The scam a part of my funds.

The scam a part of my funds.

They activate a auto refill i didnt did, so when the server goes under xxx$ they refill xxx$, what they dont tell you is they won't refund and amount after 30 days of the refill but wait.

Also, they don't do a partial refund!!!, so in you recharge 1000$, and you spend 1$, you use the rest 999$ or you lost it! This is a SCAM!!!

I'm very sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with our platform, but I’d like to thank you for your feedback.

Just to confirm and clarify, we do not automatically activate the automated payments to the user's account. This is something that only users can toggle on/off via our UpCloud Hub (in Account -> Billing) and if this feature is not activated and the account balance is approaching $0, we will email the account owner and notify them that the account will soon run out of credits.

We do offer a 30 day refund period (from signup) within which we would always provide a refund if you are not happy with the service. If you are outside of this 30 days period and feel your case wasn't handled sufficiently, our support team would be happy to look into this to see if there is anything that can be done.

We are a web agency in Singapore and I choose to go with UpCloud on a 5USD instance to host our clients sites for more than 2 years without any major hiccup. Previously hosted at Linode, local and Malaysia shared hosting.

I like having personal support that make it easier to reach them for sales or technical issues.

Of course, we have our debit/credit cards verified by UpCloud which is deem to be safe and to avoid fraudulent charge. I'm also a privacy focused user.

The only wish if they could lower 5USD, to probably 3.5USD/m to be competitive (not referral) as the other VPS host.

Liars and scammers

They cancelled my VPS without any warning. They did not explain why. I lost all my data. My websites were offline until I could switch to another provider. They did not issue a refund. I now need to contact my credit card provider and get them to issue a cahrge back to Upcloud. Their support team never replies to emails. This is a disgusting company and the staff are liars and scammers.

I'm very sorry to hear that you've faced issues utilising our services. This experience isn't what we pride ourselves on providing and we'd like to look into this.

As I don't have any identifying information relating to your account at this time though, I'm unable to comment on this particular situation however I should point out that our technical support team are available 24/7 so it's likely that this case was with our Security Operations team who do take a bit more time with cases due to the nature of the work that they do. Apologies if there has been some confusion due to this. I'd recommend that you reach out to our support team (available in both the Hub and via email at support@upcloud.com) regarding any outstanding issues you may have or refund requests as they will be best suited to help and as I say, they're available around the clock.

Finally, whilst I am unable to go into the details of how our internal processes work, we never suspend services just for the sake of doing so so if there was an issue with your account, I invite you to contact either our support or security teams (if you have an open dialogue with them) so this can be looked into and resolved.

I am hosting an encrypted DNS server on their Singapore location

I've been with them for 8 months now. Have used their Singapore, London and Madrid locations. My previous providers were Scaleway, DO, Linode and AWS. I don't know the if it is the world's fastest cloud or not, but in my experience so far, the latencies are certainly low and haven't noticed any downtime. I've used the support a couple of times and they were friendly and helpful each time. I've reduced half a star for their firewall prices - $4.03/m is a bit much, and another half a star for the policy of having to deposit $10 to actually use their 'Free' credit - I can understand the need for verification, but they should be upfront about it. This tactic appears to be sneaky. Other than that, the experience have been positive so far.

When it comes to the $10 deposit and promotional credit, the deposit is required to remove trial restrictions on the account as our trial terms (https://upcloud.com/docs/free-trial/) are for a limited period and for limited services. We apologise if it seems like we're being "sneaky" as this isn't our intention at all. We feel that our trial period is a good way for our services to be tested but only the initial trial credit can be used during this period, promotional credits do require that a deposit be made to remove the restrictions. We've also noted your comments regarding the Firewall service, we'll keep this in mind going forward.

Suspended our account. No refund.

Suspended our account. No reason or warning. No communication. Support does not respond. No refund issued. Ignores request for a refund of money paid. Seems like a scam.

In response to Upcloud Support:

Your support team is not available 24/7. They have ignored 3 emails about why the account was suspended and if they intend to send a refund for the money paid. We cannot log in to the UpCloud Hub because our account is suspended - so you are wrong about that part too.

There is no other way to contact Upcloud. Always be wary of a company that doesn't list a phone number on its website - they've done that for a reason!

We will now need to raise a complaint with our credit card provider and get our money back that way. We've never had to do that before - in 13 years of business.

Whilst we can't go into the full range of reasons that an account may be suspended, the most common is for a violation of our Terms of Service. Non professional and rude support…

Non professional and rude support members. Don't even care about customers. The only thing they are best at is giving loss to their own business. They lack the ability to Know their customers. Worst and Rude people that is my latest experience. I would advice not to host your servers, they might ask for Ransom or delete your data. Who knows !

Happy with UpCloud

One month with them, I dissapointed why didn't I moved long long time ago to upcloud. The server is super fast. I'm Indonesian (I use Singapore Server). Their realtime chat service always available, with average less then 2 minutes waiting time before operator reply me. Keep the good work.

Take care of your payment card if you want to register with this hosting company. They take your payment card data on the web page secured only with simple SSL protocol without any known payment security protocol. You even do not know what payment processor they use. And more on that, who guarantee to you they do not store your payment card data on their side? Fully unprofessional behavior.

No card details are stored on our servers or processed by ourselves. Do NOT rent servers from them

Do NOT rent servers from them, i repeat Do NOT rent servers from them!!! It a company that scams people on money in a very sneaky way.

I was renting a 16 vcore with 64 gb server and started to using it to develop some stuff. The apps i use uses some bandwith and cpu power, thats why i choosed a more powerful setup. After some hours in the middle of a session i got banned from the server and account. I was reaching out to the support and asked them why i got banned and they told me that they need ID and creditcard details.

I sent the details in because i didn't do anything illegal obviously. So i got my account back and when i tried to deploy my old one they did limit my cores to 2 cores only and i couldn't open it.

So all my money that i topped up with on the account was useless because there was i couldn't use such a weak compute. So i started to reach out to the support and after that the problems started. NO answers from the support, they ignored my messages. Sent Emails and told them that i am not doing anything bad according to TOS. They just blocked everything from me. No refund no nothing even if i topped up few days before the ban.

So now i got all my money stuck on the account with a useless server.

Do not sponsor these scammers

Sometimes due to discrepancies in the details used on an account on signup we are required to perform further verification checks to ensure that everything is in order and legitimate. If we’re unable to verify this information then we would need to work with the user to determine the next best course of action. Unfortunately in some cases this does mean that we have to suspend an account, though in most cases as these are sign-up discrepancies, the 30-day refund policy does apply. Alternatively for vultr and DO, get free trial $25 with coupon code 9N2T73 for 3 days but with limitations including speed. Must top up $10 to clear limitation and get total $35 permanently in my account. Satisfy with performance and not get big issue until now.

Stay away from UpCloud

Stay away from UpCloud, they will randomly suspend your account without any warning and communication for stupid reasons and you will lose all your data. It's not worth the risk and their network speed is really slow too.

There are 100's of other provider heck I'll even use bluehost before using or recommending UpCloud to anyone, Stay away. You have been warned!!

The most common causes of account suspension are Terms of Service violations and not responding to abuse related issues. For these, we highly recommend that users are familiar with our Terms of Service (https://upcloud.com/terms-of-service/) and have up to date contact details within their UpCloud Hub.

Refund Refusal & Poor Customer Service

- We are 6 days outside of the initial 30-day window account opening window.

- Contacted support to get the remaining, unused balance refunded to our account as that is our money, not UpCloud.

- Support pushed back saying it's not possible, as it's in the Terms of Service

- We continued to discuss back and forth via email, support confirming that when an account is closed, the balance is absorbed by UpCloud, not returned to the customer. (Last time I checked, that's robbery, regardless of written policy.)

- Support's quoted response: "...If I am to offer any advice for your dealings in the future, demanding us to break the agreement because it suits you, will not garner any good will in any forum you seek. The rules are in place for a reason and will not be broken just because you demand it so. Please feel free to report or leave account open so funds can be used later. But if you want the account deleted, the funds will go away..."

- Then to top it off, we had auto-billing enabled for when the balance falls below a set amount, it would auto-debit the company account. The support team, took it upon themselves, to continue trying to cancel the account (which is what we asked for), which resulted in the balance hitting zero. So the balance we had was wiped out and then we were charged again.

- I had to request a manager twice in order to get some kind of acknowledgment of the request.
