The rep actually found the part somewhere and sent it to me quickly..for free because I was at my it's end and the Breville rep wanted to help me.
This was after I had waited for months to hear from two other companies.
I called the others back and my money was returned.

What made my experience with Breville was the amazing, helpful and prompt service I received from Scott Gregory. He was very knowledgeable and quickly determined what the problem was and arranged a quick replacement. He then went the extra mile with a few problems I was having and helped me solve them. Awesome
Atrocious customer service and product quality Barista Pro Coffee machiene
8.12.25 - Purchased coffee machine Breville BES878 Barista Pro from JBHIFI, ($949)
25.12.25 - Opened the box (XMAS present) The casing was all smashed and cracked trimmings.
27/12/2025 - Returned the damaged goods to JBHIFI for replacement (Solvup case).
27/12/25- new Coffee machine provided by JBHIFI.
Used the coffee machine from 27/12/25 to 28/4/26 persevering with the below issues.
The portafilter wouldn't lock into the group head and took force to lock it in which would move the whole machine to the right (tight group head seals).
The steamer/ water control value would become stiff and ridged during use rendering it impossible to use and not fit for purpose.
Followed the trouble shooting on the Breville website following the advice as the seals would loosen with use.
28/4/26 - returned the Coffee machine to JBHIFI another solvup case initiated.
Fault replicated in store by store manager (JBHIFI).
28/4/26 - contacted Breville support via phone explained the ongoing issues with now two different machines. Breville declined replacement despite the situation and wouldn't consider providing replacement authority. Advise would have the machine repaired.
28/4/26 Coffee machine sent off for repair its now 22/5/26 and after 3 phone calls to the repair company in Balwyn, the machine is still being looked at.
Simply not good enough and will consider other branded white goods in the future.
issues:
Purchased expensive machine finding that two were not fit for purpose and faulty.
Poor customer support and empathy given this was the second machine that was faulty and returned to the place of purchase.
Consumer left with a coffee machine whilst repairs take place.
Solution : full refund should have been offered or exchange for an effective product.

I had a very simple replacement parts…
I had a very simple replacement parts question: what is the part number for the flat washer for the lower burr assembly of my Barista Express BES870XL/A machine. The rep wanted my shipping address, phone number, serial number, sub-model number, etc., which is all TOTALLY unnecessary to look up a part # in a shop manual.
While I did receive a response to the part number question above, the issue with the rep and the ridiculous questions was not addressed.
