I have recently bought 2 caravans from Yorkshire Caravans, one in December 2025 and a second in May 2026.

First caravans;
Johnny was very helpful during the sale, we went around multiple caravans and eventually found a 2018 Swift Elite 580 at a good price. It sadly goes downhill from there.
On the day of collection, I was called regarding the superguard being added to my van. The issue was I never wanted superguard. Even though it was not on my invoice I has still been charged for this. Luckily they hadn't applied it yet so was refunded this during the collection process.
After collecting, there was a few snags with the caravan which it went back in to them. The caravan sat for 4 weeks at Yorkshire caravans before I had to go and pick it up due to a booked holiday. During that time it was impossible to reach aftercare by phone, even when going through the main reception. When I collected the van I was told they couldn't tell me what was done and what was not done due the an engineer going off sick. I had to take the caravan away and let them know what else needed doing...
The second time the caravan went into Yorkshire caravans, we went to look at caravans while we were there which leads onto part 2.

Second caravan;
We saw a Swift Eccles 650 online but couldn't find it when looking around, we got passed around to Pete who took us to the woods to look at it.
We liked it, liked the price but wanted to have a better look at it. We sat for quite a while until they brought it down to the sales pitch. We agreed a price and after the previous issues with the caravan we went around everything and noted down any snags I had with this. Also our caravan had been dropped off to aftercare so we noted down everything we needed from that.
All seemed to go well until the day before collection Pete rang and said the new caravan had a cracked pano roof. He said it had been taped and a new one would arrived in 2-3 weeks.
Given we had booked holidays we said that's fine and said we would still come and collect.
On the day of collection I arrived slightly early for my time slot, but then, 50 minutes after my time slot I was still sat waiting to see the caravan. Pete was busy and barely spoke, when doing the paperwork he rushed through as quick as possible.
I eventually got to see the caravan and noticed that lots of things were missing from my old caravan (battery, gas pig tail, wheel lock nut and caravan site plaques). There was also issues with the cleanliness of the caravan and some bits had not been done we agreed on.
During the first trip away we found out the toilet was not working (on a rally field too...) which after I insisted I needed to speak to a YC engineer, they could not help over the phone. So our first trip away was without a proper working toilet in an unclean van.

Carpets;
During the sale we also agreed on some new carpets from Kustom sport. I have used the company before so know how the process works for ordering them, once Pete had ordered the carpets I spoke to Kustom Sports so I could collect them quicker, once collected i realised Pete had not checked the plans and the carets didn't fit around the door mat. After emailing both Kustom Sport and Pete, the carpets were amended to suit the door mat. During all this Pete new called or emailed myself, I assume he spoke to Kustom Sport?

Aftercare;
After trying to book the pano window and a few other bits, I was told the pano roof would take longer than the 2-3 week Pete quoted. 2-3 months later I have just had the window fitted and hopefully this one lasts longer. Nicola has been very helpful in aftercare this time and kept me up to date with everything.
I still have issues with the caravan sadly after all this, after being with YC for almost 2 week, the caravan is returned to me mucky and with a few snags still outstanding...

Summary;
- Johnny very nice and helpful
- Pete is too busy to be a salesman, not very good at communication
- Nicola is excellent and has made these very stressful experiences slightly better
- Workshop team, lacked in care and quality, some snags shouldn't have ever been issues
- Management - no one ever contacts you. I have emailed the complaints dept, and never had a response.
- The site, the handover bays, service pick up and drop off as well as deliveries are all down one narrow side road. It is chaos. Yorkshire caravans has grown too big but management and infrastructure is still lacking massively.

I wouldn't choose to buy from YC again sadly even though both my parents an grandparents have used them over the years. I'm also still missing my site plaques from a van I P/X with them :(

We recently had a problem with our toilet flush in the caravan which is only 14 months old. When we reported this on our return it was booked in for warranty repair and was sorted out and fixed within a week.
With how busy their workshop is this time of year I think that was good going 👍🏻

Being new to caravan ownership, I managed to damage the hitch cover on our Swift Challenger 510, I was gutted and antisipated difficulty getting a replacement. I went online and saw Y.C & M, had one for sale on ebay, I ordered it and it arrived very quickly 24hrs.

It looks treat now its fitted to our caravan.

Steve contacted me when I was selling my motorhome. He made a reasonable offer. After a short call and some exchange of info we agreed a time for someone to check and pick up the van. Ian was very professional did the checks courteously and then took it away. The whole process took less than 2weeks and the price paid was what we agreed.

I phoned their accessories shop yesterday to enquire about a portable Aircon unit for my touring caravan. I spoke to a lady called Amanda who told me they had run out of stock on the brand I wanted, but she came up with an alternative for me. Promising next day delivery and it, I bought it. And less than 24hrs later, the unit has been delivered.
I think she went above and beyond and we are really grateful to her, thankyou.
