I’m a 3 time FOW customer
I’m a 3 time FOW customer, albeit with long intervals between purchases.
What I’ve noticed is lack of 121 accountability, sales people at best may identify themselves but no follow up via individual business cards - email addresses etc.
This time I was P/X one car against another, with an established timeframe.
Several days later a FOW employee (unknown) advised completion delayed. I had already arranged insurance transfer at £cost. I was advised that the costs (to reverse) would be reimbursed- via fuel credit.
Several days before pick up ‘Neil’ (collections) advised new completion date.
I reiterated promised fuel cost credit.
Neil acknowledged, and advised he would email “Ash” (Ashley) ehm would arrange.
On collection day - Saturday 29th August ‘Ash’ was on a day off and I was passed to another FOW colleague
‘Surprisingly’ - ZERO fuel in car, so customer out of pocket for FOW mistakes!!!

Poorly prepared test drive
Going to test drive a car, it was not at all prepared even though this was booked, totally flat battery, and virtually no fuel in it, very poor preparation

Wonderful experience at FOW
Wonderful experience at FOW. Friendly staff and the cafe is great for a coffee and a cake. Lots of cars to see, great variety, something for everyone. Saw the car we wanted, went for a test drive and bought it. Couldn't have been easier. Our salesman Alex, was great, very professional and efficient. The only thing that let the experience down was the valeting of the car, we've had to do it ourselves properly after purchase. Otherwise, brilliant 👏.

The sales bit was pretty average
But the aftersales is shocking.
I noticed the car had overdue maintainence on the screen and was advised by the salesman before purchasing that these would be addressed.
After picking the car up I noticed that these items that I highlighted were still overdue.
I rang the salesman who advised that it stated on their system that the overdue items had been carried out but gave me the aftersales email address to confirm this with them.
I emailed the aftersales dept. Out lining what I discussed with the salesman.
After 4 days and no response I rang the aftersales team telephone number, explained again the issue and advised that I needed to speak to someone in Manchester and put me through.
I again explained that I wanted confimation that the overdue items had been addressed and if so how the system on my car could be reset.
I was put on hold for around 10 minutes and then advised that a Sales Manager would need to call me back, I asked how long this would be as I hadnt received a response from my email 4 days earlier the lady advised that someone would respond within 3 hours.
Its the end of the day now and still no contact.
I would definatley not recommend or purchase from this dealership again.
Customer service is sadly lacking.

We completely understand why you wanted confirmation that the maintenance items discussed prior to purchase had been completed, particularly when they were still showing as overdue on the vehicle after collection. Regardless of what was recorded on our internal system, you should have been given a clear explanation of the work carried out and, where necessary, guidance on resetting the vehicle's maintenance notifications.
We're also sorry that you had to chase for a response after emailing us and that the promised callback did not happen within the timeframe you were given. Clear communication and following through on promised updates are extremely important, and we appreciate how frustrating this experience must have been.
Your feedback will be shared with the relevant teams at Manchester so that the communication and follow-up you've described can be reviewed.

If you want an easy and straightforward buying car experience FoW is the place to go. After sales
The car that i bought was at a competitive price and low milage in good condition. The salesman was helpfull and polite, however the car had 3 minor faults which we agreed would be corrected prior to me collecting the car. On the day of collection, I turned up and none of them had been. I had already paid for the car the day before collection at their insistence.

Messaged FOW to tell them that I had done a bank transfer for aot of money to them and within minutes I received a call back to assure me that the transaction had been received. A thoroughly pleasant experience
A thoroughly pleasant experience. Having spotted a couple of interesting vehicles online, I went to the Manchester branch to have a look in person. I was not pressured by sales staff whilst i was looking - which is good.
Once i had made a selection, a test drive was easily organised and completed, a deposit was placed, paperwork completed with Rebecca, and 48 hours (including a service) later, the car was mine.
Update. The new V5C arrived on Thursday morning (48 hours after we completed the paperwork). That is outstanding

car delivered on wednesday 26 august but the front nearside wheel trim was missing and this was pointed out to the delivering salesman who promised to quickly remedy the problem. but the problem has not been rectified to date and i am not happy to drive the car until it is corrected, surely a company as big as FOW can get speedy action. a very disappointed woman. suzanne reddan car reg BF67ZDL
