Used one medical for years
Used one medical for years, happily before Amazon took over.
Everything changed and they are not available on weekends, not many MD doctor options , most of them are now students or nurses. Also, all the good doctors have left. Good job, Amazon! They knew we don’t need any support on our insurance system.
They refuse one Medical refer me to get…
one Medical refuse to refer me to get a full body MRI and they refused to refer me to a pain doctor they have the worst doctors they refuse to treat you and diagnose you and I am going to be filing a lawsuit with a medical malpractice attorney
Misdiagnosis, misinformation, and unwillingness to listen to patients
The pros: The doctors, nurses and technicians were nice.
The cons: The doctor misdiagnosed what she thought was a mole (it was in fact a cyst that could only be surgically removed). I was recommended a cryotherapy to remove the mole (which was in fact a cyst), and was told by One Medical staff that it would be covered 100% by my insurance. After ~15 minutes of cryotherapy with a technician, I was charged $793.58. When asked about insurance coverage, I was told that since I haven't met my deductible for the year, I need to pay 100% of the bill.
I spent hours on the phone with One Medical billing department; basically, they had no intention of adjusting the bill, and they were not not going to follow up about the misdiagnosis. I also called Blue Shield of California (my insurance), and learned that Blue Shield has no power to adjust the bill as it came from One Medical.
The phone call with Blue Shield was still informative, however, in that I learned that One Medical basically maxed out all possible charges for their (misdiagnosed) 15 min technician treatment. Now I'll know to avoid One Medical until they know how to correctly diagnose their patients and not misinform them about the charges.
Quick and easy refill through Amazon One Medical
I used the One Medical service through the Amazon app to get a 30-day refill of a prescription medication. The process is quick and easy. You can choose a video visit or a text-only visit. The text visit was $29. I got a response within a few minutes from a nurse practitioner and the refill was sent to my pharmacy. The entire process took 30 minutes. I would definitely use the service again.
Zoom Call = $1000.00
Had a twenty minute zoom call with a NP who ultimately prescribed a sleeping med. A month later I received a bill for 750.00, which was discounted from 1000.00. I called One Medical and spoke with a very nice person who agreed the price for a visit of this nature shouldn't be 1000.00. She submitted a dispute to the coding department, which was ultimately denied. They said the 750.00 bill was accurate. Sooo.. for a twenty minute zoom call I paid 750.00. This is an absolute rip off. DO NOT put yourself in this position.
Almost completely useless for teledoc…
Almost completely useless for teledoc outside of getting a prescription medication. For "my health" they refused to provide a referral for a physical therapy since I wasn't in person for them to ask me the same exact questions that they are capable of doing over the phone. That's a lot to pay for a prescription merely for NP's to only be useful for prescription medications. Nothing like saying we care about your health and wellbeing than denying a referral because you can't charge more money for an office visit.
This used to be a good geriatric…
This used to be a good geriatric medical group until Amazon bought them. Now they look for the cheapest way to give the minimum help. I've gone through about 8 doctors in a few years because no one wants to work there anymore.
Terrible GP services
Run my local doctors surgery. It’s gone downhill fast. Outright rudeness staff. Administration is terrible with it extremely difficult to make appointments, long waits, delays, and a rubbish online triage system. Shame on this company.
Recently taken over my doctors surgery
Recently taken over my doctors surgery.
Well where do I start.
When I have been to the surgery to pick up my prescriptions there isn’t a sole in sight. Strange for a doctors.
I have tried to call and do an online consult to be told there are only 10 spaces.
Getting through is impossible.
I did get to see a doctor a very uncaring, scruffy doctor who totally ignored my pain for which I was struggling with and ordered some irrelevant tests. Urine and poop tests.
I left crying.
A couple of weeks later I got through to a very agitated receptionist and I told her my knee was swollen and, at that moment she cut my conversation off and said doctor will call you later. I was going to say had she not rudely cut me off my knee is swollen and painful and I am having circulation problems. The phone rang a few minutes later and the receptionist called and said ‘doctor said to put you on the physio waiting list. Put the
phone down.
Read my notes I have seen physio speaking to deaf ears.
Today I am leaving a surgery I have been with for 43 years.
I have always managed to get the Care I needed until now.
Goodbye one Medicare don’t think you will last long.
Horrendous
Horrendous. They aggressively market themselves as a less intrusive form of healthcare and then screw you with exclusions and restrictions. Avoid at all costs.
Hit up this awesome drug store and was blown away. The staff r super on their game. Got some major insurance coverage vibes, which made the visit so stress-free. Prices won
Hit up this awesome drug store and was blown away. The staff r super on their game. Got some major insurance coverage vibes, which made the visit so stress-free. Prices won't pinch your wallet. Pharmacists know their stuff and then some, fixed my questions on the fly.
One Medical gave me the complete run…
One Medical gave me the complete run around after a very serious injury. Don't trust them with anything. They don't care about their patients at all. It's a complete waste of time and money.
Total trash
Total trash. They say you can get help for simple issues then try to funnel you into expensive doctor visits for things that are minor and only need an antibiotic. They literally act like you are some kind of junkie trying to get opiods. Seems like a scam just to send you to their crap doctors. don't waste your time. More billionaire BS and no help for those who can't afford expensive in person visits. Very rude and unprofessional also.
No doctors available in San Francisco
No doctors available in San Francisco. If we want care TODAY we have to go to the emergency room. Prior to Amazon's ownership, more doctors were available. AVOID THIS SCAM. Do not sign up for One Medical
Useless virtual care and big bill
I used their virtual care and spent 5 minutes with the nurse online. She said she couldn't help, doesn't know the diagnosis and asked us to go to the urgent care. Later, we received a bill for over $100 for the 5 minutes useless call. Complained to the billing department and they refused to recode it. So, expect no help and big bill anyway.
I also scheduled a 5 min follow up call with a nurse about the treatment I received in their office a few days ago as I didn't get any better. They billed me about $200 for the 5 minute call. My insurance company told me they billed for 30 minutes for this.
I will not use their virtual care anymore.
I needed two prescriptions refilled…
I needed two prescriptions refilled after moving to another state and primary care doctors accepting new patients in my new area wait time was 120 days minimum. I signed up for One Med in the morning around 10:00 am and had a virtual tele call from a nurse practitioner by 12:00 pm that asked me to confirm a few health questions, and she placed a prescription order with CVS that I picked up @ 4;00 pm the same day so it was very convenient to deal with One Med for something as simple as this. I have to say that the scripts were simple, high blood pressure meds and type 2 diabetes meds so nothing exotic. I will say that I had a hard time navigating the App as they force you to use an App on a smart phone in lieu of your laptop etc. I guess I'll get used to navigating the App so overall for my experience it was a 10 for my prescription refills and a 5 for ease of App navigation.
Prepare yourself for a large surprise bill later
Impossible to know how much you’ll be charged. Why bother paying a monthly fee PLUS whatever surprise bill comes later depending on your insurance. I’ve used a few different virtual doc services over the past several years and the charge was clear upfront. And it was WAY less than the surprise bill I got from Amazon after a routine visit (which ended me up in Urgent Care with a doc telling me I should have been sent for an in person visit for that type of issue AND not been on the med prescribed. I’m less upset about that than the large surprise bill on top of the monthly fee. What is the point of this?? How is it beneficial?? If you don’t have AMAZING insurance, use literally any other telehealth company for a virtual visit for the same experience & WAY less money. Those companies at least don’t hide what you might be billed later! The fee is clear and paid upfront. So upset.
I've had nothing but good experiences…
I've had nothing but good experiences with One Medical. Any time I've needed to see a provider remotely or in person, I've been able to. For example I just needed an antibiotic on a Sunday and was able to do a telehealth call to get one. The providers are always knowledgeable and act with care. I wish it didn't cost so much but I feel the value when I do thinks like pop open the app today to schedule an annual exam.
bait and switch wrapped around overbilling
We recently tried One Medical via Amazon.
This service was advertised as a $49.99 virtual healthcare visit. Upon learning that we were not physically in the US (we were in France at the time) the doctor said that he is not able to consult. Following my short explanation of the issue, he reiterated that he could not help and I should be seen in person at an urgent care type facility. This entire call lasted less than 5 minutes.
Imagine the surprise when, a couple of weeks later, I received a bill for $230 with reason as “New Patient Office Visit: Complex”.
I reached out to One Medical saying that (1) this was not an office visit (2) it certainly wasn’t complex and (3) the rate for a video consult is $49.99. All I received in response was a convoluted boilerplate saying that somewhere/somehow I had picked a different path than Amazon’s advertised $49.99 service, resulting in much higher billing for the same service. This response totally ignored the fact that it was not “an office visit” and there is nothing “complex” if the physician is unable to consult.
My subsequent email reiterating that this was not an office visit, that the virtual meeting lasted less than 5 mins, was by no means complex and the only outcome was the suggestion to go to an urgent care facility went unanswered.
Yet the bills just keep coming.
To me, this is a clear case of bait and switch wrapped around overbilling with incorrect service description. Needless to say, I have no plans to pay this outrageous and improper bill. Moreover, if One Medical do not address their disengenous practice of claiming a brief and utterly useless chat with someone who was not able to offer any medical opinion or input as a “complex visit”, I plan to broadly expose this practice on social media, and report it to compliance, health authorities, consumer protection as well as to Amazon executives as they should re-evaluate their relationship with such a shady operation.
