No vayáis nunca a hoteles Barceló, especialmente al Illetas Albatros, si sóis fumadores, porque entra una camarera por error y basta que diga que huele a humo y te clavan 150 euros de multa, sólo con su palabra. HORROR.
Terrible experience and amenities not as advertised. A beach hotel with no beach…
We recently stayed at Bareclo Playa Blanca and it was awful and the hotel is not as advertised so very expensive for what is actually offered. More like a 2 star
There is no beach as claimed and access to the marina is blocked due to construction and unlikely to be opened for months. The hotel needs a lot of snagging and should not have opened as it is not ready. The perimeter is a building site. To access the marina you have to walk around the hotel along a busy road and it takes about 20 mins. Not the 3 as advertised.
The swim up pool is a paddling pool so misleading to call it swim up. Half of the restaurants are closed as is one of the snack bars and the beauty spa. The hotel is dirty especially the buffet restaurant and pool bar as the staff never clear the dirty plates and glasses etc. The food is disgusting so do not waste money on half board or all inclusive. It is the same food lunch and dinner and the hot food is stone cold. They also did not cook the food properly nor clean the prawns. We ended up eating out every night even though we were all inclusive.
There is meant to be water soft drinks and beers in the rooms if you are all inclusive but they did not provide these and it was a daily fight to get water. They did not clean the rooms every day and seem to get upset if you complained. Overall it is terrible. They ran out of sparkling water the second day we were there and other drinks so the choice was limited. The wine was awful
The staff are mostly miserable probably because staffing levels were too low for the number of guests. The management is non existent and everyone was complaining and the staff and management did nothing to assist people or ensure things changed. They just avoid you and do not come back as promised. Since getting back I complained via bookings.com and the hotel ignored them just as they have me. So it is very hard to get redress or compensation so do yourself a favour avoid it like the plague !

Bueno , el pasado día 18 de noviembre llegamos a este “hotel”. Nos asignan habitación 1267 creo recordar . Con las mismas según subimos (con ascensores rotos ) entramos y desastre total . Abro un cajón me quedé con él en la mano , bañera oxidada. Nos bajamos y solicité cambio inmediato . Nos dieron un bungaló 3209 al lado de arenas blancas. Puffff goteras sin bombillas cerraduras rotas . Ya dijimos que sea lo que dios quiera y vamos a decir en recepción. Caso omiso . Instalaciones muy muy deficientes. No aconsejo para nada que vaya allí nadie . Comidas repetitivas yo volví a España con una gastroenteritis severa , habiendo perdido 4k . Barcelo nunca más
Waste of Money
We stayed at Barcelo Margaritas in Gran Canaria, hotel, rooms & pool were good but the food very poor, it was very bland and always cold, despite complaining it did not improve for the 7 nights we were there, we always upgraded our holiday to the "Royal Level" a complete waste of money, we will not be returning

Hemos estado la semana del 19 al 26 de febrero en el Hotel Barceló Punta Umbria y lo mejor que hemos encontrado es el personal todos muy amables la comida se ve que compran lo peor del mercado la cocina muy mala y la fruta de la peor calidad,no pensamos volver a un Hotel de la cadena Barceló por la calidad de comida tan mala que tienen.

I have stayed three nights at the Barcelo Hamilton Hotel in Es Castell (Menorca). This is a supposedly a luxury hotel (and the prices really are) but only allows you to use the Wi-Fi hotel if you accept receiving advertising in your email and only have ONE copy of a national newspaper at the reception hall. Is this the concept that has Barcelo of a luxury hotel?

Would not recommend this property
My husband and I stood at the Iberostar Ixatapa this year. we told our room would be ocean view but when we checked in they said we needed to pay an additional $299 for an ocean view room. We did not dish out the additional funds for the Ocean view so our room was at the end of the and above the disco, which was open until 3 AM. Nothing like trying to sleep with the loud banging of music coming from below our room. We did ask for a different room and was told by the unfriendly front desk employees that the hotel was booked and they could not accommodate my request. There is always a block of rooms set aside for last minute guest or an emergency. Iberstar is a beautiful city but I would not say the same about the hotel.

Barcelo Teguise Beech hotel Resort (Adults only)
What a relaxing fantastic stay! The hotel is modern clean and funky. The junior suite we had was lovely. Just as the website demonstrates with their video. We had a room over looking the sea front. It was amazing to read a book on the balcony beside the hot tub, and hear the sea crashes against the rocks.
Champs sports bar food is cooked to order. The quality of the food is excellent, fresh and hot. I highly recommend the burgers and fish n chips. Simply delicious!
The breeze bar is light and airy and over looks the terrace along with the infinity pool. Lighter foods are served in here and again cooked to order. Both this and the sports bar have waiter service.
The main restaurant serves a hot and cold buffet, what's lovely about this is you can choose when and what to eat. The waiters do serve drinks at your table and clear your plates away in between courses.
The hotel bar is modern and funky. It has relaxing mood lighting and modern seating which is very comfy.
After checking out on our last day, we had a few hours to kill and decided to take lunch in Champs sports bar, as previous meals had been delightful. The waiter recognised we'd been on an all inclusive package so allowed us to eat and drink free, even though we'd just checked out. He said that's what we do, to make sure our guests leave happy and relaxed!
How refreshing! Well done guys you've really impressed us. We'll be back again soon. 👍
The worst experience!
This was our experience in Barcelo Teguise Beach.
We had booked 11 nights in a junior suite and we paid 1630 euro.
The room: was a junior suite but no walls between siting room and bedroom, bathroom is in the same room with the bedroom(no privacy, you can see the sink from the bed and you can hear anything going on in the toilet, embarrassing, we had to use the bathroom from the lobby ), the minibar has never been refiled, the room is not very clean and has a lot of damages, the sliding door from the dress-room is not working properly, missing the seal from the toilet door.
The Jacuzzi is useless just few bubbles and when we started it ,it came out a lot of rust, the Jacuzzi was not clean until the third day when we decide to use it again and we head to call the reception to tell the house keeping to clean it, the second time come out rust from the pipes, the next day when we try to use it the water was cold and try the shower the same thing (one day no hot water).
The safe box: the procedure is that you need to go to reception to give them 10 euro and then to pay 3 euro every day you use it ( we head to call them to tell us this and we head to go at reception to give them 10 euro deposit to give us the key for safe deposit box )
Reception: At check in the girl had very poor English and told us that we have to pay straight away for the room( I don't understand why I should go thru all that hustle when they have our credit card details ) .
We called at the reception to ask for a hitter, the answer that the receptionist gave us was that they don't have something like that on this island (after we complained, we got the hitter in to the room). After that we asked if they have available adapter from UK to Europe and she did not said anything (after 2 days got one in to the room).One day we have been at the swimming pool we asked the girl who was there in charge with the swimming pool for a towel, she put her shoulders up and said that she does not have, I went to reception ask for one and one of the girls from behind desk she make a "smart" comment like -(why you don't take one from your room)
We have asked the reception from the second day in here to change our room because we are not happy with the one that we got and the receptionist girl said that they do not have any available rooms for the moment and I asked to change it as soon as they have any other room.Even until now we did not got another room or at least an answer if they will change it or not.
The bar:
There are 3 bars.
In the first night we have been in the bar next to the reception had 2 drinks(10 euro a long drink) , we asked for the bill and if possible to get an ice bucket for the room, they gave us with no problems, second day I went to the pool bar and asked for a bucket of ice and there was a waiter with a very rude attitude that told me that that is not possible, I told him that I got before and I don't understand what was the problem. He said in a rude manner that his boss said no ice will be served to the customers for the rooms, I showed him a water jug ask him to fill it for me with ice and to stop argue with me, and he did give me the ice and then he said something which I did not understand, maybe he said it in Spanish (big guy, the manager said his name is Javier) .
In the evening I asked for ice in the bar next to the reception were was the same rude waiter which he talked in Spanish with a manager in rude manner and gossiping about us in front of my fiancee(he did not knew that she speak Spanish).
After this the Manager Santos came and start talking in condescending manner that he will not give us ice in to the room(his explanation was that I will bring drink from outside and drink it in the room) , of course I took drinks in to the room/balcony, I'm in holidays) .
After we argued about his attitude and rules he told me that he is gone give me ice if I give him 5 euro and when I asked to see if there is anywhere where it says I have to pay for ice he didn't say anything, I would pay for ice with no problems as long as I would have been told from the beginning and if he could show me that is written somewhere ( I could not believe it, I went to spar got big bag of ice for 1.50) .
In to the sport bar was a guy I think he was polishing cutlery in a very aggressive way making a lot of noise, another night even if is a hotel where are aloud only adults there was a kid(photo to prove).
We tried to play pool and the 2 tables did not work for 2 night(2 euro for a game)
Restaurant:
Breakfast: the food not bad but nothing special, every day the same things, we got tea always very late and we head to ask all the time( staff busy setting the tables very loudly and not paying attention to costumers).
Most of the time I had to go to get the tea on my own because staff could not understood peppermint tea. All the time I had to look for paper napkins( one time I got the napkins which I think was for dinner and I got a very bad look from the waiter).
Dinner: most of the time nobody was there to welcome you and even if it was they are not saying anything.We got inside the restaurant, we need to find a table by my self( no hostess). It's a buffet style dinner, every night almost the same food(not bad just nothing special).
Sometime we got asked if we want something to drink some time we had to find a waiter.NEVER BEEN ASK "DO YOU NEED ANYTHING ELSE?" One evening at the dinner we asked for a tea and we have been told NO, I asked what was the reason and I have been told that they don't serve coffee or tea at dinner because they want us out of there as soon is possible because they don't have enough seats(No coffee or tea available at dinner with your desert not even on request), I got the tea in the end but only after we called the manager.
Staff: Most of them don't speak English or they don't want ,because I spoke in English and almost all the time and I got answers in Spanish. Very rude attitude at most of them and not focus on customer.
Trato exquisito
No soy mucho de hoteles pero la experiencia que tengo con Barceló es muy buena. Nos casamos en Málaga en el mes de mayo y cogimos una habitación normal, cual fue mi sorpresa que cuando llegamos nos dieron la mejor suite por el mismo precio. El servicio fue extraordinario. Sin duda si tuviera que ir a algún hotel y el dinero me lo permite eligiría el hotel Barcelo.
