I signed up for the ODE Cashback Card through the Discounts for Teachers website, which advertises the card as free. However, this turned out to be completely misleading.
During the sign-up process, I was hit with multiple hidden charges that were not made clear upfront:
£4.99 delivery fee for the physical card
£5 minimum top-up required just to activate the card
Then, after signing up, they claimed there was a problem processing my application and demanded an extra £5 “verification” fee for proof of ID and address.
And there's an annual fee of £2.99 after 1st year
Altogether, what was promoted as a “free cashback card” quickly turned into a series of unexpected charges. To make things worse, customer service was poor and unhelpful, offering no clear explanation or accountability.
I feel this is false advertising and dishonest practice, and I’ve requested a full refund and cancellation. Others should be aware before signing up — the ODE Cashback Card is not free, and the experience so far has been frustrating, misleading, and disappointing

The Ode discount card for carers is fantastic! I've received over £150 in the last year. Easy to apply and send proof of carers allowance or care jobs. Staff are extremely helpful if you need to call them. 10 out of 10!

I had a Pluxee card and then another company offered me a different card. I had some trouble initially but when I phoned customer services they understood the problem and resolved it very quickly. It was really great not to encounter any AI bots, I got straight through to them.

I love my ode card. I use it mainly for my food shop but have made some larger purchases from John Lewis and ikea with it. Disappointed that M&S cashback has disappeared though. Is this likely to come back?

It is a great experience using the PLUXEE CARD- its simple, reliable, & makes everyday transaction smooth and hassle free. the plate-form is very user-friendly and I appreciate how convenient it is to manage everything in one place.

Offers are far worse than other benefit platforms, just checked and even one I was using has been removed. Also the whole experience is very clunky. Even small things like credit card save and checkout are not working well.
