Cancelling my policy with Perfect Pet has been unnecessarily hostile. They proposed a price increase of £4pm (a 21% rise) despite zero claims in the period, and when I tried to cancel by email, I was told this wasn't possible and I had to call instead.

This directly contradicts their own renewal documentation, which states you can turn off automatic renewal "at any time by contacting us" - no mention of phone-only. In practice, email cancellation requests are refused and you're redirected to a phone line, open limited hours. When I called, I waited over 10 minutes to speak to someone, unreasonable given they force everyone through this one channel.

It got worse: after I cancelled my direct debit, they sent an automated email threatening to suspend cover for the remainder of my current policy term (not just the renewal), warning that any new conditions for my dog wouldn't be covered in the meantime, based on a payment they claimed was missing. It wasn't - I'd already paid, and they later admitted this was their error, with no real acknowledgement of the stress caused.

I eventually got the cancellation confirmed by phone, but the whole process felt designed to make leaving as difficult as possible, and their own documentation doesn't match how they actually operate. Avoid.

Very helpful re my policy renewal, I have a elderly girl who we felt no longer required the top cover we had for her as we would not be putting her through any long term procedures or surgeries at her age. Jake was very helpful in going through a couple of other policies which would cover our girl for any minor ailments. Great service, thanks Jake.
