UAVHUB is simply incredible!

The course for the A2 C of C is well structured and makes learning a fun experience. The videos are short and concise. You learn with visual references and interesting stories from Matt and his experience of flying for the Airforce.

When you complete the course you can take Mock exams and then book your invigilated exam at any time that suits you. Thank you technology!

The best part is that you're part of an ever growing community of pilots and have access to recourses Matt and his team put together.

I highly recommend UAVHUB and will be back to learn more. Thank you.

Incredible Customer Service

Gabi is simply amazing! When I placed my order and realised I needed different sizes she helped me sort it out even though I missed the official cut-off time.

Then my order went missing and she acted fast and issued a refund for which I am extremely grateful for. All just before leaving London to fly home for Christmas.

Gabi and the team at Barekind are incredible and I can't thank them enough.

Euan and the Europcar Glasgow Gangsters

Glasgow airport, Europcar and Euan the grinning con artist.

What did we rent?
My mom and I rented a Fiat 500 via a trusted German website costing us exactly EUR 175. Insurance and everything is covered by the broker. We just wanted to pick up our rental.

What happened?
At the Europcar counter we were greeted by Euan (or Ewan). He seemed like one chirpy Scotsman. To our delight he upgraded us "free of charge". What an amazing guy! We couldn't believe our luck. He said, "you definitely need something bigger where you are headed and I have just the car".

There was no mention of additional costs whatsoever.
Who wouldn't like a free upgrade when they're headed into the Scottish outback?

Some papers were elegantly shuffled around, we were told to sign here, here and here. After that we had to pop our card into the machine for the deposit and it was a done deal. Only it wasn't.

The trickery and the damage.
The upgrade was not free of charge and the additional cost of the rental was £171.86 or EUR 205. EXTRA! That's more than the initial rental booking. Both numbers look extremely similar by the way. When we inserted our card for the deposit, we in fact paid for the upgrade. That was NEVER mentioned to us. We also never paid for a deposit, which is utterly bizarre. The kicker is that we didn't receive an end of rental statement either. Also, the charge for the upgrade was not taken out until 2 weeks after the rental (06/11/24). So even if we had paid with Monzo, which shows charges instantly we would not have realised it then and there at the counter.

Of course we signed the papers and that's enough for Europcar. Why would they care? Their golden boy Euan is ripping off people by the planeloads making the rental car company a F-ton of extra money. Unfortunately our broker nor our bank couldn't help, but that's not the end of it. A quick Google search reveals that this isn't Euan's first con nor that Europcar will ever see the promised land.

BEWARE: Euan is a smirking bastard who is out to get you. Be it extra insurance you don't need or "free" upgrades.

PLEASE read what you sign.

FURTHER ACTION will be taken via BVRLA.

If you read this and were scammed as well please take action. Do not let them get away with this. We will create a case and if necessary hire a lawyer collectively. Please get in touch.

Item Damaged and Compensated

I have to give Fat Llama and their team a massive thank you. My ProFoto B10 was damaged by a renter who denied any wrongdoing.

Fat Llama paid for all the repairs and was very patient. The entire process of having it repaired due to sourcing parts from abroad took over a month.

This experience has restored my trust in lender protection and putting up expensive equipment for rent.

One thing to note, it took some time to initially hear back from Fat Llama about the damage when it happened. That is one point to improve upon. It was about a week until Fat Llama responded and I had a damaged light I couldn't use.

Poor Quality & Not genuine

What seemed on the surface like a company that supports local communities by buying their handmade products slowly materialised as a for-profit operation.

It should have been clear when you browse the website and spot too many 2 for 1 deals.

The first issue is that shipping takes ages. From paying for your order it takes 5 business days to ship the product and then another week for it to arrive in the UK. The bracelet I ordered came apart after a month of wearing and does not seem like a quality product.

Furthermore, returning the product is a real hassle. You pay for the return which is about £15 with Evri to China. Then you have to take initiative to ask customer service for a refund even though they received the return a month ago. On top of that the company wanted to deduct £2.99 for return shipping.

I do not believe the companies' story nor that anything else is genuine about this store. Avoid and visit Tibet instead.

Best deal on the net

After shopping around online for the best deal, Macback offered the most for my "old" MacBook Pro from 2018. You barely get much for well kept Apple products anyway.

The collection with DPD was straightforward and a couple days later I received an amended quote. My battery cycle count limit exceeded 500 in order to qualify for a grade B item. Nevertheless my quote was only reduced by £30.

Communication was good and I would use Macback again.

Unprofessional in every which way

My experience with Davies was taxing and complicated. I didn't realise I had to deal with Davies as Ripe Insurance never mentioned the firm.

At the time of reporting the claim, I dealt with a rude representative of the firm, who didn't want to consider our case. After much unnecessary arguing she conceded.

The claim took months to be eventually evaluated.
For whatever reason Davies has difficulties receiving email attachments. The same ones had to be sent multiple times over.

The final compensation was then calculated incorrectly. Hadn't I questioned their maths I would have ended up almost 3K short. I cannot say that Davies is professional nor a firm I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.

Avoid Davies and save yourself a headache.

Insurance Paid Reluctantly

Ripe Insurance deals as a middle man employing the legal incompetences of Davies. My experience with a theft claim, which eventually was paid was one arduous process. First Davies wanted to dismiss the case right off the bat, then it took months of correspondences until the claim was calculated incorrectly. Thankfully it was paid. I cannot recommend Ripe as it only makes sense to get quality insurance directly from a more trusted firm. Pay more if necessary and with it peace of mind.

The Shaw Academy Horror Story

I’ll cut right to the chase here. Shaw Academy is a right shambles.

I signed up, didn’t enjoy the course and attempted to cancel within the first week. It’s always a bad sign when you have to call to terminate your membership. As expected customer support was selling me on some extra content material to stick with the course.

After terminating my membership via email and receiving a confirmation from team member (Name had to be censored), I believed the case was closed.

Three weeks later I was charged £49.99. Shaw Academy admitted their error and launched an internal investigation.

However I have still not seen a refund, nor have I heard back from team member Name had to be censored).

SA is more trouble than it’s worth. Youtube and individual artists are still the best choice. Avoid at all cost!

Disgracefully Horrific

Please do not support this company. They do not deserve your business. Inflexible, slow, incompetent and unfriendly are the keywords here.

My order of two made to measure perspex sheets arrived late in addition to one of the sheets being cut incorrectly. Forget email correspondence. Either they don't get in touch with you or days later. If you have a deadline take your business elsewhere.

Customer service appears to be operated by one member of staff, who after dealing with all the other complaints is one unfriendly human being to talk to. Also, getting through to said customer service is like winning in the lottery. In order to get a replacement sheet you have to send photos of the sheet with a tape measure. Wasting even more of your time.

Currently I am still awaiting a response to whether the replacement sheet has been posted or what on earth this company is doing. In total I have squandered over three weeks already for two perspex sheets.

Unworthy of its Namesake

Hermes delivery drivers usually dump my parcels in the alley I live next to, throw it over the gate or when the gate is unlocked leave it inside the gate. Neither of the three are safe places and the parcel usually gets lost because I live above an Italian restaurant with high staff turnover. Moreover, the Hermes drivers then sign for the parcels themselves. Avoid Hermes at all cost.
