Trying to support local business rather than Amazon and ordered 2 cake tins on a Thursday and paid £5 for delivery so I expected next day or maybe 48hr delivery. It's now Wednesday and still no sign and no response to emails. Back to Amazon I guess :0(

Ordered a knife sharpener £40 they have stolen my money scumbags. Hoping to get my money back via PayPal

Avoid this company do not buy anything

I buy from Richmond Cookshop once every few years. Each time they have been excellent.

Placed my order which took a little longer to arrive than stated But due to limited air freight this has to be expected.
Perhaps Richmond Cook Shop should put this on their website
Communication was excellent and all my emails answered due to my concerns my order wasnt going to arrive for a birthday present.
Would definately use again.

They have taken my money and have never delivered my item and have never responded to correspondence. They should shut their website down if they have gone out of business.

I ordered a Scanpan and waited for a delivery date, none came. I emailed them when I might expect delivery which they ignored. I then tried calling them many times and no one picked up the phone or when someone did they put it down again immediately. I cancelled the order by email and still waiting for them to confirm they have cancelled the order as I still haven't got my money back.

I bought a set of Shun Knives and a Whetstone from these guys and initially everything was going well. When they sent a notification that they were going to ship the goods I contacted them to say that I would be out for the weekend and they came back within a couple of hours the same day and offered alternative delivery slots, so initially great customer service.

The issues started when the goods arrived. All of the knives were there but the Whetstone was missing. I contacted them to ask when I could expect the Whetstone to arrive but received no response. I spent the next two months trying to get a response from them and each and every time i contacted them it was the same, complete radio silence.

Finally I got so fed up with them that I told them that unless they responded and explained what was going on that I would go through the small claims court to get my money back and yet again all I got was radio silence.

So now I have a claim going through the small claims court to recover the £99 cost (plus now £25 in court costs) for the Whetstone. Whist it seems a bit overkill to do this for me its now the principal and looking through all the other comments I want to give these guys a clear message that their behaviour is not acceptable.

I just wish I had looked at the trustpilot reviews before ordering from them.

As an update to the above as of the 27th August

Richmond Cookshop, aka "Viv" finally realised after about a week of the small claims court claim being filed against their company that I was serious and rang me twice but unfortunately I was unable to answer due to my work commitments. Viv left voicemails claiming she knew nothing about the correspondence and was "very sorry" for what had happened.

Interestingly an extension, as is the defendant's right, was requested from the court to respond to the claim which the court granted and even more interestingly they then failed to respond to the court in time even then so now I have requested a judgement which will result in these guys having a CCJ logged against them. There goes any hope of credit for the next 6 years!!

I am going to await with interest as to how they now react and whether they see sense and subsequently refund the £125.67 they now owe. I've given them another month to pay what they own and if they don't refund the money I am going to send the bailiffs in to make sure they clearly understand that they cannot get away with behaving like this any longer.

They messed with the wrong person this time!

As an update to the above as of the 16th September

I have my County Court Judgement in writing now against Richmond Cookshop and the.court has ordered them to repay the monies by 28th September.

They clearly are not taking this seriously enough If they don't pay the monies owed by this date then I am just going to send the bailiffs in to recover it.

If we then don't get the money then I will send them in to seize goods. This is just going to get more and more expensive for them now by the week.

Not sure if other customers are having issues with specific lines but my Wusthof knife set order went through perfectly. Had a call to check my (considerable) age the next day and couriers delivered a day early . From my perspective a good purchase as the price was very competitive.

I've had the same experience as others regarding orders not being fulfilled. PLEASE always read reviews. My order was back in June with the same email stating it would be 5-10 days for the order to be dealt with. Nothing. Emails ignored. In view of the reviews I opened a dispute through Paypal. Find your item elsewhere, even if it is a few pounds more expensive and save the stress.

My review below still stands but out of the blue this afternoon I got a call from Viv saying that my knife is all ready to be sent out to me. I have no faith in this company as it was a real rigmarole and I had to go to my bank and PayPal to get this resolved so I asked for and received and immediate refund as I had sourced the knife elsewhere and paid for it - albeit at a much higher price.

I'm guessing that the call came about because I opened and then escalated the issue to PayPal and this forced her hand.
I've had a resolution to my problem (7 days after paying my money) but reading below many others are still gnashing their teeth . . . .

I wish I had read the appaling reviews on this company before I ordered. Like so many others I paid my money then no contact, no goods and no refund. PayPal has been informed, as has my bank but they will all take another 2 weeks before anything can be done to let this company address the issue

I also have had the money taken immediately followed by the email stating they couldn’t dispatch on the date they’d originally stated
A couple of ignored emails so I thought I’d just ring and speak to someone.
I spoke to Viv today and she said she would give the Alessi supplier a call and call me back,as expected NO CALL

I have used this company many times in the past and had a pretty good experience although the delivery times have been slow due to lack of stock.
My latest dealings confirms many others experience with this company, appalling. Ordered item over 2 weeks ago and had absolutely no confirmation of the order then or since. Contacted several times as the money has been debited from my account and you guessed it! 0 response. Avoid at all costs, I can only assume they've gone under. Disgraceful behaviour.

Ordered an item as a gift with next day delivery. Never dispatched, never contacted, nothing. Tried for days to get through via phone on a number that just kept ringing. Eventually got through to someone who told me there was a delay on things and the knife wasn't even in stock!!

They promised to ring a supplier and ring me back in a little while to try and get it to me ASAP. I should think so too considering I had paid for next day delivery and this was a week later almost. Anyways.... they never rang back.

Had to get in touch with them again and they promised the item would be sent the following tuesday if it arrived from supplier in time before last post. If not, definitely the wednesday. Tuesday and Wednesday both came and went with no contact. So I emailed them to which they never replied, nothing on the phone again..

Days passed and after the weekend I decided enough was enough and to open a PayPal dispute. Lo and behold the item shipped immediately. Still awaiting the reply to my email though which will never come...

TLDR: Worst customer service and experience I've had online. Shop elsewhere. AVOID.

An excellent, personal service provided during the crisis. Kept up to date when faced with a delay of a couple of days on my order due to the crisis. Went above and beyond working from home to get my order to me. The effort was really appreciated and the price was highly competitive. What a brilliant service.

Excellent service. Ordered Knife Sharpener on Thursday, got immediate email confirmation, expected delivery Monday. Item arrived first thing Saturday. Well packed and in great order. Lovely helpful lady, Great service particularly considering the challenges of lockdown, cannot recommend highly enough. Many thanks Richmond Cook Shop. :-)

AVOID ordered 6 Alessi mugs 6 weeks ago and Nothing! Ignore my emails.. I just wish I read the reviews, every one can't be wrong all the reviews are spot on , they take your money and haven't even got the items and then ignore you , I just hope I get a refund through PayPal

I have ordered a knife sharpener from Richmond Cookshop over 5 weeks ago, and in spite of reassurances that it is 'on the way' it has yet to arrive. I have twice asked for my monty back but no response. Worst on line shopping experience to date that I have had.

It didn't start well. But they handled the situation well. I ordered a roasting pan, expecting it to be in stock and that delivery wouldn’t take long. I phoned on the 5th day, to see if it had been shipped. I was told that the item hadn’t been in stock, and that they were expecting it, in 2 or 3 days and it would then be shipped. Luckily I wasn’t in a hurry. I phoned them on the third day and they said it would be in stock that day and they would then ship the order. I got an email saying delivery would be the following day. And sure enough it was sent with next-day delivery, and the carrier gave me notification of the expected time-slot. So although I should have been notified that the item wasn’t in stock and there could be a delay, the transaction was handled well. Viv was very pleasant to deal with, she gave me the truth of the situation, and told me exactly what would happen. And it did.

I ordered an Alessi table centrepiece on the 24th January. Received an acknowledgement and then nothing. When I chased by email it took ages to reply, had to chase again and then got an email from Viv saying that there was a delay with the item coming to their warehouse and to would be delivered in 5 to 10 days. Still nothing. Sent another email and was told she was dealing with a lot of spam!! Called today and she repeated the spam claim, then said that it was coming in soon. I had already reported them to PayPal. Today I asked her for an immediate refund. Had to call twice to get it done and threaten proceedings. Appalling company who are clearly not genuine. Do not use!I have now had a refund from PAyPal as a result of my complaint to them.

Attempted to buy one pan as a gift for £100, on the same day as the order was taken, I received an email saying "We have received your order – thank you.
However, we are unable to despatch it to you today.
We expect to be able to send it to you in 5 –10 working days."
It has been 16 days, no further messages from them, no sign of my order, no response to any emails I have sent them and now currently having to go through my bard company to get my money back. Complete scam and seriously disappointed as I thought they had a reputation.
