I’m extremely disappointed with both the quality of the floor fitting and the way Wilson’s have handled our complaint.

From the start, the fitters did not appear to know what they were doing. What should have been a straightforward installation ended up taking two extra days beyond what we were originally told, with little confidence shown throughout the job. Even while they were working, it was obvious they were struggling and improvising rather than fitting the floor properly.

The finished result is completely unacceptable. There are poorly cut edges around door frames, visible gaps, exposed metal fittings, damaged threshold strips, rough unfinished cuts, loose trim/beading, and obvious damage to surrounding areas. Some of the cuts are so poor they’ve left large visible gaps and exposed fixings. This is supposedly professional flooring installation, but the workmanship says otherwise.

The photos speak for themselves — this is the standard of work Wilson’s are happy to leave customers with.

To make matters worse, after raising a complaint we were promised a callback today, which never came. When my wife chased them, she was simply fobbed off and told they “hadn’t received the complaint,” despite the issue already being reported.

The most disappointing part is not just the poor workmanship, but the complete lack of accountability afterwards. Once payment is taken, customer service seems to disappear.

We paid for professional fitting and received a rushed, careless job that now needs correcting. I would strongly advise anyone considering Wilson’s to think very carefully before using them.

I recently purchased a carpet remnant from this store and was very pleased with the service I received. The staff were friendly, helpful and took the time to discuss my requirements without any pressure. The carpet was excellent value and the whole experience was straightforward and professional. I was particularly impressed by the helpfulness and flexibility shown by the team in helping me get my purchase home. I would happily recommend them to others.

We had the most atrocious time with this company, on the day the carpet got fitted, they delivered the wrong one and admitted that 3 carpets, including our own were missing. They then took 6 hours to return to our home to fit the carpet and decided to fit the incorrect door plate under the carpet so this was not visible and looked awful. We contacted Wilson’s back straight away with evidence of this, and after being passed around several team members we spoke to the manager who said they have not caused us any convenience due to them fitting the carpet on the same day this got lost to which I strongly disagreed as we had to book annual leave to which we wasted the whole day! They then arranged for the same carpet fitter to correct their awful job at fitting the door plate to attend our home again to re fit this correctly. The fitter bashed on our front door and bay window to alert us he had arrived, then had an awful attitude and an argument with my partner and said he thinks our complaint was uncalled for and he is the best carpet fitter this company has. They then proceeded to say they did not correct this the first time due to carpet glue on the connecting carpet and we should have had carpet glue remover on hand, even though that’s what we are paying them for. We removed none of the glue when they came back and miraculously they managed to then fit the door plate correctly. We made a formal complaint about the entire incident over 28 days ago and the manager at the Rotherham branch stated she could not give us a time frame for when they will respond to our complaint, which is absolute bs, and we have still not received a response. Do not use these cowboys

Went in for a stairs carpet after visiting a few other places. Staff here were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, we had soon picked a lovely carpet and arranged for a measure and quote for a few days later, the quote was competitive and we accepted immediately and soon had a lovely new stairs carpet fitted.

I would definitely recommend anyone to use Wilsons they have a great range of products to choose from and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable.

The two gentlemen who fitted our hall/landing/stair carpet and bathroom flooring were very nice — they did a wonderful job, worked hard and efficiently, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work. They even made friends with our cat who's very shy. Pricing was competitive and communications were good. The bathroom flooring looks like it was laser-cut and we love the new carpet smell. We're both really happy with the result and would definitely recommend to friends.

very helpful from sale to fitting we use this company regularly and would recommend the only thing which would improve the service is for the fitters to take away leftovers but other than that we find them very good value with good service
