Great service and the only way to grab a bargain upgrade. My first booking with them the trip was cancelled and they refunded the tickets without any issues. Will use this as my main booking app from now on.

Having been a Trainline user for some…
Having been a Trainline user for some time, I decided to give Seatfrog a try. Everything was ok on first few purchases with the tickets being more or less the same price on both platforms. However, as travel plans can often change due to unforeseen circumstances, being able to reschedule or apply for a refund is an important element of the service. Not so with Seatfrog. If you ever try to apply for a refund, best find a comfortable seat as it’s not an easy process and certainly no where near as easy as buying their tickets! Too long-winded to go into here but suffice to say after 3-4 weeks of going backwards and forwards, I gave up and told them to cancel my request. Would I use them again - no never. Back to the trusted Trainline for me :)

Bought 2 return tickets for my wife and I to visit Glasgow, via the Avanti App, no problem, I remember hearing about Seatfrog, so thought I would see how much it would be to upgrade to first class,!!!!!
Ridiculous price, more expensive than just buying a first class ticket directly from Avanti.
I don't know how they sell any 'upgrades'.

Use another app instead
I've repeatedly tried to get a refund on tickets where I've been unable to travel for reasons outside of my control. Each time I fill in the forms sent to me by customer support and each time they're rejected for no reason.
I'm going around in circles with this company and I'm sick of it. I'm going to start using a different app as I'm being ripped off continuously. If a train is cancelled or I don't/can't use the tickets then I should get a refund. Shitfrog makes it so difficult to get your money back. In fact, I think it's harder to get a refund through these thieves than with Avanti which is quite a feat.

Slow response and not very helpful
After my phone was stolen I contacted them to try and get my Avanti Superfare ticket as it would have just gone to my email which I was no longer able to access (it also had 2 step verification setup so without the phone number I couldn't do anything). I eventually got a response from them and just when I thought I could give a sigh of relief I saw they send the ticket from my travel into London I a few times in my emails said it was the email out I needed. I followed up a few times but got no response. I then had to buy a very expensive ticket back defeating the purpose of buying the Superfare. Why do they not indicate their operating hours and when there is a sense of urgency from the customer why is the ticket not actioned. I dread to think what the refund process is going to be like.

Zero communication, entirely unintuitive.
Zero communication. No number, no email response, no way of contacting unless you use twitter. I would expect better from a company based on last minute auctions. Made a twitter account to contact them and they never replied aside from their generic “how can we help” and nothing more after explained how they could help. awful company, misleading and unintuitive system. Furthermore, the system itself is explained so poorly and the information shown on the app does not help you at all. Feels like the app has never been tested further than the devs themselves. Do not use if trying to travel as more than 1 person! Still haven’t heard anything from them and the journey I was trying to get assistance with (in advance) is already over.

Do not use their fraudulent app
Sold me a first class upgrade on a train that didn’t have a first class carriage nor any services. When I requested a refund they were quick to say that I didn’t fill out the form correctly and just closed my ticket! So I raised another ticket and lo and behold the quick response has now gone to radio silence. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone! Stay clear of this fraudulent website that offers you an upgrade but produces nothing!

Terrible Customer Service and Confusing App
Accidentally entered an auction without realising you need a ticket first then reluctantly bought the wrong advance single, and only realised it was the wrong one at the ticket barriers, told them as soon as I found out. Customer Service denied a refund and denied that their UI is confusing - it doesn't mention what you are buying during the auction buying process once.
I'm a full time software engineer - I understand how to navigate an app. Theirs is terrible.

Easy to book upgrade

Excellent Customer Service
I had purchased 3 Return tickets through Seatfrog which, following a bereavement, I am now unable to use. I notified Seatfrog and with impressive speed and compassion, they have arranged for these fares to be refunded to me in full, waiving the usual admin charge. This is proper customer service. Efficient, effective and human. Well done Ella V and the team at Seatfrog and thank you.

Excellent service and communication from Seat Frog
Recenlt bought the wrong ticket this morning for the wrong train, communicated with Seat Frog who were quick in their response and led to a very positive outcome, I was very impressed and will defininatley use them again based on my (albeit) limied experience.

over charged, mislead and unhelpful
over charged, billed for extra seats and not sat with my partner for travel.
Sadly i was mislead by this company who charged me for 3 tickets when there are 2 passengers. they also refused to refund the 3rd.
they sat me and my partner in opposite parts of the train when there were and are other seats available
customer service unhelpful and poor.

Thoroughly recommend Seatfrog, great experience to and from London and Edinburgh. Also bid for the wrong ticket and they were very helpful and would have fixed the situation, it I got outbid so it all worked out in the end. I will use again in the future and recommend the first class service. It’s so worth it 😊
