sadly I was beginning to think well of CVS as a mail order pharmacy until my Medicare Part D Provider changed from them to a different mail order Rx provider. As 2023 came to a close CVS assured me twice that they were going to refill my scripts one more time.
Then on Jan. 1, 2024 they just threw out all member info and order status as though I never existed. Too Bad... Sucks to be You! No Notification, No Order Cancellation update. By the time I realized that my needed refills were not coming my account was inactive and I needed to have new scripts written by my Dr (s) and transmitted to the new mail order pharmacy. I will go days without my needed meds. BAD CVS!

Fraudulent company, do not recommend

Terrible company. I made 11 phone calls in 7 days post surgery (was on phone total of 18 hours) to resolve an issue. They told me my doctor didn’t send 90 day supply but charged me for 90 days $200 dollars and only sent me 30 day supply and said, they won’t refund money bc “the error lies with the doctor, not us.” I could see 90 day script in Caremark system and a supervisor Derrick kept telling me he did not see it, and pharmacist on call did not see it. But then why can I see it in your system? Kept telling me to call my doctor even though they sent correct prescription. Fraudulent company that deliberately overcharges, underfills medicine and refers you to other people who cannot resolve issue.

Wish I had a better option, because

Always had trouble with them as they are forced upon us by company medical.
Will not let you fill more than 2 prescriptions at somewhere other than CVS (but will block it without telling you and only let you know if you call).
Then they forced me to go from a 30 day auto-refill for heart meds to a 90 day. Sounded great until I learned there was no auto-refill option when I was about to run out (again, without telling me until I called.)

I would recommend changing pharmacy’s asap
People who don’t work for cvs specialty are hearing all your information, credit card information, diagnosis, addresses, co payment card information, the list goes on I called to report it never received a call back and the person still works there
I’m taking it to hipaa since cvs thinks it’s ok to break a phi law and not do anything about it. The minimum fine for criminal violations of HIPAA is $50,000. The maximum criminal penalty for a HIPAA violation by an individual is $250,000. Restitution may also need to be paid to the victims. In addition to the financial penalty, a jail term is possible for a criminal violation of HIPAA Rules. Prolly why they are avoiding it.

Bait and Switch

CVS Caremark is unfortunately the prescription coverage in my benefits package of my new job. They are the absolute worst. My prescription copay jumped from $40 for a 30 day supply to $120 for a 30-day supply. When talking to them, they told me if I go through their mail only pharmacy, I could get a 90 day supply for the $120. I told them that is what I wanted to do, and they said they would contact my physician for the prescription. They did contact my doctor, but, although I agreed to a 90 day supply for $120, they apparently requested only a 30 day - charged me the $120 and sent only 30 pills. When I contacted them, the response essentially was "too bad: The prescription was for 30 days". They purposefully quoted me the 90 day price, then requested the massively more expensive 30 day prescription. As a result, I will not have meds for 2 months - as I certainly cannot afford to pay $120 a month.

The 1.8 out of 5 score is better than they deserve

The reason the reviews for Caremark are so low is because they earned them: there is NO attention to detail; there is no accountability; there is no sense of urgency. There is also no way on their website to send an email to complain. Go figure.

The phone system is clumsy and tedious. Expect to be routed to numerous people each one less helpful than the one prior. Use little words and short sentences and have extremely low expectations.

Caremark

Caremark, misses the mark. When I called to ask why a certain medication was not approved by a specialist doctor they informed me that it could only be approved after he had taken other medication first even though the specialist had already proven that the first medication works. Its like they're using him as a guinea pig to experiment on instead of a person .

These morons held up my prescriptions…

These morons held up my prescriptions and I have run out. I take xeralto for the rest of my life. I Have NONE now thanks to their practices to try to get out of covering prescriptions. I have taken this drug for 7 years . If something happens to me they will be sued. Their customer service reps are clueless. They also don't contact you to tell you when you HAVE to use them and get 90 day prescriptions or they don't pay.

Caremark Trolled My Private Data to Try to Fill an Rx sent somewhere else

If you ever get a service at CVS you can never get them to leave you alone. I stopped using them for prescriptions several years ago because I couldn't stop the endless call & text reminders no matter how hard I tried. A few weeks ago I had one short term prescription with no refills filled there only because they were open late and now it has started again! They somehow obtained information on a prescription my doctor sent to another pharmacy & Caremark started calling to tell me "the online pharmacy" needed more information to verify my identity to ask questions before they could fill my prescription. They wouldn't tell me which company they were from & I told them I didn't plan to get it filled online but the calls continued. My insurance company did a 3 way call with me & finally got a rep that said they were CVS Caremark & that they get prescription information from anyone that has an account. Then today I got a call from someone that wanted to schedule my flu vaccine. If I want services there, I will call them. It is clear that if you ever use them for anything they will forever harass you.

Rude customer service that did not solve the problem

I just got off the worst customer service call I have ever experienced. Actually the young woman hung up on me. When I asked her to explain what she meant by her directions, she simply repeated what she said - word for word. I interrupted because she kept repeating the same sentences that did not provide any help. Then she said, you are not listening because you keep interrupting. She was rude from the beginning of the call and it only went downhill from there. But I am trapped because this is the silt order service my insurance company uses.

Very polite, but problem not fixed

I spoke to 3 very nice customer service ladies but still was not able to iron out the tech problem with ordering refills by computer. I received 2 prescriptions from them within the last week! Now they tell me I am not registered. Issue still not resolved:(((((

CVS Caremark has stopped sending 90 day Prescriptions to Oklahoma for no Reason

CVS Caremark has stopped sending 90 day supply medications contracted by American Airlines employees and many other companies in Oklahoma for no reason. Caremark states that a 2019 Oklahoma law said that no 90 day supplies are allowed in this state and that is Not True. Very bad company as they are leaving us in a lurch with 13 different 90 day prescriptions that they will no longer fill. With no other option than to pay much higher rates via 30 day supplies only if we want to use our insurance. Well there are other options to get our 90 day medications delivered to Oklahoma by other companies but it will cost us much more. Beware and don't ever use CVS or CVS Caremark! I heard on the news that Caremark is now starting the same thing in Florida. What a fiasco!
