The physician spent 3 minutes with me…
The physician spent 3 minutes with me to tell me he couldn't see me and charged $470 that insurance could not cover. He literally said seven words to me..."you will have to come into see me". I sent several notes to one medical assuming they would recognize that at best it was miscoding and at worst fraudulent. I received canned responses. I canceled my subscription.
worried surgery will never be the same again after this company took over
When one medical took over they promised to keep the same staff as before and would provide a better service, None of this is true as their are not hardly any of the previous staff. The nurses wing seems half empty and the doctors that are there only stay a few weeks or a couple of months. the surgery always appears to be almost empty. Do not sell out to this company. Not worth the one star.

Such a disappointing experience from One Medical- Amazon. I was so excited about trying one medical. Their billing and coding department was awful to interactúe with. The fees are si high even for tele services. I wish I had read rhe reviews before signing up.
Admin staff uses ChatGPT too much
Please stop having your admin staff use ChatGPT to respond! Recently I had a billing question about why One Medical no longer forwarded my insurance information to Labcorp when doing bloodwork. Someone replied saying it’s not their job to do that and they never did that. When I responded saying this was new behavior as of this year, I got a response saying the exact same thing as the first message but written by an LLM (probably ChatGPT). It gave no new information and I’m pretty sure they just copy and pasted the original message and asked for a new version but more verbose and to keep a “warm” tone. I’m used AI enough to know when something is written by an LLM. Protip, real humans don’t excessively use em dashes. It’s also a dead giveaway when someone completely changes their written style in the next message. Most importantly, my question about why they used to forward my insurance information but no longer was never answered. One Medical has become much worse since acquired by Amazon.
Cancel Membership Dark Pattern
It's basically impossible to cancel my membership $199. I've spent days trying to get it canceled, have reached out to them multiple times only to get automated messages from a bot that explains how to do something unrelated 0/10 would not recommend.
Scheduling specialist visits is insane
I have been a patient at One Medical in the DC area for about 6 years. The doctors and staff in each office have been wonderful. But administration and scheduling is ridiculous. I had to have a colpo last year and since my PCP isn't trained I had to see a different doctor. I have a low grade cervical lesion that needs to monitored. I couldn't schedule through the app because she isn't my PCP, and they said she is not taking new patients. I am NOT a new patient! And I have a literal request from this doctor to schedule with her in my app. I get it scheduled, an early morning 7:50am appointment 25 miles away in DC (I'm out in VA). While I'm getting ready I get a portal message that I didn't look at, because I assumed it was my bloodwork results from the week before and I get on the road because I was running late, pay a toll to go on the expressway. So 15 to 20 minutes AFTER the portal message they call me to tell me my appointment was cancelled. Like things happen, totally get that, but WHO DOESN'T pick up the phone and call the 1st patient on the schedule immediately? You think everyone is keeping up with portal messages? So then when I have to reschedule, which again, can't schedule through the portal so I have to go though messaging and I get the whole you're not a patient of hers, again. YES I AM, how many times do I have to say this, don't you people track notes in the system???? When I express my frustration, she says "emergencies are unavoidable." I'm not frustrated over there being an emergency and cancellation!!!!!! I'm frustrated over no one picking up the damn phone and calling me immediately so that I wouldn't have gotten on the expressway that has a $20 toll! Then she says someone will get back to me to reschedule, but nope, I need to send another message 4 days later to get it rescheduled.
So I finally have my appointment, and my pap came back saying my lesion is changing. Again, have to schedule through the app for my Colpo. Today, I get a cancellation of my appointment through the app, no phone call, just a message telling ME to call or reschedule through the app, which AGAIN, I can NOT schedule though the app. I call, get put on hold for 15 minutes and then she can't help me or get me to the people who can. So I have to message again. Not them message me to reschedule. I have to message them.
You would think that since the news of my lesion changing is concerning, they would handle this with better care. Now, everyone I have connected to has been very nice, so I can't tell if there is some level of incompetence among the admin staff or if their communication polices just suck or it's just that the system is not setup to handle specialty appointments.
I pay a fee to go to one medical for convenience, ease and consistency but these last couple months have been ridiculous. As someone who works in IT consulting, Amazon has some of the best engineers in the country and they can't make some simple changes to the app differentiating between PCP and specialist visits? Why do I have to jump through hoops to schedule a damn pap or colpo??? Get your shit together Amazon. You're already being targeted by boycotts, DO BETTER!
They can't do anything at all
They can't do anything at all. They won't write for simple antibiotics.
Total waste of time!
This was a free service to use from my company. I was a little skeptical about it. I ended up giving it a try. They have incompetent providers working here. I was misdiagnosed right off from the start and asked to go to an in-person visit. In-person visit for a basic issue? Umm no thanks. If you can’t tell the difference from normal vs abnormal through Telehealth what makes you think an in-person provider will be able to help. Never again using this garbage!
Misleading Trial Promises and Poor Customer Service
Patients should be aware that One Medical claims there are no charges during the 14-day trial period. However, after completing a visit scheduled during that time, patients will be billed — despite being told otherwise by One Medical staff.
In one case, the team acknowledged that incorrect information was given (confirmed through recorded calls), yet still refused to waive the charges. A fair resolution was proposed: apply the advertised pay-per-visit fee (listed on their website as $29 to $49) and cancel the membership. Even this was declined.
Customer service interactions are disappointing. Representatives consistently talk over the patients, are dismissive, and ultimately point to the website fine print instead of taking accountability for what their staff communicated.
Anyone considering One Medical should proceed with caution. It’s strongly advised to get any information about charges or policies in writing and not rely solely on what is said by staff over the phone.
I was charged $600 for a PHONE CALL…
I was charged $600 for a PHONE CALL requesting sleep meds. The meds prescribed are absolutely horrible on top of everything else.
In addition, I was given estimates for 5 tiers of care/complexity - this was SECOND FROM THE TOP. What is the low complexity, 'hi, bye'?
Really terrible
Also tried to call and was told to request a callback. BUT, they never called back. What am I actually paying for?
Disorganized, Unskilled, and Abandons Patients When It Matters Most
I had an extremely disappointing and costly experience with One Medical. Over the course of a long-term relationship with them, I spent thousands of dollars on doctor visits, referrals, and labs, expecting at least basic care coordination and record-keeping. Instead, I found that their doctors do not maintain detailed clinical notes, and lack the expertise to manage complex or chronic conditions beyond routine visits.
Despite outside specialists formally diagnosing me with a disabling condition and recommending long-term disability, and even writing a formal letter for SSA, when it came time to complete a simple RFC (Residual Functional Capacity) form — a standard part of the disability process — One Medical refused to assist. After a long period of charging me for appointments, tests, and referrals, they ultimately abandoned me when I needed critical documentation to protect my health and livelihood.
One Medical markets itself as "care-centered," but in reality, their system is fragmented, inattentive, and not equipped to support patients with anything beyond the most basic short-term needs. I would strongly caution anyone with chronic, disabling, or complex medical issues to seek care elsewhere.
For context, my experience is related to NJ and NY offices.
Just Making Jeff Bezos Richer - Total SCAM
I thought it is part of the amazon and will have good services. But this is totally third class. When I went to meet the doctor, she prescribed a most expensive dedications that will cost $750 per month out of pocket when there is an alternative available for $20 co pay. It took the doctor over a week to give this alternate medication.
In the membership fee there is nothing free. Everything they will charge. Even if you want a simple prescription like doxycycline , you need to pay their consultation fee of $100 and up.
This is day light robbery. They want you pay $10 a month so that they can rob you for ever.
Waste of time and money
I had my visit via text everything went smoothly until after the visit. I entered my insurance information and was told it would take 8 days to get a response about insurance coverage from Amazon Pharmacy. I decided after 7 days I decided to change the pharmacy to a local one that already has my insurance in hopes it would expedite the process. The providers refused to resend my rx to the local pharmacy. They wanted to make things more complicated and have me ask my local pharmacy to call the Amazon pharmacy for a transfer. As a provider myself it is very easy to resend a prescription and avoid the hassle. In my treatment plan it stated I could just send the new pharmacy info to the provider, but in another section said I needed to have the pharmacy request transfer. Considering there was conflicting information on my treatment plan in regards to rx transfer you would think they would send my rx for me as part of good customer service, but no. Then I get an email stating my prescriber has not responded to prior authorization requested I follow up with the provider only to find out they do not complete prior authorizations, so I basically wasted my time and money on a visit for medication I can’t get. This was a waste of my time and money. Hopefully they will fix these issues. As providers transferring prescriptions and completing prior authorizations are a necessary function of providing efficient and quality healthcare. It shouldn’t be fragmented like this.

I had an annual visit with Dr Farhoomandi. He was professional, friendly, and a great listener. I really felt taken care of. The wait time was minimal too.
Have you ever met organization with fake insurance bills
Have you ever met health clinics with fake bills, incorrect invoicing with random doctor's name? If not,pls land to the one medical space. I was billed a copay for lab orders through my cigna PPO insurance which never needed any additional payments anywhere. My previous history of 2 years ( which i am ending now) shows as well that no lab orders were charged by them last year.
Recently, they added a fake doctor's visit ( Dr. KEVIN c Fell), whom I never ever met. The issue was recognized by their team and Cigna and was to be reprocessed for cancellation. Fun part is ... the billing department is chasing me to pay that fake amount in the name of some Kevin's visit. I have written to them and haven't received any response yet.
But I have determined to take any level of escalations if this fakism is encouraged.
I think it's important to reconsider others over One Medical for authentic services and bills.
Long time customer in San Francisco
Long time customer in San Francisco. Loved One Medical's focus on patient experience. The practitioners listened to what I was telling them and cared about my health outcomes. It was super easy to get an appointment or change PCP as needed. Very much wish I had something like that in Detroit.
Work for myself
Work for myself, so no medical insurance. Signed up for One Medical through Amazon. All they cover is a virtual visit that instructs you to go to an office. I asked how much the office visit would cost and she said someone would call me back in the next day or 2 to let me know what the office visit is going to cost. What a waste of money, as they don't refund any per of the yearly fee. There are other virtual clinics you can sign up with that offer much better care.
WARNING: EXTEMELY HIGH OFFICE FEES
Went to see a PCP there and she was great, however BE AWARE One Medical charges EXTREMELY HIGH fees for a regular office visit. I was unexpectedly **billed almost $1100 for a ~45 minute office visit** of which I now have to pay the majority under my HD insurance plan. They were NOT willing to provide any information about the expected cost of the service when I asked repeatedly prior to the appointment. If you are expecting more than a co-pay, GET THE FEE IN WRITING before deciding whether it is worth it to visit this office or any other One Medical provider.
Nightmare on Broadway, Tucson AZ
when I moved to Tucson AZ I was referred to this facility by my health insurance provider. This was four years ago going on five. I called to speak with the NP that I had last seen in October 2023. I was not allowed a phone conference with her but some other person did call to inform me that I would not be allowed to speak with her but that an in office visit would be required and that I would be considered a new patient. I then learned that this facility has been purchased by Amazon. I'm stunned at this revelation and told Samantha that I would not be returning to their facility and I would be contacting my health insurance provider with details of this situation. Also advised them that this situation is not, as of this date, resolved. I'm 84 yrs old people, not brain dead. If you're taking the time to read this, please consider investigating your association with this facility. In my four years going there I cannot say it was a pleasure; but a real nightmare...
