what a scam
this is a fraud company promise people of fixing covered items or replace it if not fixable, then start the exclusion games, when the item is expensive like an AC. their Ac technician recommended replacement because compressor have problems and he suggested replacing it with the coils and they refuse replacement claiming its under excluded items. I am in the process of starting legal proceedings. but for your purposes don't fall for their marketing ploys when they present it to you. Either have them cross the exclusions and making them clear not generic that anything can fall under it. or don't buy from them period. I will reach out to the attorney general and federal trade commissions for complaints. They are not approved by BBB better business bureau because of many complaints not answered.

If I could give them zero Stars I would. In the first place it took forever for them to deal with the situation with my cooktop then they had the audacity when they tell you that they're going to replace your equipment to offer you $600 for a $2,000 Appliance. These people are nothing but liars and nobody gives you anything but lip service there

Horrible company horrible service
Horrible company horrible service. My oven broke and the servicemen cancelled three times. I tried canceling my policy and got a call by the account manager offering to be a personal mitigator and to ensure he would get the serviceman out. When they came out finally three weeks after it was requested, they needed a part to fix but didn't have the part so issues for a new oven. Liberty said they'd only offer $300 for a new oven, not even half the cost of modern ovens. American home shield gave me a brand new refrigerator twice in a year for two separate broken refrigerators. I had to order a air fryer on Amazon instead of get a brand new oven. I cancelled my policy once I realized they cheap out of a replacement when needed. It's been over two months and I am still waiting for my $300 check for my air fryer "oven" I've left emails and called in countless times. I was told my check was cashed and then when they sent proof of was not the correct amount and not my name issued to, so completely wrong. Stay far away from this company they won't pay out when you actually need a replacement for appliance. I only used them for this one service call and it told me everything I needed to know. Hope I get my $300 eventually which they apparently think is worth an oven cost.

I filed a claim with Liberty on 12/27 after my ice maker stopped working. The contractor missed the first diagnostic appointment, came out on 1/11. Said he needed to order parts, came out to replace parts on 1/22. He did not thaw out the line or check to see if it was working before he left. The next day, I notified him that the ice maker was still not working and that the refrigerator was now not cooling properly and was throwing error codes. He said he knew what the problem was and would come back out to fix it. I had to empty my refrigerator and freezer because I did not want my food to spoil, as the fridge was not keeping proper temperature. Between 1/22 and 2/23 this contractor scheduled SIX different appointments with me and no-called, no-showed to every one of them. I finally got tired of it and contacted Liberty, let them know about the situation and requested that a new contractor be assigned. Initially, they told me that they would reach out to the contractor directly and get him to come out. I requested that they escalate my claim and assign it to another contractor. They told me that they would. Initially, they offered me under $400 towards the replacement of the fridge. When I told them that was not acceptable (what kind of refrigerator can I purchase for $400?). Then I was told that they would give me $500 credit towards a replacement if I purchased it through them, they would send me options that I could choose from. They sent me two options, both refrigerators were $1,600, not including tax, delivery or installation (I would still have to pay for those). So, I would be about $1,500 out of pocket. I asked if they had any other more affordable options, they told me they did not. When I asked if they could just issue me a $500 check and I would go purchase my own, they said they could give me $300!!! At this point it was 3/19, I had been without a functioning refrigerator for 3 months and could not go any longer so I accepted it, ordered my own appliance and had it delivered and installed. In the meantime, my dishwasher stopped working (when it rains, it pours). I submitted the claim on 2/28. They sent someone out 3/10 to “diagnose” it, they determined that since it was older it was beyond its useful life. They, again, offered me $300 towards the replacement, if I ordered the dishwasher from them. This time, I agreed to do so. My out of pocket was $250 for the dishwasher. They came and installed it 4/1 and after it ran through the first cycle it leaked all over my floor. I called Liberty the same day to let them know. They said they would “make a note” and someone would contact me from purchasing on instructions for how to return the unit. I also reached out to the installers, they sent someone out a day later and said that the unit was probably defective and needed to be replaced. After 3 days (passed their promised 48 hr timeframe), I called Liberty again to ask about the return/replacement process. They then told me that since I accepted the delivery that it was my issue to deal with. I would need to contact the manufacturers warranty for a replacement…. WHAT???? That is crazy, I purchased the appliance from Liberty, they arranged delivery and installation and now I am responsible for their defective appliance?? Today is 4/11, I have been without a dishwasher for 6 weeks, and now I have a defective appliance to deal with on my own. Outside of the warranty premiums, I am out of pocket $2,700. It would have been cheaper not to have the warranty at all, at this point I don't know what the purpose is, if I have to pay out of pocket for new appliances. They have covered nothing.

Liberty Home Guard is the most awful household appliance warranty company ever! They deny many claims. If they do approve, it takes months and months to repair or supply a new one. I have waited 3 months, and NOTHING! PLEASE DON'T EVER sign up with Liberty Home Guard. There are 1300 complaints with BBB. Countless lawsuits. And complaints with the FTC and the Attorney General of NY. BUYER BEWARE!
Zero customer service
They have zero respect for you or your personal preferences. 4 months before our policy renews, they are hounding me with texts and emails multiple times a day. I have requested they stop several times, but they just increased their spam campaign.

This week I filed a ac claim for the UV Light in my heater.
They declined it because it was an electrical repair. They said they don’t pay for electrical repairs per their terms of service. Have you ever tried to read a Terms of Service written by Attorneys! It is all legal crap we can’t understand! The repair would cost them $925.00. Just as a matter of kindness I was offered $150 for my trouble. That would have been $775 out of our pocket.

I really do not recommend them any longer. I have been working with them for years but things have changed. They send unqualified technicians, you ask refund and they ask you 10 times if you want a refund!!! What kind of service is that. I think I am gonna go back to American home shield. I never had any issue with them. Just someone else recommended liberty home guard and I wanted to try now I can say stay away from them!! No apologize, no gesture, nothing!!!

Scammed by Liberty Home Guard
It's been a month since our dishwasher broke & I am still without a replacement. Liberty deemed my dishwasher too expenisive to repair so they offered me $400 towards the replacement or they would give me a dishwasher costing between $400 - $500. My dishwasher cost around a $1000 plus installation & taxes. So they if I was to buy a dishwasher of comparative value I would take a loss of $800. Their advertizements say they will replace your appliance worry free however suddenly having to come up with $800 is hardly worry free. What is the point of having a home warrenty if it is only going to pay 1/4 of the cost of replacement or replace your expensive apliance with a cheap piece of junk. I have made multiple offers to Liberty for a compromise I even offered to help pay for one that was red tagged at a local store only to receive more stalls. Do yourself a favor & put your premium into a savings account instead of buying a warrenty. Save yourself the headaches!

UPDATE: After over a week of waiting and calling daily, they assigned Selenia as my "senior account manager". She provided a direct number for better communication, and worked hard to move the case forward. A/C was finally repaired after 10+ days (a simple 45min work), though i still have to pay for the installation. I truly appreciate Selenia's work in resolving this case, she was courteous and diligent with follow up communication. But the overall experience was still unpleasant. Anyone may decide for themselves if it's worth paying $1500 for a policy so you can pay $75 to open a case then pay extra for labor cost.
ORIGINAL POST: Absolutely horrendous and dishonst service. We paid $1500+ for 2 years of home warranty when purchasing our home. 6 months in, our AC stopped working so I paid $75 to open a claim ticket through liberty home guard. They arranged a technician that showed up in 2 days. The guy said the condensing unit's motor is bad, he could replace it on the same day, but since it's going through warranty, we'll have to wait for Liberty home guard to approve the resolution. So we started waiting for Liberty... for OVER A WEEK! I called everyday to get an update, only to get the same answer "resolution department is reviewing the case, and they will provide a resolution... maybe tomorrow". and tomorrow became 3 days, and became a week, still no resolution. and an account manager finally calls to update me that they are pricing out a whole replacement unit, and will have the proposal to me "soon". But to this day (day 9), still no follow up. It sounds like they don't want to perform the repair covered by the policy, they would rather sell me a new unit "for a discount" out of my pocket. Meanwhile, my 70 year old parents and new born baby are living in 95 degree texas heat without AC for a week. This company is the worst! If there is a lawyer out there, please tell me if i can sue them for damages
