The team at Willoughby’s went above and beyond to make sure that my order was correct. I accidentally ordered the international model Canon 90D. They called and made me aware just in case I made a mistake. I did.

I was able to correct the order. They even gave me a faster performing SD card.

In a time where it seems customer service has gone out the window, Willoughby’s went above and beyond. I’ll keep coming back.

Very bad service!

We purchased a camera thru their website and the following day they called us to say the price was $2,000 dollars more because I am in US and the price they have listed belongs to European market. So should go to create a website in Euros for that market and be clear in your American website that prices are not real!! You can not play with your customers listing erroneus pricing!

Bait & Switch

We originally ordered a Canon 5D Mark IV Kit for $3,099. Willoughbys called us back and said we need the USA version for another $500. Our card was charged $3599, but we were shipped the $3099 non-USA version. I tried registering it through Canon USA, and it would not let me, confirming that we did not get what we paid for. I called Canon & confirmed, then called Willoughbys and spoke with the guy who said we need to upgrade. When I called out that we got charged for something that we didn't get, he said 'SO??!' and started yelling at me.

Bad people to work with

I purchased a lens from them online. It has been 10 days since my purchase and I have not heard from them. I tried calling and got transferred to the "shipping center" two times (which is a voicemail inbox). Now they wont answer my calls at all... I have not been rude to anyone, I would just like to know the status of my order and they wont talk to me. I have never been treated this way by a company before... I guess I will give them another 10 days to ship my lens before opening a case with my credit card company.

STAY FAR AWAY...BAIT AND SWITCH

Yep. They are scammers BIG TIME. I Used Fortiva to pay and they said with "financing" (through Fortiva) I can't get the international/grey item... So I gave him my CC for the difference. This is a TYPICAL bait and switch. That lowest price you see comes with about a $100-$200 dollar difference before you're through. I called back and said, "Im confused... You took a credit card for the difference, but the original "financing" is a CC... Why did you need a new CC?" He rambled about financing vs a credit card... I told him I have the Fortiva credit card in my hand... He stuttered some more before I said, "I see so, this is your scam. I just want to make sure Im getting my lens at this point." Worst company ever. I was so excited I had found this site with great prices... It really is true that you get what you pay for!

I would choose zero stars if possible. This company has a regular scam and unfortunately I was sucked into it. Same as the other reviewers- I was contacted by 'Jimmy' the day after I purchased a Nikon D850 online and told that I had purchased the 'International model' of the camera. They told me the camera would not work for my purposes if I planned on using it in the United States. I told Jimmy I wanted to cancel my order and take a look at the website to make sure I was buying the camera I needed. Cancellation would incur a fee, so he offered to switch the camera out for the US model for the difference (more than $600, or the same price the camera is being offered on every other website). Not wanting to pay the cancellation fee, I agreed to the upcharge. Once off the phone, I immediately realized that I had been scammed. NOWHERE in the ad was this noted as an international model (I had saved screen shots) and even if it had been, there would have been no functional difference for me (the menu on the international model is available in multiple languages....that's how it differs). I contacted the business by phone and email asking to cancel my order and to this date I have not heard ANYTHING back from the company. I'm working with consumer affairs in NYC and the state where I live. I've also reported the fraud to my bank for a refund and I'm contacting the Better Business Bureau for help resolving and warning others to avoid this company. Check the BBB website for more very similar complaints.
How is this scam allowed to continue? If anyone has advice for bringing down this company, I am all ears. I'm on this until I get my money back. I hope this warning helps other potential customers!

Rude manager

The prices are not right and the manager Jimmy is extremely rude. The warranty is mandatory and they do not inform in the website. I had the worst experience.

BAIT AND SWITCH BEWARE
Ordered Canon Camera a few days ago on-line for $1029.00. They (Ray) called me yesterday to "let me know" that the product I ordered for $1029.00 was the "international version" of the Canon EOS 90D not supported by Canon" and that an "American version for $1199 existed." He wanted to make sure that I knew what I was ordering and gave me the choice of ordering the American one, which I did, only because of what he had just told me. That cost me another $170.00. Nowhere on their website does it say this is an International version and that an American one exists. He also told me this purchase included a 3 year warrantee, not posted on website either. Was just told by B&H photo that yes there are two versions (which they do not sell, they are a licensed Canon dealer of only the US products, which I highly recommend, since I had always purchased through them in the past, but thought I was getting a better price with Willoughby's, so I ordered and have now cancelled with them) and because Canon doesn't warrantee the international version, the local dealers have to offer their own warrantee. Again, it wasn't mentioned on Willoughby's website. I have left a vm and sent an email to Willoughby's to cancel my order and requesting refund and am waiting to hear back from them. DO NOT TRUST THEM

This place is a SCAM

This place is a SCAM. Ordered a Z6 ii. Five days letter, I got an email "please call." I call. "Blablabla international version blablabla NO WARRANTY blanks FIRMWARE NOT UPDATABLE." ok, what's the price for US version? $400 above Nikon's MSRP. Why? It comes with a bag, a SD card... Ok... Canceled the order. SCAM. I trusted the 90% rating on Google Shopping, which is totally BS.

upselling scam?

Was lied to about some international camera crap. Wanted me to upgrade for an extra 100 bucks or so. Reading other reviews, I'm not the only one they are trying to scam. They tried running my card, got mad because I didnt transfer enough funds to finish the purchase, then cancelled my order and hung up on me while I was still trying to understand what was going on. I called back to speak to an adult but only got the answering machine. The person I was speaking too was acting like a child who didnt get his way. Very unprofessional. Never doing business with this joke of a place ever again.

Ordered a *new* Nikon D5600 and two *new* Nikkor lenses on 11/27. Received an email on 11/30 that they needed some information from me before they could proceed with the purchase. Customer service asked me politely if I had meant to order the international version of the Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX lens? No I hadn't! Would I like the USA version? The international lens will not work with my camera. Oh it happens to be ~$100 more. I fell for all of it, even after checking the website with no mention of an "international lens" option.

On 12/16 I emailed them, after multiple calls that rudely got redirected to voicemail if someone ever did answer, as the order status was still "sent to warehouse". In this email I noted I had ALREADY BEEN CHARGE IN FULL weeks prior. They did not call me back but finally sent the items which I received on 12/23, almost a whole month after ordering.

Camera body, advertised as new, came in just a plastic sleeve. The 35mm lens came in a plain white generic box, and feels a bit rough when you rotate the focus ring. The 18-200mm lens came in an actual Nikon box with a manual, but has a couple of dings on it. Took me a couple days to realize the camera's flash was COMPLETELY INOPERABLE. After more ignored calls, after asking via email if the camera was even new, I finally received an email telling me I would need to pay to ship the camera body back and they would inspect it for me (no confirmation that the camera was new). I was not happy and told them I would like a call from customer service. Finally got to speak to a "polite" person again a couple days later who at least provided a prepaid shipping label, but I still had to ship the camera back first before receiving a replacement.

I see from the shipping info they received the camera on January 9th and informed them via email to give me a tracking number for the replacement. No response. Called today, was rudely cut of and transferred to the "right department" (they've used this before to send me to voicemail) even though I called the customer service ext 6018 they contacted me on previously. Went to voicemail of course. Called 6018 back immediately multiple times. Ignored. Finally had the sense to check reviews, and I am floored seeing that they do this to everybody who orders from them (international version scam, grey market products advertised as new). How are they still in business?! I informed them via email that they have 24 hours to refund my money for the camera or I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

----UPDATE----

After asking for a refund and letting them know I planned to file a complaint, rather than call or message me back, they immediately created a shipping label and then shipped what I can assume is another used camera later this day. So they are not only refusing my refund, but actively trying to make it difficult for me to obtain one. Really classy. Luckily BofA will be taking care of this one.

Best prices online until you order and they call you saying you ordered an international version and you need to pay an extra couple hundred dollars for the US model. No mention on their website of any international models. Seems to happen to a lot of others so this is definitely planned. Scammers.

Scammers!!

Scammers!!! Trid to steal $919.00 for a camera they claimed to ship but never did. When I called asking for shipping tracking info they hung up on me back to back!! I filed a claim with paypal and paypal resolved the claim in my favor. Do not buy from here. JIMMY IS THE WORST "MANAGER" IVE EVER SPOKEN TO/BEEN HUNG UP ON BY. EFF U JIMMY!!!

Bad costumer service

Bad costumer service. I recently purchased a camera and they sold me the article as new. Instead what I get was an open box with missing parts. I ordered a Sony a6600 ( body only) and what they did they out of a kit lens combo they took out the lens and send me the rest. On top of that the flash cap was missing. Very unprofessional and rude. Don’t do business with this people 😡

Went in looking for rifle scopes Nikon…

Went in looking for rifle scopes Nikon ProStaff 3-9X40 for my AR, they didn't have the many brands compatible with my weapon, guy told me he would order them and should have them the next day. Came back the next day was told the truck hasn't came in yet. Came in the next day and was told they didn't get ordered. Needed them for the weekend, ended up finding some @ 42nd Photo. Store was nice, dude in there seemed cool, just wish he would of told me they weren't going to order them.

First experience with this company…

First experience with this company while visiting NYC, and I must say the hypocrisy of a few employees were utterly unbecoming - the glassed, old woman even took the liberty of mutilating my photo as I exited the store. She prohibited her fellow colleagues to not “mess with him”, and went further with her unprofessionalism by using profanity because I asked for a receipt with my purchase. However, (2) Stars because I was assisted very well by another lady, and an older gentleman; the stars are for those two. I do appreciate the folks that kept their exemplary patience by making sure I left with my questions answered. I hope this helps future patrons because Willoughby’s Camera needs to acknowledge that a few of their employees are highly passive aggressive, and needs to absolve such behavior.

Willoughby's used to be a reputable and credible operation, that is no longer the case. Their customer support is non-existent, they lie repeatedly, show items "In Stock" when in fact they are not, they unilaterally cancel orders that have been placed & pd for, no response to emails about likely ship date, etc...

Avoid these frauds like the plague, 1 star is 1 star waaaay too many!

By far the worst camera supplier I have ever dealt with. They repeatedly lie to their customers and are extremely rude over the phone. After promising to ship my lens for two weeks, they finally told me it was stolen which is a lie. I would highly recommend you buy your equipment anywhere else.
