Very early days and still learning how to use the app. The help I've received so far has been useful and the Amber team have walked me through and been very responsive to my questions.

Amber was recommended by our solar installer and I’m happy to report they are living up to their great reputation. I like having control over the power settings and the app is wasy to use and understand.

I’ve only just switched, and support has been first class and fast! All questions have been answered quickly and to my satisfaction so far.
Change over was super easy, and the transparent billing is great.
I’m telling my friends to look at Amber.

We have had a fantastic experience with Amber Electric. We were originally recommended to join them by the team who installed our solar panels, as they offered some of the most competitive rates. Since joining, we have found them incredibly easy to communicate with, and our electricity bills have consistently been reasonable. Most importantly, we feel genuinely looked after as customers and confident that we are receiving fair and transparent pricing. We would happily recommend Amber Electric to others.

Had a request to remove my system from vpp as I wanted to use Home Assistant instead of Smartshift.

Was very surprised that the email response and action all happened within 24 hrs.

Amber’s App and response times are all excellent, happy to recommend them.

The app was easy to use and to control the flow of power from buying and selling. Very happy that I was able to access wholesale prices on electricity when needed, will use Amber again on another property but will have more battery storage.

I wanted to save the most I could on my electricity costs and Amber made the process easy with an easy to understand process. I don’t really need to work anything out by myself I can just trust that my equipment is doing the best for me.

I have been a customer of Amber for 3 months so far and on the few occasions I have needed assistance, they have been quick with their reply and ready to address my needs. I have found their support team to be courteous, professional and knowledgeable.

I put in a question on Sunday night and had an answer Monday I then had another question which I again put in and again I had an answer the next day
I delt with Keira and was very surprised how quickly the reply came back

I have been with Amber for several years. I started when i installed solar panels and later installed a battery. The first year was great i made a profit of a few hundred dollars. My bills for the past 3 months have totalled $516.28, despite a pensioner concession.
They now want me to pay 2.7% more to use more green energy. Despite my huge investment in panels and battery (full cost, pre subsidy) I am looking for a new provider. Also their customer service is almost nonexistent. There is zero personal service. Sometimes an email enquiry takes a month to get a response. Their chatbots just refer you to FAQ pages!
Their charges are not transparent, and I suspect not the direct wholesale prices they claim.
Plus they charge an ever increasing "membership fee" of $25 per Month, which they claim is their only profit

Upgraded my battery and got the impression Smartshift was not working properly. After a couple of sessions with Amber support staff, with a helpful graph, I got a better understanding of things and all was sorted.

I hope there is -5 star to rate these thieves, they are advertising themselves as people who will save you money, in fact I paid even more than I used to be with them, WARNING to all who are trying to save money, save your money and stay away from these lairs.
I lasted 3 months with them, I have a 6.6kwh solar system plus 42khw battery....

I don’t usually give such glowing reviews, but so far I am a massive Amber fan and am telling anyone who will listen.

I've been with Amber since October 2025, a relatively newcomer. So far Amber has been OK. I admire their transparency. They are an honest no-frills, real solution energy provider, and I'm looking forward to reaping more energy savings, that I would have never received with all my previous energy retailers.

I have Solar, batteries and an EV. Amber has been a very expensive disaster. They charged 3x what I’m now paying on my AGL plan. Aside from cost, their app and their admin & support are amateur level. They are not a serious commercial enterprise.

We are very happy with Amber and their business model. We have been able to use their notifications of when "THE GRID IS GREEN" and buy and use cheap power. It has worked so well for us that we have got our usage cost down to a fraction of what we were paying before
